He only got worse after that. He started picking fights with people on Twitter because one guy was displaying how he detailed GTA V was with indoor environments., The person uploading video did that by shooting the people in the hospital displaying his gameplay. G-Man took offense to this, and try to act like he had the high moral ground. Pretty much everyone mocked him for it and called him out, and then he started deleting his Twitter post. People already took the screenshots, but pathetic man tried gaslighting his own audience and echo chamber. Some of them believed him of course, but most people outside of his little cult weren't buying it.
I watch gmanlives fairly regularly, but know nothing about him or his fandom. I subscribed because he does a lot of videos on retrogames. I sorta got the impression he's just a character, likes he's intentionally toxic the lols, with the whole duke nuke'm schtick. I watch him more just to put games on my radar rather than being an actual fan.

You can do as you wish, but I have to drop him because of is little fiasco there on Twitter. If the man can't admit his own mistakes and tries to gaslight his own audience, then I want no part in that. I was already kind of tired of his attitude beforehand, but that was the final straw. I'm just sick and tired of these reviewers having fragile egos or gets upset when somebody else "tells it like it is!" to them. Besides, I don't need him to figure out if a game is good or not. Especially if it's an FPS. I can more than make my own decisions. If I need help, there are plenty far better qualified. That includes you and @Worgen as well. I'll take your both of recommendations over his any day of the week.

Finished Laika: Aged Through Blood.

To be honest, as much as I appreciate what a strong hold the game has over the tone and dramatic unity of its story, the misery of it all soured me on the thing. Not to throw "misery porn" around like its nothing but the game got really repetitive with its violence. It's not that a character commits suicide, but several commit suicide. Or that whenever you're asked to find someone you always come upon their corpse. Or that so many children suffer so many nasty deaths (sometimes by your hand!). And that so many interactions between Laika and whoever end with her pulling a gun on them, threatening torture, telling them to go fuck themselves and then shooting them in the head. Just about every grisly thing that the game can think of will happen three or four times in a variety of different scenarios, to a bunch of different characters.

You know how all the 'Stranger' quests in RDR 1 and 2 always end on a macabre note? Often times much more explicitly than Laika. And yet I liked those, I was never put off by those. You can just chalk it to the quality of the writing but I guess ultimately what works in RDR is that each story means something different to the protagonist, and the nature of the twist is always different. Not to mention RDR has a wider array of emotion than Laika.

All this aside I like a game that is clearly made with a specific vision in mind and doesn't compromise. Laika is unlike anything I'd played before and its mix of influences and styles is so novel and disparate it could've only been made by these specific people, chasing a very specific vision. I value that. Yeah there's some jank and some irritating moments that made me swear at the people who made this but the thing's going to stay with me.

@Worgen, I am at Chapter 8 of Serious Sam 4, and I finally got the minigun! For maximum pleasure! I also got the perk upgrade that allows you to dual wield all heavy weapons. I going to agree with you now and say that this is the best Serious Sam game ever.

I know right, its so fucken good. When I finally played it I was actively pissed at reviewers who convinced me it wasn't very good. Its easily in my top 5 fps games. Which goes in no particular order.

Playing Foamstars because it's free this month on PS. Have a feeling it's not gonna be long before it goes F2P.

This is an aggressively mediocre 4v4 multiplayer best summarized as "We have Splatoon at home". You run around a vaguely cybernetic Vegas Strip arena, plastering everything and everyone in foam. You pick your character from a roster of hipsters designed by committee; there's supposed to be some kind of class balance but I see no reason to ever not pick the character with the fastest mid-range weapon.

Played a couple of hours and already got most trophies. Since there's no Platinum and I'm not one for premium pass bullshit I'm quite done with the thing.

Vietnam Combat Operations Tour of Duty (Public Release 2021)

A mod, based on C&C: Tiberian Sun, set in the Vietnam War. Rather buggy, and hard to play but very impressive. Too many units to scroll through when choosing wat to build, and hard to work out wha's going on...though that could add to the realism.

I finished Chapter 10. It's not that long, but not the shortest chapter. Currently on Chapter 11 of SS4. Poor Kenny. Sam's allies are dropping like flies. I feel bad for them and Sam. Good job on Croteam's part.

