I think everyone played Kingdom Hearts already without complaining. But if the game was just about how he's so gay and he does gay things the gay way and everyone knows he's gay and never shuts up about how he's gay then the whole game will be gaystupid.

Yes I would...

And in Temple of Elemental Evil (the best D&D pc game ever, when it was patched) you could have a homosexual relationship with a pirate (who wore pink). It was epic.
Yes it was!

And yes you could. My evil villain was a queen.

"did anyone ever stop to think that homosexuality could be a natural response to a given species' overpopulation?"

That comment blew my mind.
Actually mass starvation of a spiecies is a standard response to overpopulation, not turning gay. It's more like defect, some sort of mild mental sickness. In nature noone is born perfect so I believe homosexuals just 'pop" here and there once in a while, just like people with cancer or aspergers.

Sure, i dont care what theyre sexuality is. but i couldnt get more straight so if this gay character started hitting on other guys or making sexual suggestions id have to stop. not due to prejudice but because itd just be tooo weird.......

after reading the artical "not that theres anything wrong with that" I was wondering would people now adays be ready to play a game with a gay main charater? or lesbain main charater as so not to discrimnate(mispelled).

After Note: To be clear the charater is gay to being with, not rpg style where you choose the sexuall ortation(misspeled)
Sure, why not. Maybe a poll would have helped in this case?

I mean if can't have sex in games when I am a straight character, games to spite being incredibly violent are extremely prudish, you could play a gay character and never know it (MGS2 post-tanker)

I'm sure guys would play as a lesbian, in hope of seeing some girl on girl action.
But not if it contained man on man action.
Mhm, I hate that.

Not a problem for me. As long as he/she isn't like a gay lad a few years younger than me who HAS to tell everyone he's gay all the time, it's all good.

You settin' yourself up for a world of flames here, boy.
Hell yeah. My ass is freezing in here so I could use it to warm meself.
And in all seriousness, I'm entitled to having my own opinion and as it is fairly reasonable I can defend it. Sex makes babies, gays don't make babies. So there is some defect down there. It's not that I hate tham or whatever, I don't want them to repent or cry over their condition as it is completely harmless and 2 guys or 2 girls prolly have less troubles understanding each other. Still it's silly to call something like that "normal".

There are plenty of games where the main character's sexual orientation isn't specified, so there's a possibility you've played a gay character without knowing it.

I don't see any issue with that.

But still, calling it a 'condition' can't really be considered normal either, can it?

Anyways, it depends. Simply being gay wouldn't bother me, and if the gameplay was good I doubt I'd care, but if they made an effort to match the stereotypical flamboyant drama queen gay profile, it might irritate me too much to put up with.
This. Makato (sp?) from Enchanted Arms drove me insane because he was so damn cliched. Other than that, I have no problem with playing a gay character.

Though, why would it matter if the main character is gay? Do you have to rescue their lover at some point?

Well assuming we're talking gay and not just annoyingly camp, then yes, of course. The dynamics of a storyline aren't going to be that much different. In fact any romance would probably be dumbed down to avoid offending people. So I don't see why not.

As long as the game doesn't remind you all the time about the fact that you're playing with a gay character and the other male characters aren't flirting with you (or you with them) then I don't see any problem with playing a gay character but if the game was about you being stereotypical gay guy flirting with other guys then I think I wouldn't be able to play it.
