We don't really have this issue that much in England. And even if we did, I'm bigger than all the sporty kids, so it's all good.

well, if thats so. I just dont know how you can continue it to be subtle, when your school's administrative body knows of the prior incidents. Besides, I dont think its very satisfying in this case if the guy you're doing it about doesnt know youre doing it.

That sounds almost too horrible to be real but I can relate. I guess school still run on the biggest & strongest mentality that is holding back civilization mostly it's that most teachers love sports programs since they bring in revenue so they can't have their precious jocks getting wreaked no matter how much they deserve it.
trust me time and the real world will kick their ass for you in the end. almost everyone who picked on me in grade school dropped out before graduation, failed to get into the military or wound up in prison, or at least the ones I've found out about since then. don't I'm sure you've noticed how much better it is in college already... unless your a senior. in that case just hold out until graduation and find your own group. near the end of high school I had a great time since I hung out with a bunch of other nerds and geeks like myself. some of us are still best friends.

I don't know why they get a free pass, but I'd recommend doing what I did in that situation. Specifically, I advise quitting school (stopping only to crack each of them across the face), moving to the sticks, taking up a guided self-education course, and living the rest of your life as an attractive, well-educated man in the rural American Southwest.

I'm actually serious about that. If you can, do that right away.

You should have filed a suit against the school district as well as the students who bullied you.

Or you should have follow one cunts home and solved it with a baseball bat..... On second thought, go with the first option.

Ehh, don't worry about that, I'm 20 and still in the same boat. :/

People usually just left me alone though. I went to schools full of rich spoiled brats with lawyer parts, and all they knew how to do was ***** and complain, nothing physical. And for some reason, they became scared of me, so I just went with it...

Side note: Fuck you captchas.

Second of all, take up some sort of martial art, it helps relieve stress, anger and it allows you to snap a wrist next time someone starts a fight.
Now if they told him not to do Archery (or suggested it) why would they be cool with him learning Karate, since the common misconception is once you learn it, you turn into Jackie Chan?
Nobody but movie thugs are afraid of Jackie Chan, he's just too nice. The misconception is that if you've got anything higher than a yellow belt, you can handle anything and people are allowed to try to punch you all the time. That's not so great to have in High School. If you do end up taking Karate, do it for yourself, to have fun and stay in shape, not in the hope that you'll have to use it against some douchebag attacking you.

On topic, I have never heard of such gross misconduct being allowed at any school, U.S. or not! Of course, private AND Catholic is asking for trouble. If the OP isn't exaggerating (the teachers aren't there for everything these guys have done, so you probably looked like the one overreacting to them) and it's actually this bad, I would transfer schools. Private isn't the be-all, end-all, and I doubt that you're doing that well in your classes with those assholes torturing you all the time anyway. If you don't hate your parents and they'll listen, put up that card; it's next to impossible to get solid grades with so much stress and hate in your life. It isn't healthy, and your grades are gonna reflect it.

Don't retaliate. I know it's hard to feel like justice hasn't been done, but get out of there. I'm speaking from experience. Leave it be, and find a way out and into a different school.

I don't know what that happens I mean I was THE kid who got mocked and bullied at school and I just stood up for myself and fought back and they left me alone to mind my own business and please don't tell me you can't because I was not only the shortest and skinniest kid at the class I also was the worst on all sport activities and yet I could get them to stop but then again I live in Mexico and I believe things work different here cause you have to stand up for yourself because if don't defend yourself you ain't a man or at least that was what I was told.

I find this interesting. Being a varsity athlete three times a year, I find that at my school (public, very urban, 3000 students) teachers will often expect more of me and my fellow athletes in terms of effort in class and in terms of behavior. Just saying, not everyone's bad. But also the teachers that are hardest on jocks are usually the kids who were bullied by them in high school...do not appreciate, as I don't bully anyone.

Wow, I am the ramblemaster.

well I rang the bell and slid down the rope a little (because I didn't trust them for a reason) then about half way down the rope I let go and fell for the pad

the quarterback then proceeded to pull the pad out from under me and I hit the hard-wood floor with a loud thud

everyone laughed

I then lost my temper and garroted the quarterback with the rope (wrapped it around his neck and pulled tight) yelling that he would never do that again

then things became very serious; the teacher yelled at the class to "get him off of him" and well yeah you can see where things went
Well There's your problem. although to get this clear, what you did was "badass" and I as a porky awkward kid gut bullied to some extent so I've daydreamed of doing similar things. but the problem is that you accidentally let yourself become worse than the bullies, and I know I suck for saying that, but its true. Yes, they beat you and bruised over a long period. But no-one saw that, it wasn't harmless, but it was less "impressionable".

The best way is to show them who's boss without overstepping any boundaries. I once dropped a bully to the floor and punched him like a moron in front of the class BUT, not only did he not have a scratch on him to prove it, no one vouched for him, and the teachers never believed him. I got away scot-free.

Don't get me wrong, your school system is biased and broken. but i'm just saying that.... Strangling a guy with a rope? really?

