I thought both reviews were great, although I was a bit thrown by hearing a non Britaussie accent for some reason, and the cursing actually made me cringe a bit.
Also, can anyone make a soundclip of 2:35 (GYAHHHHH!) that could be used on a cell phone? ^^;

Hahaha, nice work Graham.
Can't believe people are still ripping off the generic God of War formula...and in anime form, no less...urgh.
Hate speech was noteworthy, but you've got to mean it like the machine of anti-establishment rage that is Yahtzee...you guys at Unskippable are too calm and amiable in comparison.

Another surprise, Yahtzee...though I wouldn't have minded another coordinated double-whammy on Star Ocean (considering Yahtzee's supreme hatred of JRPG's I guess it's a miracle he even did the opening cinematic).
Hmm...not exactly a great title to start your exploration of the RTS genre with.
I see Halo Wars as kind of an experiment to continue the Halo franchise on console in a genre it's largely incompatible with.
The guys at Ensemble should be commended just for the effort and making it near-functional.
Aside from that, I always saw the cinematics as one of its greatest merits...they're superbly rendered with solid characters (and decent voicework) and for the most part, packed with action in the Halo universe setting. That's more than enough for me.

Edit:

Shame one shittily designed gimmick mission put him off of the rest of the game...
He might've found something to redeem it in his eyes.

Wasn't the best of ZP, but the Unskippable guys did quite good.
I love ZP, i love Unskippable, but they don't mix terribly well.
Oh well at least it mixes up the norm, and it was good still :D

Now to wait for next Wednesday..*sigh* back to the time machine....

I suffered a lot from the mid review section where he was talking about "They were RIGHT THERE. We did NOT lose contact!", similar events happen in various other games. I haven't played Halo Wars (A bit too new for me, and I'm not an idiot who plays RTS's on consoles) but I'm a Starcraft veteran so I get the genre.

Disagree. Nice change of pace on both parts, although there wasn't much difference as far as the Zero Punctuation review went. I was kind of hoping they'd both be talking at the same time, but I guess it would have been hard to make that work.

Yahtzee was hilarious! He's the best when he's angry : D

The first review reminded me quite a lot of all those ZP ripoffs on YouTube, only done slightly better, at least it wasn't done in MS Paint and with a green background or some other shit :p

Yahtzee, your biggest mistake is having Halo Wars as your first step into the genre. Dow2 is easier, deeper, epic, and less random and arbitrary in its missions. Its more tactical then strategy, but it does a great job.

Why doesn't Yahtzee review any adventure games?

Well other than the obvious reason is that he's popular for ragging on games that the majority of people are currently interested in.

Still it has occured to me that he has commented on adventure games being a dying breed, if he did a review on one once in a while perhaps he would increase their popularity.

Overall he claims RTS/RPG type players like me are nerds (which we are), and people who play action games and shooters are for the most part a group of brainless retards. The only group that goes uncriticized are the adventure game players like him and my stepmother. Heck Yahtzee has designed his own adventure games.

Generally speaking they are still cranking out dozens of adventure games like "Rhiannon: The Golden Bough", "Overclocked", "A Vampyre's Tale", and "The Ghost In The Sheet", not to mention the ongoing creation of Nancy Drew and Barbie adventure games.

Now I am personally not an adventure game player, but I would find it endlessly amusing to see Yahtzee come on and sell us all on the virtue of adventure games and why they are superior to other types of games, rather than endlessly picking on the flaws of generes he has constantly trashed.

Please oh mighty Yahtzee, tell us why adventure game players are the master race, and apparently superior to all other forms of gamers...

At least it would be something a little differant (diabolical laughter).

BTW> Hey Escapist Management, since you guys can obviously force Yahtzee to review games remember that this month DYNASTY WARRIORS GUNDAM 2 comes out! I definatly think Yahtzee should be made to review it, simply the concept is likely to cause the most delightful screams of agony.

Make sure he like logs at least 20 hours with it though to be fair. You can also probably make some money by selling recordings of him playing it (given his tastes) as torture porn in the escapist store!
