I liked Space Marine because it was just so camp and ridiculous
You found Space Marine camp? That's genuinely interesting, could you explain in what way you found it effeminate please?

I don't know about you but I prefer destroying robots over humans or living creatures. Usually they just fall apart into chunky pieces of meat which I don't enjoy seeing but robots. They explode like little firecrackers. Boom boom explosion fireworks! But then again my foray into games with guns has been ratchet and clank and the star wars battlefront series.

I have a question: Who on earth is that face that Yhatzee keeps uusing over and over again in all his reviews? Like in this one, when he mentions Shooter Season 2011, he has the guy with a bandana on. I'm just curious who this person is.

Another entertaining video Mr.Croshaw.

I bought the game myself knowing what I was going into and I found it quite fun for the few hours that it lasted.

Mr. Crowshaw, I'll have you know that some of Mr. Harrison's post-Beatle work is wildly celebrated among the community. Granted his decline following the "Living in the Material World" album was a large drop for him and much of his fanbase, I do agree that his work as a whole is better than Mr. Starkey's. However, it should be noted that most of Mr. Starkey's more popular songs are written (or co-written) by Mr. Harrison. To summarize, go listen to All Things Must Pass while playing a shooter and see if it syncs up in anyway. It should provide for a meaningful subtext of the game, as the violence of the game will indeed pass on.

You know, the comment about "What can you expect for less than $30?" kinda goes out the window when in the past few months have gotten Bastion, Binding of Isaac, and Frozen Synapse, all for less than $30, and every one of them has more replay than most AAA releases this year. Hell, Bastion is a better game in every facet than most AAA releases this year, beaten only by Portal 2, which had less replay until the new patch.

i was going to get this but now i think i will wait for it to go down in price first
That's your loss. It's a fun game and I enjoyed his review, but if you let a reviewer like Yahtzee, who's reviews are meant to be entertaining, make the decision on what games you should buy, you are really missing out.

I loved the demo but I can't justify this game for $25, under 10 and I'm getting it immediately. Shooting robots is just as much fun as shooting people. The environment is hectic but that is part of the charm, everything is so chaotic.

I did lol about the 2 roombas and a wheelie bin description though.

I loved the hell out of Bastion and it does beat the crap out of all AAA title that came out this year from a money::fun ratio... but what replay value?

I beat it once. Then I did a new game plus and powered all the way through it with ease. Upgraded all the weapon, got all the drinks/gods, beat all the 'Dream Stages'. Unlocked all the achievements. It's awesome and all, but I don't see much point in playing it again.

Jesus christ, every time I walk into a ZP thread the first poster would always either have a warning or outright shot in the legs!

OT: I'm not too surprised how brutal Yahtzee was to the game, I am surprised that he left us on a positive note.

I mean there's so much brown there, right?

The game is far from perfect of course (I think the 75 it has on meta-critic is pretty accurate. Add 10 points if you're a fan of the ip), and there's plenty of thing to find to hate about it I'm sure, and Yahtzee sure did hate it... but it feels it's mainly because he hates the IP, which he's allowed of course and Yahtzee has never been known for his objectivity... but still, it's rather odd to see a game get so much right from the Yahtzee's 'What make a good game check list' and still earn his vitriol.
Dude, you play the game?! It's all brown all the time.

Besides, forget about this game is very mediocre overall. Comparing Space marines with Dawn of War series is obvious that SM was made without any attention. All the thing transpire; ?console games are stupid, we from Relic had to do it to not lose your jobs?.
I?m not saying that I don?t like console games but, for space marines, it?s obvious that Relic find them shallow, boring and stupid. After having played SM I just wanna forget about it and wait for Dawn of War 3.

This game was just a big pile of shit. Having a low budget is no excuse, if your founding is sparse then you will simply have to prioritize.

There are a lot of flash games out there whose graphics are way less sophisticated than those of HR, and yet somehow manages to be far more interesting and engaging.

"I gave your mum a Hard Reset last night and it certainly rebooted her operating system, if you know what I mean." -Yahtzee

No, I... I don't. Could someone walk me through that?

The gameplay is slow-paced and console-like, the controls feel bulky and awkward, weapons take relatively long to switch, there's a sprint button that takes away everything except forward movement, and most encounters are in cramped spaces.

This is NOT Painkiller. Not by a long shot.
Sounds pretty much like the impression I got from watching those gameplay videos. I'm surprised that Yahtzee still basically gave out a recommendation, though. Did you play it through to the end? Does it perhaps pick up after the initial slowness?

Hmm... I'm having fun with Hard Reset.

I'm playing it on Insane difficulty and, holy shit, it really is difficult. And frustrating. Sometimes, that's exactly what I want. A game that makes me curse at my monitors like a mad drunken sailor because there is no chance I ever beat that level without playing by a perfect 'choreography' devised through hundreds attempts, all ending in "resume last checkpont".

And I quite like the modular weapon system! I think it's very kind to let me choose whether to play with a shotgun or a grenade launcher or one of the fancy electric thingies (which I haven't purchased yet). Also the special upgrades on the weapons are really nice.