Getting towards the home stretch now. Serious Sam 4, Mission 14. I don't like how being in the oil rig slows your movement in the indoor parts and you can't run. Why bring this dumb mechanics back from BFE. No one likes it. It doesn't last long, but was never necessary to begin with. I am on the deck now and stopping there for tonight.

Argh, finally my NVA regulars and VC guerillas had irreparably damaged the USMC base, it's just another long grind to totally defeat them from here. And then the game crashes. Argh!

@Worgen, I finished Serious Sam 4. Great game overall, but there's some noticeable jank and the final boss is lame. I am still going to put into 25 Best FPS of all time list. I'll pick up Siberian Mayhem next week.

I've been replaying Final Fantasy 7 Remake to prime myself for Rebirth, and I'm about 19 hours in (I'm just after the "plate" section), but I'm having a harder and harder time feeling engaged by the combat. I finished this game once when it came out walking away from it quite negatively, mostly due to the stupid meta-ghosts, but overall the game's story, characters, and scenery are very charming and adventurous. But the combat is really getting to me now. I never liked how annoying and cumbersome the materia system is, but the actual combat is feeling like such a drag to me now. It's not active enough to satisfy as a reflex based mechanic, and it's not strategic enough to satisfy as a turn-based mechanic. It limply floats in the middle. It also doesn't help that the combat pretty much stays exactly the same from the first chapter onward; hold square to auto-attack till you can pull of an ability or spell. The only character who has slightly more going on with their fighting mechanics is Tifa, but even then it still leaves you wanting.

I really hope Rebirth adds some... well, anything.

Playing Tekken 8 again and playing arcade battle with various character and soundtrack changes. For those who want to fight the harder bosses, here how you do it: Getting 1 Perfect has you fight Azazel as the final boss, 2 Perfects has you fight True Devil Kazuya as the final boss, and 3 Perfects nets you True Angel Jin as the final boss.

During character customization, I tried making Azucena look like Blaze Fielding. I was able to mostly pull it off, except for the sweater underneath her leather jacket. To compensate, I made the sweater red, and the leather jacket black. Then made her boots red. I had to change her and the hair color to make her resemble Blaze more. So now I got a Latina Blaze.

Finished 'Momodora: Moonlit Farewell' Not that long a game but a very solid metroidvania, fantastic pixel art and an interesting story with some really cool boss fights.

Also finished "En Guard!" Shorter then Momodora but so damn charming with its campy swash buckling story and over the top characters and I love how everyone in the game knows how campy it is. Even when you "kill" the enemies they still talk to you about how they meant to lose and such. Its just charming campy and fun.

Still working on Yakuza like a dragon. Im at a point where I need to get a lot of money so I'm just kinda roaming around doing random things.

Also started playing a game called Chorus. Its a 3rd person space shooter game. The plot is that you were one of the high priests or something of this religious group and your prophet went a bit nuts and started turning on everyone who didn't follow it and long story short, he had you blow up a planet and you decided after that to nope out of there with the most advanced ship they had. The game looks great, combat is challenging and satisfying and I'm interested where the story will go. Finding things can be weird, I do wish the game had a radar, when you are trying to track enemies or hidden items all you have are screen icons, which work after you get used to them but still feel awkward to me. Either way, quite enjoying it.

Grabbed Armored Core 6 on sale and booted it up.

Took a moment to get past that fucking helicopter( though helis were supposes to be lightly armored?) and was able to get to the part where I can take it easy a little. Did a training mission, did a sortie, and played a little bit with the AC configuration screen.

So it's interesting. True to FROM tradition I have no idea who my character is other then some guy who apparently is brain damaged and being used as a Merc for...someone. And first thing I do is drop in, apparently illegally because first mission is all about finding someone who recently died and stealing their ID to fool the system into letting me do Merc work. So that's interesting.

But there's at least some explanation for Rubicon being the way it is.

Thats with the nerfed chopper also. At launch that thing was such a pain to deal with. Wasn't helped by really not being sure of the controls yet. I think it was bad design, not giving players access to the vr training before that stage.
