I switched to Chrome when IE refused to let me download ANYTHING. Been using it ever since.

I'm one of those "Pesky" Mac users, only I'm sticking with my trusty foxy for browses.
It's user friendlier and more custom shit.

Indeed, I am using Chrome my good man, though only because anything heavier gives my poor little netbook a fit. Tends to be a mix between IE/Chrome/Opera on the chunky family computer.

Firefox is an amazing browser for all computers, chrome only works well on higher end systems because the way the processes are handled are ridiculously stupid and use "less" memory but if you're like me and have between 5 and 10 tabs open FireFox is still the top dog.

Do they mean from PCs? While I appreciate Chrome, at the moment I am using Dolphin to read the article and type this. I use dolphin on my rooted Nook Tablet at least as much as Chrome.

I dig Chrome. I made the switch when a major crash prevented me from watching youtube on firefox at all (seriously, reinstalling flash, reinstalling firefox, changing graphics drivers) ever again.

I just kinda wish Chrome would quit hoggin up all this RAM.

I've used every browser there, except really Firefox.

I just bought a laptop last week (An Acer, don't judge me) and one of the first things I did was to give IE the boot and download Safari.
I've used a Mac for years until now, so ya. Safari is my preferred choice.

2) The complete lack of NoScript. If you're unaware, NoScript is the greatest Firefox addon of all time. It blocks all Javascript from executing unless you explicitly allow it. It literally makes it impossible to get a virus and not know about it. The fact that Google hasn't put the hooks in to make it possible in Chrome is almost criminal.
Not really. I ran NoScript back when i had Firefox, and NoScript is an addon for security PARANOID people. It's not necessary, and not having it is not criminal, and it's not as critical a feature as you make it out to be (you might consider it so, but that doesn't make it true).

Edit: Just to clarify, there is nothing wrong with being security conscious and taking extra measures, but you can't label a products as "lacking" because they don't adhere to your standards when your standards are beyond reasonable.

Yes indeed, I am using Chrome to read this! I have dabbled with other ones but Chrome has been the best for me so far.

i'm using IE, and besides the fact that it doesn't really matter to me, i switched to chrome and was EXTREMELY let down. i'm not sure what the issue was, but after using it happily for about a week, i noticed that my comp had been slowed to a crawl. i ctrl+alt+del and brought up task manager, just to discover that even when chrome wasn't running, it was eating between 70 to 90% of my cpu usage. i immediately uninstalled, problem solved.

since then, i've reinstalled, even installed some apps on it, use it on occasion, and everything seems to be fine, but for the most part, i reach for IE for daily browsing.

I use Firefox for primary usage, but I load Chrome when I'm looking to load the browser quickly and with low memory usage.

Anything besides Safari or (dear god) Internet Explorer.

I use firefox although since 4 it seems to have got slowly worse, it randomly crashes and other times it crashes before the window even opens over and over until i restart. I have Chrome as my back up but chances are i will switch over if firefox continues to get worse.

I used to use Firefox all the time, but when I got Windows 7 they consistently failed to patch the 64-bit version to not crash all the time, so. Chrome it is.

if you open task manager while running chrome, it seems that each tab is treated as a separate window, which tends to add to the memory taken up. Maybe thats why it crashes more?
That is an intended feature to help prevent one bad tab crashing all the tabs and to be more secure by separating out potential security issues in single tabs.

I did a quick read up on the stats. The figures given are of the browser usage as a percentage of total traffic. Not a per machine count. When taking percentage of unique users IE shows as 54%. This seems to indicate that heavier internet users use Chrome more which is why Chrome has a higher portion of the total traffic.
