Heres a chuckle for ya' then.

The R.A.A.F's (Royal Australian Air Force) 77 Squadron's Mascot Symbol, for 40 years (give or take) has been Snoopy from his escapades with the Red Baron. If you ever see a F/A 18 Hornet (A Jet Plane) with a Snoopy symbol on it, that would be ours. :)

Bear in mind im going by availability in my area.
Katana/hatchet for melee.
My neighbors sniper (He wouldn't survive for a minute against zeds).
Thick leather outfit/ATV helm to protect against bites.
Retreat to nearby military air base for evac.
Go to north poll to rebuild society from there.
Also, adopt a penguin, meet Chuck Norris, punch Hannah Montana should she survive(god forbid), and start work on building a giant lava lamp for heat.

A Tank. Seriously, this is why zombie apocalypse can't really happen. What can a zombie do against a tank? Unless they all piled up on it and somehow managed to slow it down enough with fleshy bits to get it inmobile.

I was thinking the same thing but with a submarine, but what about when it runs out of fuel and ammo, or if you need to find food?

Fuel, food, water and ammunition. You're safe inside until need any of those.

ok so now my problem with a tank is that, they would just push the tank over on its side, yes now a days a tank my go fast BUT, like you said there are zimbies and also if you are in an urban place you would have the problem such as cars, debris, and mabye even people asking for your help in your way, witch in fact would slow you down so that would be my only problem... now I would go with one of them scooter things, like the one you push with your foot, light weight foldable into a backpack and faster then zombies, I would take with me a folding spade, machete, crowbar, .44 magunm with scope, and a mini pump 12g shotgun http://www.gunblast.com/images/SHOT_Show_2002/Day3/Dsc00545.jpg, this would keep me moveing give me ranged and close combat for getting away. as for armor, I have not fricin' idea as to such a manor, im a gun guy

Though I disagree with Mr Brooks on some points, for example I think its foolish to assume zombies can't run, I agree with him about the usefulness of low caliber (e.g. .22) weapons.

The ammunition is very common and light. They are less noisy or even nearly silent with sub-sonic rounds. The bullets lack the power to enter a skull and exit the other side, rather they ricochet around the skull, meaning hopefully a signal shot kill to the head.

Down side is no stopping power what so ever, if they hit a zombie anywhere else it won't be stopped or even be slowed.

Oh yeah and concerning music, I would never listen to music while hunting\fighting zombies need my situational awareness. Also not when driving to conserve what little extra fuel and probably not at my stronghold because it could draw zombies or other survivors. Practicing noise control/awareness is important

going on the assumption that it's the humans turned zombie by a virus so they're still "alive"

For practical, long range zombie mashing, I'd choose the spartan laser, I can just imagine annihalating a 10m line of zombie with one blast, fun. Though I would be sent flying after shooting it if I wasn't crushed, one look at my profile pic and you'll see why it would be tricky, hmm that could be an escape strategy... *aims at ground...fires*... *smacks into wall*
okay... bad idea.

realistically I would go with a couple of uzis, I could carry some boxes of ammo in a backpack though that would drastically limit my agility, plus the claws below would be slow to equip, limiting their use to assassinating lone zombies, same deal with the scythes though I could take on 2 maybe 4 at the most if I got them by complete suprise from behind. So the rest of my teenage years would be spent hiding, on the look out for potential lone targets until I built up the muscle mass needed to take on more.

10 of these claws, one for each finger.

closed fist punches can be amplified by the slicing blades, also since zombies are soft I might not break my fingers with a straight handed stab, with them on all fingers and thumb I could kill by latching on to the neck and puncturing from 5 points. Plus they would look so awesome.

this guy's scythes without the chains

For my song I would have Korpiklaani, Pine Woods [http://video.google.com.au/videosearch?q=pine+woods&hl=en&emb=0&aq=f#] or quite possibly happy little boozer.

*charging* happy little, happy little *BOOM* HAPPY LITTLE BOOZER

Metal baseball bat, purely because it's sturdy. That and a crowbar. Crowbars are bitchin'.

Nuclear submarines are called "nuclear" for a reason. It takes decades for them to run out of fuel.

If the zombies are strong enough to tip a tank I don't think anything that you have suggested would slow them down a tiny bit. You are aware that real tanks are pretty (sic.) heavy; a tiny Scimitar Tank (UK) is about 8tonnes, a challenger 2 tank (also UK) is 62tonnes. You are clearly not well grounded enough in reality to survive the apocalypse if you think you can do better with a .44 magnum (why a scope? pointless) than a challenger tank with a 120mm gun.

Scoped Ruger 10/22, 25rd mags loaded with CCI Stingers, with several bricks of spare ammo.
Short Barrelled Ruger MK3 Pistol, silenced as possible, uses same ammo.
Remington 870 Twelve guage with CYL Bore barrel, loaded with TT or #4 buckshot for those oh s*%# moments.
Cold Steel Spec Ops shovel and a titanium crowbar for duel wield melee.

Benifits of the load out, 10/22 is good out to 100 yds, .22LR and 12 gauage ammo extremely common. Shovel and crowbar are useful for things other than just killing zombies.

While I agree that the zombies would be unable to tip a MBT, you are probably good in any LAV or APC as well. The issue with an MBT is endurance, MBTs are notorious gas guzzlers and the big guns don't have sufficient ammo for an extended engagement. There is a reason why tanks are always employed with infantry, they aren't great at handling large groups, especially if you consider zombies aren't effected by the shock/fear factor of facing down an MBT.

Dude you have 8 fingers?
Edit: wait, thumbs don't count as fingers, do they?
