Whenever it comes up on this forum it's never really pretty. It pretty much always devolves into revenge fantasy. I've also seen a lot of the passive aggressiveness in school by "nerds", probably because I wasn't one in high school. A lot of the time these people were so obnoxious that other nerds wouldn't hang out with them because they were so condescending all the time.Generic Gamer said:Holy crap, I missed that bit! Yeah, that probably won't have helped.
On a tangent...
I know that a lot of 'nerds' are given grief because of things they do. Quite often, when you really look in to it, the attacks they receive 'for no reason' are actually the direct result of something they've done. The most popular one I've seen is assuming the other guy is considerably less intelligent than he actually is and attempting to sneak insults past him.
Bad move.
The other one is assuming that other people can't tell when you're being passive-aggressive (a term I barely had to use before starting posting here) and thinking that you can get away with being a complete twat to people's faces. Well unfortunately for the nerd passive aggression is still aggression and the guy you just fronted up to gets that.
Thirdly; teenagers don't back down properly. If you show your belly in a fight and the other guy gets the better of you for the love of God don't go spreading rumours about them, shooting them looks or making them look stupid! If you back down you back down, you don't needle them. Don't assume they can't hit you because something is stopping them, them not being able to and them not being allowed to are different things. Don't go around thinking that other people like them ARE them, there's nothing necessarily wrong with a jock because he shares hobbies with a bully.
The valedictorian in my high school class was on a sport team. Does that make them a jock or a nerd?
I love all the stereotyping and armchair psychology though.
