Wow. Took you long enough to watch an anime.
Idr my first. I was sooo young.
Like card captor or sailor moon or pokemon or sumthin like that.
But I really got into anime with BDZ and YuYu Hakusho.
I found it on my own accord and have loved it since.

I do not remember the name of my first anime. I am going to outline a few things and perhaps someone will know it.
I was about 10 when I watched (it was on Bravo) it so my description may be vague.
It was about a group of mercenaries who are driving through a desert. They come across a town which is surrounded by a circular wall with entrances on the N S E W. There is a big clock tower in the middle.
The stay the night in an inn. The town doesn't have much of population. There is a blond female character. During the night, a creepy girl knocks on her door and gives her a litter which basically says something like "You are never going to leave alive" or something like that.
Next morning the group try to leave. they drive out of one of the exits and instead of leaving, the are driving in the exit on the opposite side of the town.
At some point in this anime, there are zombies.
At one point, its pointed out that the blond is using a gun that's too heavy for her. she wants to use it anyway as its sentimental, but it sprains her wrist. She also wears a bullet on a chain which is also sentimental.
I don't really remember much more than that. If someone can tell me the name of this anime I would be so happy because nobody seems to have ever heard of it and I'd really like to see it again.

3) Yes it did. Im one of the bigger anime nuts on the site, along with about 20-30 others. If you were a member of the anime fans group you'd know this.

3) yes, saw a bunch of mecha anime that i cant find or remember the name of, ninja scroll and too much studio ghibli.... these days its mostly gonzo titles and classic manga

Technically it was pokemon, but that doesnt really count, so Tenchi Muyo. My friend showed it to me when I was but 10yrs old. I didnt want to have anything to do with it for another 8 years because I realised what said medium meant to some VERY disgusting people on the internet...when i was 10.

2 My babysitter had cartoon network on all the time so I would watch it.
3 Over Time I got in to other anime Dragon Ball Z Pokemon Yu-Gi-Oh etc but I probally would have gotten into the other stuff anyway even If I didn't see speed racer.

1) Devil Man.
2) Saw it on Sci-Fi when I was a tyke.

My first anime series was (big surprise) the Pokemon TV show. Right before Sailor Moon (yeah, yeah, burn me all ya like).
Before that, however, I saw Totoro by Hayao Miyazaki. That was the anime for me at the time. I was at a friend's and he said we should watch it. We did, and I was impressed.

2) My cousin had Cartoon Network), I didn't. We'd watch Toonami at his place. He'd save episodes onto VHS for me.
3) Definitely. Cue running to the TV every day after school for my anime.
Edit: Now that I think about it, it was probably Pokemon or Sailor Moon (yes, really). These 4 were definitely my firsts, and Pokemon didn't show on Cartoon Network back then so I could actually watch it.

Long: NO! It was the most agonising pieve of video I've seen. The anime style of drawing and animating gives me a headache. Also I hated the Japanese soundtrack. If something, it made sure I'll never watch any anime for a veeery long time.

The anime that made me want to watch more was Gundam Wing Zero. I loved it. Who doesn't love giant robots fighting one another? In space no less? The show impacted me so much (nerdiness coming) that every male character I have ever named since the finale I have named Hiro (after the protagonist, Heero Yuy).
