Severe lack of Sp00nerism...
I love him because he's fucking hilarious and he's pretty good at games
And the LP style I prefer is live commentary like all The Creatures

Well my favorite let's players used to be Slowbeef and Diabetus, but they haven't really done an LP in a long time. So..

My favorite let's players are Chip and Ironicus. I find them hilarious, and they do really good on the production side of things. Or..one of them does, I guess.

Their style seems to be my favorite, the expert and the new guy. Seems to work perfectly for games imo.
Basically this. The Beef & Betus, Chip & Ironicus, Proteus & Suspicious, Psychadeliceyeball, Baldurk, Dave_O....generally most of the SA Goons.

The runners up bracket
the runaway guys come close, but some of there stuff is just loud obnoxious screaming, see little big planet.
Proton john, UPLOAD FASTER DANG IT. should have made a very bad joke there, i will refrain....
chugaconroy (sp? honestly not bothered to look that one up), i just dont like the games he lps some times, or just dont want to spoil them for myself when i finally get round to playing them, his lps are good, watch the mario rpgs and enjoy, but well you know how it goes.
and alot of others

ones i used to like and hate

GameGrumps, ProtonJon, Niichts, and Jerma985. That is all.

GameGrumps just freakin' funny, ProtonJon just sounds intelligent and funny at the same time. Niichts and Jerma985 make my favorite shooter videos (mainly TF2 content)

Also SeaNanners and Hutch make some pretty great videos sometimes. Especially their early Trouble in Terrorist Town videos (they're the best gameplay videos on Youtube like ever).

I love watching Best Friends Play, but my absolute favourite is a English guy called Heartless (or 666theheartless666).

The lets play that got me hooked on his stuff was this'un:

His best let's play was Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. His sanity seems to just drain away towards the end of the game because it's so terrible.

Used to like Tobucus, but his voice has got on my nerves, he's not very funny anymore and he only ever seems to play Minecraft or Happy Wheels nowadays :/
Yay! How nice to see another person that enjoys/knows 666theheartless666!
I love his LPs because he's so fun, and random (although that sometimes gets on my nerves, because he causes his own death many times (see Dark Souls for this).
I don't think I have a particular taste of LPs, since I also like RoahmMythrill (Perfect Runs Buster Only Megaman Games - and other games, like Silent Hill and Secret of Mana), whom is very professional about his LPs, does quite a research for them, when it's interesting.
It also came to my knowledge about 3 or 4 months ago about the Runaway guys, which is a combination of Chuggaconroy, Protonjon and NCS, most of the time. I like to watch they interact while playing (it made me miss playing with other people and how fun it could be).

The amount of PewDiePie fans depress me greatly.. Maybe I should get a recording program and play Slender while yelling about rape. PewDiePie is to youtube what Honey Boo Boo is to The Learning Channel.

That said I don't watch Let's Plays, I watch Game Grumps, but their very much not a Let's Play. I watched Yahtzee do a few let's plays, that was fun. I do have a friend who does let's plays by the name of TehCrazGaming. Go watch him on the tubeyous

This guy has a certain rustic charm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TgBQFP81aQ&feature=g-user-u

I tend to not watch lets plays though unless I cant find a walkthrough, because I feel it is a waste of time. Why would you watch someone play video games, when you could just play them yourself, and if you cant play it dont bother watching it as games are meant to be played not watched.
No problem if you really enjoy watching others play games though, as long as you dont make me watch you.

I watched a few episodes of TheAuzzieGamer playing Hitman Blood Money yesterday that were entertaining and informative all at the same time which was a bonus for me.

I've been watching a guy called Stratafyre from SomethingAwful do an LP of Bungie's Oni which is pretty entertaining as well.

Lastly DeliciousCinnamon's LP of that Vietnamese Pokemon Crystal is pretty entertaining if for nothing other than the horrible Engrish that seems to make up most of the games text.

Tobuscus is the only LP guy that i can really sit down and watch on a consistent basis. I enjoy how he puts a clear effort into his LPs to keep them entertaining, not just saying what he's doing in a monotone voice like many other LPs, and i appreciate the fact that he avoids swearing. I dont have a problem with swears, but it seems like a lot of other LPs are just someone saying "shit, fuck!" every five seconds and it gets a bit grating. Also, it's a small touch, but his audio quality is really great. A lot of LP channels have awful audio quality, which really detracts from the video, but his LPs have really good audio consistency.

Two Best Friends are hands down the funniest to watch though, at least their one-time 20 minute videos. Their true LPs are still damn funny, but i dont really have a preference for the games they play so i dont get too invested in them.

Game Grumps are a different thing for me. On one hand, their absolutely hilarious. On the other, i feel like i'm just an outsider creeping in on two friends playing a game, as they talk about friends they know, things their working on, etc. For the most part I like their stuff though.

The Freelance Astronauts. Just about everything they've done has me in stitches. Unfortunately, the one that had me laughing the most of the one's I've watched, New Super Mario Bros Wii, is nowhere to be found!

Still, though, with almost legendary Let's Plays like Majora's Mask and "The Kickboat Saga," they will always have a special place in my heart. It makes me sad that they seem to have broken up or something, as they've stopped making videos.

