Lets plays and reviews. I like the games he makes videos of and has different opinions than me which I like. However, he is a bit pretentious. Like Moviebob if he knew anything about videogames and had only youtube channel.

Ray, Geoff, Jack, Gavin and Michael from Roosterteeth for group lets players. Just the mayhem in their lets plays is incredible. As for solo players, it has to be TmartN. His lets plays are just entertaining for me, and he uploads multiple videos a day.

I enjoy watching Spoiler Warning on Shamus Young's website. Not sure what 'style' it is since it's pretty much the only one I watch.

Total Biscuit's Terraria... thing I also enjoy watching but it's more of a radio play than a lets play.

It is a talk show with mining in the background.

OT: My favorite is Jesse Cox. I like him because he is so hilarious but it can just be infuriating to watch sometimes because he is sooo incompetent. My favorite type is comedy.

The ones I watch the most are Game Grumps (I love the both of them so very much), JefMajor (I find his immature jokes plain hilarious for some reason, and while he can be incompetent, he's never TOO incompetent) and Jesse Cox, or OMFGcata. They're my current favourites.

Same for me, except JefMajor, because I've never heard of him.

I use to watch Game Grumps regularly everyday. But the sad thing(though it is a good thing) is that they've regularly produced so many videos(was two a day when I fell out for a bit), that I just can't keep up and watch stuff from other people as well. I'm probably at least thirty or more videos behind on watching everything they've done for their new channel.

Jesse Cox is great. Actually, the best let's play I've watched all the way though(and I don't watch them all the way through that often) was the Saints Row 3 play-through he did with Wowcrendor. Seriously, that was just plain off the hook hilarity.

Considering GG and JC, I also love everyone I've watched that is affiliated with TheGameStation and its channel. Total Biscuit, Dodger(PressHeartToContinue/DexterityBonus), Myndflame, The Completionist(ThatOneVideoGamer), etc, etc.

Pretty much any youtuber that gets related to/friends with TheGameStation, turns out to be pretty cool to watch in whatever they do.

Too many to pick out a single favourite, so I'll list a few.

HCBailly, for his funny jokes during JRPGs and a ton of catchphrases like ''BOSS TIME!''

ScottishDuck17 because of his infamous raging, over the top swearing and Benny Hill speed up editing.

Dilandau3000 because of his absolutely peerless URU playthrough and having a voice of a god.

Sam5000i because he was the best Call of Duty and FIFA commentator who came across as a really top guy. Shame he doesn't make videos anymore.

The Two Best Friends are the hypest of the lets players. They know stuff. I think I know more about wrestling and Mortal Kombat because of them.

Now, I may get a bit of flak for this, but my favourite LPer is DSP. Some people say he's a bit obnoxious, yes, he may be... Some may say he's a bit hotheaded, and this may be... That is why he's my favourite LPer. Also, his Heavy Rain and Phoenix Wright playthroughs are fantastic.

AlChestBreach does cool Fallout New Vegas/Skyrim mods, and he lets me bring out my spontaneous and immature side, without being annoying and childish.

I love you so much right now!

ALchestbreach is probably my favorite Let's Player, his montages are hilarious and he also does great spontaneous humor in his videos.

Aside from him I like Game Grumps, Hutch and Sea Nanners and the occasional Two Best Friends play, although I prefer GG to TBFP.

SuperSkarmory and Chuggaconroy were my first forays into the LP world and I like them quite a bit. It's just that I watch YouTube a lot less than back in the old days.

I'll jump on the Two Best Friends Play boat. Those guys are great, especially their Spiderman video.

On that note, as much as I like those two, I think I like Two Best Sisters Play even more. There's something just inheritly hilarious about Matt and Pat's voices coming out of ponies.


Also, as a runner-up, I'll nominate ProtonJon. He's pretty great. I especially like his four-player Battletoads videos.


And while I don't really consider them Lets Players, I'll also throw LifesAGlitchTV out there too.

I've recently seen a few discussions on how annoying let's players are, or how annoying and terrible let's plays are in general, so the question here is,

1. What are some of Your favorite Let's players?
2. Why?
3. Favorite style of let's play?

Personally i would have to say Nerd3 (Nerd Cubed) I find most of his jokes genuinely funny, and while i personally am not usually a fan of people that edit their videos, i find that he does so in a very compelling manner.

Personally my favorite style of let's plays are almost always blind, because a good let's player can turn a blind run into the most hilarious viewing, however i am aware that the exact opposite can happen with bad let's players.

So what about you?

My favorite Let's Player of all time is Tenjinmoop, a hilarious British person. Sadly, he's no longer active but he had some amazing videos. They perfectly blended informativeness with humor. Also, he mainly played Nintendo games and I absolutely adore Nintendo.

My current favorite Let's Player is Nerdcubed (Brofist, OP). He does have funny jokes and plus he's incredibly silly and has a short attention span, just like me.

I also quite like the former Gameanyone group (DavetheUsher, skorch82, Volvagia, Shadowzack, PitchingAce88, Batman9502). Their group videos are amazing.

It wouldn't be right to not mention Chuggaaconroy. While I don't watch his videos anymore, they were the first Let's Plays I ever saw and as such introduced me to the world of Let's Playing.

I also do watch quite a bit of TobyGames and Two Best Friends Play.

As for my favorite style, I like somebody who can maturely inform me of the good and bad things about a game and provide fair judgment as to whether or not I should play it while also simultaneously entertaining me with immature humor.

I also don't like Let's Players who yell or swear excessively.

I completely forgot, GPLP, Graham And Pauls Lets Play. Why has that not got love yet with the Escapist crowd? Why is it good? Well it's Graham and Paul. Duh. It's updating really really slowly at the moment though.

I also like that they choose the less popular games, so it's a new experience all the time. Dante's Inferno was probably the best. (I guess that games more common than the others though)

THEY DID MORE LET'S PLAYS? I absolutely adored their Legaia 2 one, almost enough to actually buy the game when I found it.

As for the question...

Two Best Friends Play/TheSw1tcher: I find them to be incredibly funny and surprisingly informative. Also, I use the word "hype" regularly and unironically now.

Achievement Hunter: A bunch of funny guys fucking around in video games.

Special mention goes out to Pokecapn and the Posse's LP of Sonic 2006. Watching the entire thing from start to finish is an experience like no other. If you haven't watched it yet, give it a try.

If you're looking for sensible pro/con of game i would recommend checking out angry joe (he doesn't really do let's plays, he reviews) but i often find that he always zeros in on features that you are likely to like and stuff that you probably wont like. He also does a few sketches with each review that range from very funny, to pretty painful to watch , but whenever he gives reasons for liking/disliking a game he tends to be pretty fair imo.

To everyone else keep the names coming, filling up my what to watch list for the next year or so XD

I don't watch many LP's, but I absolutely love Game Grumps, Sw1tcher, and Chuggaconroy. I usually don't care much about the game when I'm watching an LP; I prefer to focus on the banter, or interesting game lore/trivia they might be talking about.
