Would you still drink milk if cows were anthropomorphic?

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I mean, don't we already have a fetish market for human breast milk? I can only imagine if we had anthrocows that it would be bigger and we would probably treat cows much better. Then again, I would assume that people who are into bestiality would also treat animals much better and I have no idea if that's the case, and my search history doesn't need to know that either.

Seriously, it's not a fetish thing, I don't know why everybody assumes it is.

Also I did not know that. Seems like that would be a tremendously expensive fetish to indulge, considering you'd need refrigerated shipping and it'd have a short shelf life.

I mean, would you? I wouldn't exactly call raping an animal 'treating it better'.

Considering what we do to animals, seems like having sex with them would probably be kinder then most things we do. I mean I would assume there is some consent there... then again, I don't really know how it works and probably don't really want to, so I'll leave that up to you.

I can't tell if you are genuinely surprised by this like you didn't expect it, or if this really was an unforeseen result that you're now having to deal with.

OT: It's whatever I guess? Milk's still gotta come from somewhere, and I still need it in some of my food recipes

Aaaand you've one-upped us all in making the thread weirder, with one crash sentence.
I don't know, I think you still have everyone beat with that "Buffalo Bull" bit earlier.

Anywho, I don't drink milk these days, and still wouldn't if the cows suddenly turned anthropomorphic. Plus, I know you're a little miffed that people aren't engaging with the OP @Drathnoxis, but I mean...there ain't a whole lot you've given us to work with beyond 'anthro cows'. Like, are they actually sapient people now or are they just cow brain in human suit, are they still property, is industrial farming/meat processing still a thing, are they getting paid, etc.

Well, it wasn't too long ago that people with a different skin color were widely regarded as lesser beings than white people and thus ripe for exploitation.

I don't think that the world would have much of a problem with accepting human-looking cows as just being a lesser form of animal only to be exploited for their milk.

You can dress them up by drawing them as some anime figure with with eyes and a coy look, but they'd still have the same vacant stare that cows have nowadays and smell because shit would stick to their legs. I doubt they'd be very endearing to many people.

Oh...slaughterhouses would attract weird employees.

And low budget slasher films would use bits of dead cattle to represent humans, assuming they aren't doing cruelty to animal stuff on film and pretending it's people.

And bad police tv shows would each have an episode where the cow that was killed/eaten turned out to be a human victim the killer had made to look like a cow.

I think we've pretty much gone with the scenario that the cows are still cows in their brain. But I wouldn't be opposed to someone exploring the scenario from a different perspective where the cows were intelligent. Though if they did suddenly obtain human intelligence as well, they would be completely uneducated as is. I imagine the cows that are already mature would be incapable of learning speech, as is the case with humans that have grown up in isolation without human contact.

The cows would still be property until/if the laws were changed. Industrial farming/meat processing is still a thing as this is an overnight change, however, if people would still want to eat beef is another story. Would you eat a hamburger made from a cow girl? They probably aren't getting paid.

I can't tell if you are genuinely surprised by this like you didn't expect it, or if this really was an unforeseen result that you're now having to deal with.
I really didn't expect 90% of people to take the thread as if I was revealing a secret fetish. I was just curious if anthropomorphism would be a deal breaker for people on dairy products. Like, milk is really good and is such an important food, I mean, it's an entire group of the four food groups by itself. Would people change their entire diet due to the fact that it comes from something that looks human? I honestly have no idea what the consensus would be.

This hypothetical world I've created just keeps getting darker and darker with every post you make.

Well "What if a creature that people own, eat and often mistreat looks like people?" is going to be dark.

Would they be close enough to human that we could use their organs? That's fix organ transplant waiting lists. OTOH, diseases would spread both ways easily then, we'd get new plagues.

(As an aside, cowpox is close enough to smallpox that dairy workers tended not to get smallpox (you only get one, and then once, as a rule), and thus vaccines were invented.)

To be fair to him, I have a feeling that if women weren't needed for child birth, the church would have eliminated them long ago.

Oh, in this word did humans evolve from cows? Are people going to make Planet of the Cows movies?

Also, if you were naked-

No, it's not going to be weird, really!

If you were naked, you could stand with a herd of cattle, and you'd blend in. Like, if someone was chasing you in a farming area. In a bad comedy movie.

The picture you posted at the start of the thread maaaaayyyyy have contributed to making the issue worse, but it was an inevitability that you weren't going to be able to escape no matter how you spun the thread. Deleting the picture now wouldn't help either.

To also be fair, they are answering your hypothetical.
Which... it's an interesting hypothetical, I'll give you that

?? Maybe somehow we aren't seeing the same picture, but it's a completely non-sexualized anthro cow that I found in a google search for "cow girl". I wasn't exactly rolling in choice either as most results were either girls in hats or just humans with horns, big tits, and cow patterned sweaters. Like, that's exactly the sort of character you'd see in a Disney movie or something.

I see your side of the picture, believe me. I just think it would've been slightly different if it was actually an anthro cow from a Disney film or something recognizable, cause then people would go "oh that's that cow from X movie." The one you posted is very clearly someone's drawn furry art. It seems small, but that alone makes a difference in perception of the question. Not having the picture at all likely would've lessened the level of "is this a furry thing?" as well. Not to mention the question itself is simply going to sound questionable based on the fact it could be connected to furry stuff, and there's no avoiding that. The choice of picture only increased the chance.
Plus it's the internet. I feel like this sort of thing is bound to come with the territory

Unfortunately I don't have an off-hand knowledge of any cows that have shown up in Disney movies, but how's this?

A new question for everybody: Would you drink the milk from Otis, the bull from Barnyard?
