Really? All of them? Even Enya? C'mon, everybody has a sound that they dislike. What's yours?
I do not dislike any style of music either.
And unlike most people who make that claim I'm fairly certain I've heard almost every type of music that has ever been invented.

I dislike Metal intensely it all sounds like mindless thrashing and bad lyrics, I can just about stand hard Rock like Motorhead but thats the utter limit. I like my tunes like I like my women, groovy swinging and with a guitar in them. :)
You like your women to be impaled with a guitar?
Somones never watched eddie Izzard, all will be explained.

It's the best thing to happen to music since caveman started banging rocks together.

There are some pretty decent metal bands out there, and some who could set the world on fire if they would just stop shouting.

Realistically though I'd probably listen to anything so long as it isn't the sodding Arctic Monkeys.

It really depends. I'm extremely partial to progressive metal. Bands like Queensryche, Dream Theater, Rush, Symphony X, Kamelot, Secret Sphere, Spheric Universal Experience, and Kamelot come to mind for things like this. I like others, Disturbed is a decent band, but I can't really stand stuff where it sounds like the singer ate a bucket of gravel before singing or anything like that.

I like Dragonforce a bit for their long guitar riffs, particlularly Through The Fire and The Flames.

Not very keen on other metal, for a variety of reasons:
1. Many are just about Satanic things or whatever (I'm a Christian, so I take offense at that.)
2. The screaming in the songs quickly drives me insane.
3. Many of the singers are drug addicts or abuse some sort of substance (Yes, I know that's profiling, but it's mostly true).

Myself? I'm fond of Christian music and most of its sub-genres, but my absolute favorite would have to be Instrumental Music (that's music without words, in case you're thrown off by big words).
Not all metal is satanic. See Protest the Hero, As I Lay Dying, and August Burns Red.

I love it, like almost every sub-genre except the most grindy death metal. My favorite metal bands are In Flames, Children of Bodom, John 5 (actually a solo artist), Rob Zombie, Dragonforce, Marilyn Manson and Sabaton.

Since metal is getting back into the mainstream for the first time since the 80s (thanks primarily to bands like Disturbed)...
This hurts me physically. While I could care less if people like Disturbed or not, metal has been alive and thrashing, arguably more so than when bands like Disturbed showed up.
-Early 80's had Metallica and Megadeth
-Mid 80's had Slayer, Mayhem, and Vader
-Late 80's had Meshuggah
-Early 90's had Cradle of Filth, In Flames, Behemoth, Belphegor, and Nile
-Mid 90's had Dimmu Borgir and Children of Bodom

You get the idea. If anything, metal exploded after bands like Metallica and Slayer brought another dimension to the word heavy. Before them, there were bands like Iron Maiden, Motorhead, and Black Sabbath. Good bands, but they're not nearly as heavy when you consider songs like Slayer's Black Magic on their debut album.

Metal has been getting stronger and stronger, you just haven't been looking in the right direction.

Metal is Awesome. Thrash metal is awesome, death metal is awesome, power metal is awe- er, epic, heavy metal is awesome. No nu-metal. Or black.

I listen to pretty much nothing but it and hard rock. I love it, but I have to say, I don't hold Disturbed in very high regard. They did well with Stricken, Down With the Sickness and Facade, but they're mostly a very bland form of Nu-Metal.

While there are some modern metal bands I enjoy(mostly because they're guitar-work is so fun to play), such as Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, and Shadows Fall...
The bands that are the true examples of awesome metal are: Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera, and the various other metal bands of the 1980's. Every other metal band in the 90's and today are heavily influenced by these guys.

I'm a pretty big metal fan, but I'm definitely open to other genres. I just find metal to be my favorite to listen to. I need something angry in my life, and metal fills that role quite nicely.

I'm not a fan really. I used to listen to metal when I was little (my first gig was Iron Maiden when I was 8), but I sort of grew out of it. It depends what you want from music. For me, it's the lyrics that matter the most and as I'm a singer, I like stuff I can sing along to as well. Metal doesn't offer good lyrics (imo most metal lyrics are pretty embarrassingly bad) so it's not for me. I'm also not usually impressed by solos & stuff so I get a bit bored listening to metal and it sounds pretty samey to me. I still like the odd song though. I guess my overall opinion is 'meh'. The main thing I don't like about metal is the pretentious fans. Not saying they all are but it's the only genre where I find most people think their favourite genre is the only good one and delight in saying how rubbish everything else is.

I love metal, it's the bulk of what I listen to. Sometimes the screaming can get a little excessive, and I'm not into bands like Gogoroth, who use religion as a basis for all their music. I prefer Power metal, thrash, hardcore, and black metal the best, I think.

The Scandinavian and Norwegian black metal bands are some of the best I've heard in the genre, but I also enjoy old school thrash like Metallica.

That said, I'm also a fan of classic rock, techno, and some rap. Not that hip hop crap, the older stuff that was actually good.