Okay yeah this is a life story but it has a point

I've been beaten up my whole life (weather it be because I'm weird, because I'm poor, or because I'm 18 and have never had a girlfriend)

but in 7th grade (weird/poor) things went too far

the Football team would always hold me down and take turns hitting me
or pelting me with tennis and baseballs

scares bruises and black eyes everywhere

the teachers said "they're just boys being boys"

then one day at the gym, we were doing the rope climb
you climb this really tall rope, ring the bell, then fall onto this really soft cooshy pad so you don't have to climb all the way back down (the pad itself was like 4-5 feet tall, and felt like a tempurpedic bed)

well I rang the bell and slid down the rope a little (because I didn't trust them for a reason) then about half way down the rope I let go and fell for the pad

the quarterback then proceeded to pull the pad out from under me and I hit the hard-wood floor with a loud thud

everyone laughed

I then lost my temper and garroted the quarterback with the rope (wrapped it around his neck and pulled tight) yelling that he would never do that again

then things became very serious; the teacher yelled at the class to "get him off of him" and well yeah you can see where things went

in the end, I got expelled for hurting the quarterback
and when I showed the bruises, crutches, and scars and told them how I got them they said "it's one thing to harm the student body, it's another thing to make up stories to justify it"

...the principal then tried to convince me to take up something to relieve my anger such as football, or baseball, or soccer...

goes to show what a jock he was as well

off note: I ended up taking archery in boyscouts and was the only one that could bullseye every time on the 20 yard target... I was told that I shouldn't take an anger outlet that would let me kill people from 60 feet away with a sharp stick

EDIT: Crap I forgot the question; why is it that the jocks can get away with ANYTHING but the second I defend myself after being badly injured (with 33 witnesses mind you) I get in major trouble?

EDIT 2: sorry actually I wasn't "expelled" I was just "suspended" for a quarter of the year

when I got back the jocks started beating me with bricks (apparently a drunk driver hit the wall next to the church or something)

and I just ran into the office as fast as I could and the second the principal heard my voice and the phrase "law suit"

well...
we had a talk

then I was suspended for my own safety

because he didn't want me to be in an environment where I could get hurt
(you know, because punishing the victim is TOTALLY what you're supposed to do... not punish the [4] offenders!)

EDIT 3: I'm not like this anymore and this has been taken care of (got half the kids there to stop attending and shut down one of the two schools they had... which were right across the street from each other haha)

Just throwing that out there

I'm not really a violent person (yes I am I just keep it in- and blame society)
so no one think I'm a freak or anything lol

just was wondering if anyone else has things like this happen and if this is running rampent
Damn that's unfair (i'm serious). If you consider your trust in mankind to be irrevocably damaged i suggest you go columbine massacre on their asses. If you can delay your gratification you can also get a job, make some money and hire a junkie to kill them.

If you didnt lose your trust in humanity than just live on, find a nice girl who you can relate to on different levels and try forgetting that she is also just an animal that would do the exact same think to you as those douchebag jocks given the opportunity.

Enjoy

Wow, that is quite extreme. And then people wonder why some go on a shooting spree.

Well since the situation is quite severe I would go bat shit crazy and return the favor, but it needs to be systematic and you can't get caught.
I presume some of those jocks got cars? If they do I can't even tell you howmany crazy things can be done there, and if someone were to do something nasty he should clean up his tracks not to get caught.
IF that is not enough or they don't have cars, maybe someone will find out where the leader of the pact lives and ... well let's say hes walking down a dark road and someone were to rob him and maybe take a baseball bat to break his legs... that would be awful wouldn't it.

Do you live in Texas or something? Because that kind of thing never happened at any of my schools.

as for why I said Texas... [http://www.dvorak.org/blog/2010/10/25/cheerleader-wont-cheer-for-her-rapis/]
That is insane, I knew Texas was messed up but damn that is just beyond belief.
In that case forget the baseball bat, chainsaw and nothing less will do.

It's one of those things that seems to have got mixed up, the idea that nerds are tortured geniuses stuck among the ignorant masses. Being a nerd means you're socially inept and normally rather aloof, not that you're smart. Personally I reckon that the reason nerds think they're smarter is because that's all they've really got going for them.

Calling someone a 'jock' and thinking them brutish and stupid is just discrimination to make the nerd feel better, most of the really intelligent people I know (not me, I mean people that leave me gobsmacked) are well rounded, rather popular and physically active. As I said in another thread ages ago, you're not a nerd because of something you can do, you're a nerd for something you can't do.
I've always considered nerds to be more about dedication to academic performance than actual intellectual merit. Some of them were of average or so intelligence and simply really apply themselves to their studies. People who are intelligent but lazy do not fit the typical nerd archetype, so obviously intelligence isn't the deciding factor in nerd-dom.

The "everyone else except my group are stupid sheeple" is hardly limited to nerds, too. I also don't like the undercurrent that a person's worth is solely determined by their intelligence.

Is your school stuck in the fifties? Who still looks the other way for that? Jocks still kick the shit out people just because they can?
In the three years that I went to high school, I might have seen at most two fights. And this is coming from a heavy-duty nerd (HAHA fat).

Well, I think there are 3 potential solutions.

The first one would be moving on. Usually in high school there is that one year where everyone goes to idiot mode and starts acting extremely naughty, arguing, fighting, overreacting and generally being drama queens. At the last year of high school, it's usually the best one. It was for me anyway, everyone was just more mature about everything. And if they still maintain that behaviour, well, you can probably guess how they will end up later on in life. Just don't be passive agressive towards people. This is in general really. That is the antisocial behaviour that people who aren't jocks usually have, and it's nearly as bad imo. However, if you got the ball rolling... it is kind of hard to stop. I usually kept to myself and a few friends during high school, and it went pretty well, the worst I got was annoying harrassment and humiliation. Maybe I was lucky. I was in a private school and most of the people weren't really that bad. And I see a few other year groups at my school who are horrible.

The second thing would probably be do something to intimidate the bullies. Obviously I wouldn't recommend it because firstly it doesn't always work (like you mentioned) and secondly it's garunteed to get you in trouble in school grounds.

I think the best thing to do though would be make a... political fuss about it. Turn it into something profitable. If you force the school to punish them then you will at least be able to get something out of it, especially if money is involved. If it gets on any local news? Probably even better, if you can get to shine them in a negative light.
