Meh, as someone who tried to defend the game from Yahtzee's review a bit back, I can say that I found this genuinely hilarious.

I thought it was really, really smart to not attack the fan base in general, to respond to specific emails, etc. I felt more like I was on a Comedy Central Roast of _____ as opposed to feeling like I was under attack.

That's important because Yahtzee was able to answer criticisms without alienating his own fan base---though heaven knows if he really wants us around anyway!

Nononononono, you're completely missing the entire point of these reviews, those comments and of a sharp sword.

The mail wouldn't have pissed me off, it'd have made me laugh, as I'm assuming it did with Yahtzee, now, replying to these ridiculous letters make for comedy, pointing out how daft most of the points they make are.

I agree with the people who said things similar to this for the most part. SSBB was awesome for me, but I still laughed my ass off at Yahtzee's review. My point still stands though. If he's going to do things like this anymore, I might just leave. I come here to find out whether a game is ok or not and laugh. I DON'T come here to listen to him complain (or whatever he does in this one) about hate mail. Only one of my wants will be satisfied then. What I'm saying is this:

The point of these videos originally was to review games and make people laugh. By throwing in this video he has added this one ingredient to the great stew and almost turned it into shit stew. One more of these and Zero Punctuation will no longer have its original greatness.

Has he even done a DS game review yet?

and lol at the white enough comment, but I disagree with the most balanced generation comment. Srsly, the 360 has the most "alright I guess I'll rent it" games and the Wii has like 3 gems with all the minigames while the PS3 has...well, I don't know.

Yahtzee's fanbase consists of people who are tired of ignorant fanboys infesting the internet, and who enjoy seeing them get their asses handed to them.

Are you honestly so naive that you think anyone even CARES about your opinion on a videogame? A word of advice: they don't.

Actually Yahtzee seems to have an abundance of his own fanboys, there has been a wealth of comments in this thread that dwarf the letters he reviewed in terms of stupidity.

1- I called yahtzee a butthurted reviewer, not you
2- I loved the SSBB review because he points out a lot of flaws the game has.
3- I didn't liked this one.

He would say a lot of things, none of them polite. If you no longer like Yahtzee's humor, know that he isn't going to change it on your account. And pissing off the people that do like the humor isn't going to help your case.

Seriously, as someone who came of age in the days of the NES and the Sega Master System (both of which I owned), the whole console fanboyism issue is as old as dirt as far as I'm concerned. It's just an extension of common human conceit- "what I like is the best, you are stupid for not liking it, and what you like should fail because I don't like it". That's not to say that you can't find it in my chosen realm, PC gaming; witness "AMD vs. Intel", "nVidia vs. ATI", and so on. I'd say Yahtzee pinned it down pretty squarely- this current generation of consoles is one of the most balanced yet, and just about any sort of game is possible these days... but of course, you have that crowd who think every game released should be a clone of Halo 3, GTA IV, Final Fantasy VII or The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy (I might just be imagining that last one, though). Fanboyism will go away at about the time we can depend on the majority of the population not to act like drooling morons.

You can hold your breath if you want to. Blue really isn't my color.

Quite an amazing review, but then it's always fun to watch retards being destroyed by someone who spends most of his time doing just that. I love console wars and fan-boyz, largely because I own none of the consoles, and merely enjoying them at all my fanboy friends' houses.
