I am in the middle of Shadow of the Colossus (first time playing surprisingly) and all I think is: All these ancient beings want to do is sleep and some ominous voise from a hole in the ceiling wants me to stab out their kindneys .

Not that it's a bad game, I think it's quite wonderful actually, but I still don't have any justification for the (at this point in time) eight brutal murders I have just commited other than some dead girl and a emotionless protagonist so androgynous that it and the dead girl could be sisters for all I know.
I actually felt bad killing a couple of them, because they never DID do anything to harm me. They, in fact, never did anything but look cool and fly or swim around. They didn't fight, they didn't do anything, and yeah, killing them was saddening.

What happens in the end is fitting for Wander.

Super Mario: Sunshine said:
Baby Bowser: Peach is my mama!
Peach: I am?
Me: How could you not know if you gave birth to a spikey rock or not!?
Mass Effect said:
Council: Oh yeah, that's definatly Saren's voice. No possible way that it could have been faked and edited to sound like him...nope.
Me:...
Eh, The Mass Effect thing did seem a little rushed. The Turian would have said that first to defend one of his own.

OT: Ending of Halo 3 (legendary) WTF.

ARE YOU JUST GOING TO LEAVE IT LIKE THIS!? YOU'RE ENDING IT ON A CLIFF HANGER THAT MAKES NO GOD DAMN SENSE!!

WHAT IS THE PLANET? WHERE IS IT? WHY DIDN'T WE NOTICE IT WHEN WE LOOKED UP FROM THE ARK?

Sorry for caps, but it just pisses me off.

The entire level where you revisit the hotel in Killer 7. And then at the end of it all
Emir grows a 3rd eye on his forehead and blows his brains out.
I know the game was kind of wacked to begin with, but what the fuck?!

The ACTUAL end of Eternal Darkness when you see that you were playing right into Mantorok's....hands? The player was just a tool for it to kill off the other major deities so it was super powerful again. Really nice.
HA! that one was pretty pretty nice, i agree!
played it like... 8 times? dunno
awesome game! if they just made another one... or even the old one, with nowadays graphics... hell yah! =)

Xel'Lotath: "Make sure he's dead, or insane... Or perhaps one, then the other?"
She rules. I like women, I like psychos, I like goddesses, and she's ALL three of them in ONE mad entity... If I ever married a mad goddess it would be her ^__^

Super Mario Galaxy opened with a WTF moment when Bowser comes with a fleet of flying pirate ships and randomly fires into the town of Toads celebrating their national holiday, rips the castle from the ground and flies it into space.

Crash Bandicoot Twinsanity when you have gone through the entire game so far trying to collect crystals and then your idiot sister (this is her second appearance in the game and in the first one she just got stunned before doing anything) jumps forwards and destroys the crystals...and gets stunned right afterwards...

I'm playing KOTOR now (I knew the spoiler before now), and so far I can only vaguely see how I'm the bad guy. My circumstances for being where I was at the beginning are pretty vague, but other than that there's no big evidence I can see. What I mean is that I don't think someone with no outside knowledge could know that plot point where I am in the story. Maybe it's well-explained, but I dunno.
I personally thought that it was one of the most skillfully implemented plot twists I've ever seen in a game. There's plenty of foreshadowing if you look back closely enough (some of the things the council says, the fact that you are able to master Jedi training so quickly, among other things), and yet it still surprised me when the big reveal was pulled.
Actually, reflecting on it, you're right. The visions of Bastila attacking Revan, knowing where the star maps were, yeah. It is well done.
I'm really surprised by how many people have mentioned KOTOR. My friend from work lent me the game earlier this year, promising me that I'd love the plot, but it would really surprise me. I went home, played three or four hours of the game, and then came back and told him exactly what was going to happen in the story. Maybe they overdid the foreshadowing, but there were all kinds of clues right from the start - the amnesia, the fact you already knew (it being a jedi game) that you had Force powers, and the biggest clue of all; Revan never showing his face in the flashback cutscenes. A brilliant game, but with a very predictable storyline.

Little things always bug me a lot. Like, I never really understood in Mass Effect why they kept Liara on the ship and let her join the shore party. I mean, she has no military training, and, basically the first thing she does after you rescue her is faint. oO Meh. It's lucky for her she kind of grew on me...
I called the Liara situation totally wrong. After her all-too-convenient encounter with the Geth and the weird blue defensive shield...thing she was trapped in, I was suspicious. Then after missions, she'd start reaching around for Shepherd's head doing God knows what, after which she would very suspiciously have a fainting attack and have to go be alone for a while. I was convinced she was a double agent, rooting out your secrets or strategies and using her alone time to record them or transmit them to someone. It made a lot of sense when I thought about it, and I was kinda dissapointed to find out she was just a crappy character ;)

OT: How have we gotten this far without mentioning the ending of Monkey Island 2? The funfair, LeChuck as your brother, the fact it was the nightmare story of your child self...what the hell, man? That one still has me scratching my head today, about a decade after I finished the game.

The ending for The World Ends With You, when I finished it I was like, "what just happened? What you're the actual composer? You made me suffer through all of that because you weren't strong enough? Screw you!"

The ending for Killer7 was kind of a "huh?" granted that whole game was full of "huh?" moments.

Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean (one hell of a title) had a major twist in the middle of the game where you think the game is done "but I'm only on the first disc! What's the second one for, is it just an optical illusion?"

The part in Batman: Arkham Asylum where you think your game is broken, screw you scarecrow, and damn you short attention span! It was awesome but damned I was freaking out at the same time.

Actually, it's all explained in Monkey Island 3.

The link is pretty much a sum up of Gears 2's plot, if you had cared to look.

Yeah... The infamous one threw me for a loop.

Favorite WTF moments in game plots... I guess Kerrigan in the original Starcraft. (She's evil now? But she was such an awesome good guy!)

Resident Evil For Gamecube: I found out that Billy from RE0 was tyrant. Really?

Spider Man 2 The Move The Game: What the fuck? It's actually fun?

Phoenix Wright Justice for All: Pretty much the entire final case.

Phoenix Wright Trials and Tribulations: Pretty much the ENTIRE FINAL CASE.

The good ending of Two Worlds. The whole game was a piece of shit, but:

Oh, because you impaled the obvious bad guy on the end of your halberd and left him out to dry, none of it happened! Yaaaaaay! :D

Really takes the absolute piss. -.-

i thought that it was a wtf moment.. it was really well pulled off though
erm wierdest plot twist in a game.... also in bioshock were it turns out that your not a real person, just a sleeper cell put into the real world for fontaine to call back to rapture if anything happened to him that made me go :0 im not a real person god damn you heres me thinking i crash landed here on accident
I actually guessed that one by the time the bathysphere was blown up, except I thought he would just turn out to be evil, not that he would be Fontaine himself. XD

The sires were pretty much a WTF moment. They had no point on the story as far as I'm concerned. Don't get me wrong, I love Gears, but the sires were highly ridiculous. I also said in my quote that the sires made me go "WTF". They were a WTF gaming plot.