For those of you who haven't seen them, a summary:

Also, if anyone can point me to some sort of repository that still has all the NSMBW playthroughs, PLEASE do so! I never got to finish watching that one.
http://www.youtube.com/user/magnacat93/videos?flow=grid&view=0

They have all of the NSMBW videos and a ton more from what I can say.

Does anyone have any LP's they can recommend me? I watch quite a few of them at my desk at work, they provide excellent background noise for me to occasionally tune into and enjoy during downtime.

Preferably LP's on Youtube. Workplace has blocked off places like LParchive, twitch.tv, and even google video.

I had my time enjoying Yogscast quite awhile back before their Shadow of Israphel series. I haven't gotten into their most recent content. Back when they began their first Minecraft:Survival series, I liked it a lot because of how terrible they actually were at survival and how they just didn't understand the game yet.

I watched a bit of Game Grumps as well. Overall, they're a funny duo - But I get burned out on them quickly, and I get tired of their shtick.

I'm currently watching an LP of Snatcher by slowbeef and Diabetus. Which I am enjoying greatly. A nice balance between joking, being informative, and immersing themselves in the game. This is the sort of LP I would like the most, I think.
Another example along those lines was an X-COM: UFO Defense LP by Kikoskia.

I guess I like it when the LP'ers I see nerd out immensely with the game they're playing.
I have a few recommendations I think you'd like:

https://www.youtube.com/user/GrimithR you can never have too much grim-grams...he does a lot of different things, but his best are his adventure games and RTS, he can be a bit NSFW, especially when he gets pissed at a game, but I always find him entertaining

https://www.youtube.com/user/thedeathcat does a lot of tactical games, ArmA, SWAT, things like that, and I've found him to be really entertaining with those, great with tactics and he can be a pretty funny guy

https://www.youtube.com/user/paulsoaresjr he does very family friendly commentary, with a focus on minecraft videos, but he's doing an LP of the new X-com now that's really good, on classic ironman setting

https://www.youtube.com/user/MysteriousJG does a lot of RPGs and adventure games, can be hit and miss, but worth a look :)

https://www.youtube.com/user/ZeZeZeZerfall/featured also does a lot of old-school rpg and adventure games

and lastly (shameless self-plug)

https://www.youtube.com/user/thesavageoblivi0n I only have 2 done and the quality isn't the best, but I'm working on getting a better setup and improving my commentary (feedback is always appreciated :) )

Well, people already mentioned Chip and Ironicus, so I have to say: DarkId, he makes still images Lps but his style is impecable.

Failing that, I gotta say that my favorite LP of all time is from princess maker 2 by SythOrange
http://lparchive.org/Princess-Maker-2/
I won't say anything to avoid spoil it, but is basically the game if Gendo (of evangelion) was the father.

in the same vein there's Chewbot with his animal crossing LP, Holy holiness, is way better that what you expect:

id like to show some love for necroscope http://www.youtube.com/user/Necroscope86 I just find him some what refreshing due mainly to voice (he is from Leeds in north Yorkshire UK) and unlike alot of LPers he refuses to curse on his videos (although the odd one will come out when he is really scared like when playing SCP or amnesia)

Dont really watch lets plays as such but I have enjoyed a few by Miles123 or Maximillian whatever you want to call him I enjoy his fighting game stuff more such as the Online warrior series and of course assist me but thats a bit different.

The few lets plays I have watched of his of other games are entertaining enough particularly when he has a few of the assist me cast there as well.

Whole lot of video LPs here. No love for the old screenshot? Mr. Swoon and his drunken, rage-filled Monster Rancher? GuavaMoment's frightening dedication to the X-Com franchise? Or my favourite, The Dark Id, playing godawful games and making them look almost entertaining?

Though on the video front, I've always loved Pokecapn and his group. Medibot especially.

God damn Medibot.

1. Gavin, Geoff, Ray, Michael and Jack from Rooster Teeth
2. They are ungodly funny.
3. Honestly I'm split here because as much as I love the funny Achievement Hunter Let's Plays I like No-Comentary Full Perfect Playthroughs Let's Play's even more

SplitPlaythru on Youtube is my second favorite Let's Player

Because this...

Here are a couple of reasons why my videos are great.

1. Whenever possible, I play with female protagonists - Girl Power Forever!

2. I understand why you watch my videos. Therefore my videos contain no annoying commentary which would bore you with stuff you don't have to know.

3. Coverage of some obscure titles - rarely will you see a top channel covering a niche game, like Gal*Gun for example.

4. I think I am pretty up-to-date with keeping the playthrus from start to finish. Granted, there are some unfinished (like Alundra), but I just lack motivation. Recently I deleted several playlists which contained nothing but story cutscenes.

5. I upload the entire game content, most/all cutscenes included, as well as battles (where they matter).

Depends on where it is.

On Youtube, I prefer the likes of ScottishDuck17 and Chuggaconroy, who do fun LPs of platformers, and the Freelance Astronauts, as well as the RunAwayGuys.

At LParchive, I particulary like the Let's Plays of TheDarkId and Rojocohobo's Pokemon LPs.
