For those who are still using IE, because you see no advantage in a new browser since you just surf the web with it:

I was on your boat seven years ago!

But then I started realizing how much slower my computer was getting, and hundreds of malicious code, spyware, and viruses were detected with every system scan. I finally listened to my my tech savvy friends and went with Firefox.

The only times I would even touch IE now, is when I'm updating Windows or if I'm on a public computer with only that installed. And still I grumble because of the unintuitive user interface layout, the fact that pages only load half the time at a 1/4th of the speed Firefox and Chrome would go, the fact that every thing opens in new windows instead of tabs and it crashes half the time, and the fact that the default search provider is Bing instead of Google. (Seriously Microsoft!)

You don't know what you're missing until you try it. I now don't know why I was so stubborn back in the day.

I'm using Firefox at the moment here, at home I use Chrome.
Also, this thread isn't nearly as scaring as the thread on a certain forum that said "remove your left hand from your left cheek and uncross your legs" when I was sitting exactly like that..

Rarely use IE, NEVER use Firefox anymore. Chrome is my #1 browser, sooo much faster.

Yeah... Internet Explorer is disgusting.
I've never used Chrome or Opera, but I'm not that big on Firefox... I'm a safari kid.
IE is by far the worst though.
...And again, I haven't even USED Chrome or Opera.

I'm on chrome personally (it's the only web browser that loads webpages at a half decent spped on my Craptop)

I'm not surprised it's fallen that low to be honest. The only reason I think it's still that high is because the older generations (50+) as a generalisation wont bother changing browser from whatever came with their computor in the 80's
/stereotype
The reason its that high is because of the millions of computers in offices that run windows and use IE because they dont want to install another browser on their system. You think 49% of the internet is people over 50?

You left out Opera in the other browser section. Sure, it's not fully compatible with some things, but it's awesome!

I've used Safari ever since it came through with an iTunes update. I use IE for anything Safari can't open (which is rare)

I've been tempted by Chrome, but I've yet to have a problem with safari, so I don't see the point in switching. I used FireFox once, and didn't get on with it. Having to empty the cache every 4 or 5 pages didn't help...
