You first "**** This" Moment in Gaming

Kingdom Hearts. After listening to Rikus speech for the tenth time (to this day I know the entire scene by heart, "THERE'S NO WAY YOU'RETAKINGKAIRISHEART!" so. many times.) I actually managed to take a substantial chunk of his health. As my hopes were raised and I saw an end to this dialog driven nightmare he promptly shouted "Welcome oblivion!" turned invincible, warped around the stage and flying towards me whilst attacking me and finished of the combo by causing pillars of unholy lightning to erupt from the ground....

I don't care if it would have been easier if I had only grinded a bit more. Riku is an asshole and whoever decided to make unskippable cutscenes need to be burned in a pit of never ending cheesy comments and extravagant hand gestures.

Though I suppose Super Mario 64 has the honor of causing my first rage-fit. There is no way that someone could make maps like tick-tock clock and rainbow ride in a kids game without a deep hatred of humanity.

When I first found out about the Halo 2 skulls. I decided "Well this sounds like fun, lets go on Legendary and get a few!"
Dear god, grunt birthday party wasn't too bad but when I saw the name "Catch" I decided to give it a try not knowing what it does. Nearly 100 insta-kills by Jackel snipers later I get the skull and thought "Ok now wtf does it do?" Walked into the next area and got a nice coating of plasma grenades. So I had enough of that, I turned off the xbox not knowing that the skulls don't remain active after you stop playing the game. Safe to say I never went skull hunting again in Halo 2.

I smashed BOTH of my SNES controllers trying to beat Vega in Street Fighter 2 (back when it was released).

So many hours of gaming to finally beat that guy. Almost as much as Battle-toads. That game has definitely left a few SNES controllers destroyed in its history.

Driver. I picked it up in a bargain bin years ago and couldn't get past the first mission. Seriously.

Also, Miracle Warriors for the Genesis. I zambonied the map looking for the final or next-to-final dungeon and still couldn't find it.

For me i never really struggled with any game until the 360
but thats because i bought games that went along with my age and the ps1 was my first console so i never really had any games that gave a real gaming challenge
they were all spyros and crash bandicoots up until then

But i lost my fucking temper so many times with Risen. As soon as the lizardmen turned up i just couldnt complete anything quest related
plus there are so many questbreaking arseholeries that i stormed away from it more times than i care to remember

Probably GTA San Andreas, most of the Zero missions I found difficult but the one were you have to chase down Burkeley's couriers in the Red Baron. Must have taken me and my friend combined a solid 2 weeks to finish but just a few weeks ago I replayed it finished it 1st time maybe my co-ordination wasn't developed enough back then I don't know but rage quit that mission countless times.

Oh this is easy to answer as i remember it all too well.

Bubsy. No not the infamous 3d sequel *shudders*, dodged a bullet there, but original bubsy on i think it was super nintendo.

By that point i had already finished contra without cheats, wasn't half bad at ghouls and goblins and even ninja gaiden when playing on my cousins nintendo. Point being i was hardly a novice when it came to insanely hard games, but bubsy...

Well that was the first game to make me genuinely rage, 1 hit deaths combined with enemies coming from all possible directions and somewhat stiff controls aswell as dodgy jumping all resulted in a frustrating experience that made every step taken a real pain, the only way i found to proceed was by sticking to the heights to avoid some annoying enemies and go very slowly, inch by inch move forwards so as to have time to dodge a fast incoming enemy.
Don't think i even made it past 2nd level.

My first Minecraft world was deleted one day.
It contained:
-My Skyscraper
-My Miles long Train Track that provided quick fun transport to all of my Creations
-My Underground hideout
-My Winter Cottage
And countless others were deleted.
Since then my relationship with Minecraft has been strained.

I remember this giving my mates and I a massively hard time. Its considerably easier on a PC than on a PS3, I seem to remember, so waht were you playing it on?

Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness. I really did try and like it as I'm a TR fan but I just couldn't bring myself to carry on (grip meter, glitches etc etc)

FFVIII & FFXII - before these two I had no problems playing all the way through a FF game, guess I've just lost my love for them..or they killed it =P

As far as I can remember, I gave up on the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time when I was a wee lad. However, I don't know if this was due to giving up or because we sold the 64.

What I do remember clearly is Final Fantasy XIII. After slogging through tedious fight after tedious fight and I FINALLY got up to Barthandeus or whatever his name is and he killed my entire party with a single attack in the middle of the fight when my characters were too stupid to walk out of his line of fire, I went "F*** you and everything you stand for" and sold the game on eBay.

not my first, because I don't remember, but recently, while playing GoWIII on insane, there's this part were a Gas Barge(in case you don't know, it's like a small Zeppelin) has to land and I have to hijack it. Ok, so while I kill the guards that protect it, its me-seeking missiles instakill me. After my 10th try, I just ragequitted.

Dragon Age 2, when I met the Templars and Mages trying to work together. For me, it sounded like a wonderful idea, but the game wouldn't let me do anything other than kill them all. I played through to the end, but that was one out of many 'fuck this game' moments.

Playing Kingdom Hearts back in my single digits, The fight vs Riku.
It might have been the wearing away of cutscenes, or his 'the floor is made of lava' attack, but I gave up on it after dying many times (I even asked my parents if they could try it-it didn't help)

And then, 7 years Later, I pick up the box on a bored day, decide to give it a go.
Killed him in 1.
Wut.

...Looking back on it now, I think it might have been me not knowing how to dodge/defend....
