Ooooh boy. Judging by -that- picture alone... she is not well in her head. Lovely hair, though. However... killing her own infant son by shaking it to death, and then blaming a game: put her in the slammer. For that amount of time. Let's keep the crazy genes locked away.

"this incident could be awkward for Zynga because it's been so open in the past about its "calculating and psychological" efforts to make its games as addictive as possible."

..is this a joke? Or have you just been sniffing too much NYTimes lately?

To blame a non-violent game for a deplorable violent act this could be a new angle in the blame games for everything saga. It's a dangerous path for those who support this nonsense to take.

If the game isn't violent but that act was violent, in their faulty cause in effect logic they like to use -- what really is to blame. Previously the game has had some pointer to the behavior exhibited by the game corrupted individual. Unless I am mistaken there is no "shake baby" protocol in Farmville. So if it's not the content of the game, it's simply playing a game of any kind that makes us all violent and shit?

Ha! Good luck selling that line of bullshit. I suppose the tact this time around will be that it's the addictive nature of gaming -- yada yada. That old dead horse is going to get whipped again.

Well, most (if not all) of us who grew up with gaming would know the feeling of having someone breathing down your neck to do something, and you wish they just cease to exist, die, do it themselves if theyre so desprate, etc. Though this seems to me to be someone who suddenly now hates gaming dropping a convienient example to the rising opposition of the gaming industry in north america.

Similar thing happened in germany once. Remember the angry german kid? Despite it bieng 100% acting the german media turned it into their war cause on gaming saying it was his father secretly filming him playing some kind of FPS.

Civilisation discovered a long while ago that torturing people to death doesn't stop anyone nor does it undo anything that they did.
No, but it ensures that the person will never take another human life.

HA!!!

HAHAHAHAHA!!

HA HA HA!!

Now i have proof positive to present to my friends and family!
I was right all along!!

Its not the hardcore video gamers that you should worry about performing crimes, its the casuals!!
Dude, not fucking funny. Seriously. :-/

This is way too sad, condolences go out to the family and I hope the baby RIPs.
You know, i honestly hate being mean.

But there are times when the pure stupidity of man calls for it. ((or woman if there are any feminists in this thread)) I have no pity for the family. I have no reason to.
Its one baby, on a planet of 6.8 million, and growing.

My bleeding heart has several bandages on it that cover up the wounds in areas such as this.

And to nit pick a bit more, one really cant "rest in peace". Because you arnt resting......
I used to feel the same way. Actually, I still sort of do, but I try to keep that a secret most of the time.

Of course she is. Because every single person of our (I'm 22 as well) generation has no idea how to take responsibility.
Speak for yourself...

No one randomly decides to shake a baby, that agitation was there long before she decided to play her lil facebook game. It just happened while she was playing farmville, it could have just as easily happened while she was watching TV. She was unhappy with her life because of being tied down to her child, so this death for the most part was inevitable... Sad to say but it is true.
Hey, I'm no better than anyone else. Which is why I'm glad I'm not a father. And yes, I do agree with you.
I'm currently playing father figure for my girlfriends son. I just didn't like being lumped into that crowd after all I've done just because I happen to be around that age. :p

Eh. im tired of hiding what i feel. I did it all through high school so that i didnt get thrown out for calling my teachers horrible things.

Im open with my opinions, because i really dont care about my public image. If i come off as cold and heartless, oh well. But no one can give me a reason to care about that family.

She shook her baby to death. Why am i suppossed to feel any remorse or sadness for this? Chances are, she shouldent of even had the child in the first place.

Then you are the exception to our generation. You have taken responsibility, and I salute you for that.

What the fuck?

"I got angry doing something else and while I was still angry I killed my baby, so it's obviously not my fault".

I'm not usually an angry person, but I want her shot. Or preferably shaken to death.
Ok, we're getting some odd kneejerk reactions here.

Question here: did she ever actually say that Farmville CAUSED her actions? Or just say that she was angry at her baby because it was interrupting her game, thereby giving the facts without insinuating that the makers of Farmville were "at fault"? She pled guilty, don't forget.

There's a big difference here - if the baby had interrupted her cooking, we wouldn't be saying that she blamed the recipe book. But because she says she was gaming at the time, everyone assumes that she "blames" Farmville - even though she pled guilty?

Or are you guys just reading way more into this than I am?
Whatever might be the case she is still a fucking horrible human being.
Not arguing with that, dude. I still think people are making connections that aren't there though.

Given how much gamers hate how their hobby is blamed for violent acts, it seems kind of ironic that in this case it seems as though their hobby ISN'T actually being blamed for a violent act, but they're acting as though it is.

Unless she genuinely believes that Farmville is to blame. In which case this is even more creepy.
then she gets put into a fucking mental hospital for blaming farmville for something thats her fault. actually come to think of it i think we should put anyone who plays farmville into a fucking home
