My thoughts exactly. These companies shouldn't be the only ones allowed to use the law to their advantage. I have also been thinking about suing whatever company it is that puts out the crane machines (the dollar game were you try to lift a stuffed animal or toy with a little crane)because I am positive that the crane can't even hold the weight of the stuffed animal and I want 27 years worth of my money back plus emotional damages.

I want to hear how he was 'damaged' to the tune of half a trillion.
By breach of contract
Breaching a contract that they never agreed too? Along with that victory clause thing that has no legal bearing to begin with.

OP: It seems like he is trying to rid on the coattails of the bank foreclosures and is failing badly

What a douche. Microsoft is going to stomp this guy flat. Incidentally time for Microsoft employees to take another shot.

Sounds like a pretty half-baked plan to me, I think he will need several satellite lasers and shark tanks to get the full 500 Billion.
He probably wants the money delivered to his underground lair too.

This is what we call 'being a dick'. I think there should be a law stating that anyone who exploits legal loopholes for their own gain at another's expense will be issued one punch in the face.
I don't think he's being a dick. I think he has a valid argument, and he's simply doing to the corporation what they do to us all the time. By the way I like your avatar.

Hilarious, but only if he actually pulls it off...I so hope he does, my god that'd be hilarious!
Forcing microsoft into bankruptcy and depriving it's 89,000 employees of paying jobs is hilarious to you?

Well. I think it's a forgone conclusion that this guy is a giant asshole. Hey, I called him an asshole! Do you think he'll sue me for a hundred billion now?

The guy isn't sueing for damages.

He changed the terms of the contract to maybe something like I agree to this contract if you pay me 500 billion American dollars. Failure to respond or terminate my service within the next week signifies you accept this ammended agreement.

Tada thas where he gets his 500 billion number from. Sueing doesn't automaticly mean suing for damages.

Lol....There is no fucking way a judge is going pick up this case and say" wow this is serious business let us proceed with it" the most likely thing they are going to do is Lock him up in a loony house.

It's sad... especially because I looked at the headline, and, without even clicking on it, thought, 'It's an American'. Oh, surprise, surprise. THIS is one of the reasons I hate some of the people who live in my country.

Need I point out that 500 billion dollars is a numerical economy value that does not exist with one group? Seriously. Nobody has 500 billion dollars.

I like it. But if he willingly admits he's just jerking the system, then it sort of hurts his case. Also, $500 bllion might be a little much.

I understand the guy is trying to make a point, but 500 billion dollars seems a little much. I doubt the guy will win.

And why go to court if you're not willing to print out your evidence for the judge? That just seems stupid to me.
I guess the 500$ billion is to make sure that it becomes news and that its talked about to raise awareness over the issue, what was the point of making a point if there were no witnesses?

If you, like nearly everyone on this thread so far, thought "He actually thinks he can win $500bn! What an idiot!" Then you are the idiot. Of course he's under no illusions that he can win. He's just making a point. And, point well made IMO.

He'll lose because it's frivolous. But he's correct that this is the same kind of thing that Microsoft and other companies do all the time. So if what he's doing is wrong, how come they get away with it all the time? Hopefully this will go some way to stopping them doing this in the future, rather than idiots thinking he's trying to get money.

Frankly, even if this insanity had any merit. You cannot simply mail documents and declare victory. It is required the defendant be served directly, in which case would mean an executive or someone within Microsoft's legal division, not some random employee.
