    I'm Israeli, unfortunately.

    Question for people Pro-guns....

Hmm. As an Israeli I'd like to express my opinion on this subject, but I can't seem to find a simple explanation of whether and to what extent is the gun regulation in the U.S.. Sorry about my ignorance and all, but is everyone (in the states which allow so) allowed to carry a gun? Is there any...

Poll: was i out of line?

You should have taken them out of your garden as you did, but not twist their ears. I understand their mother; I would be pissed too if a stranger caused pain of any kind to my children. It is not your place to discipline other people's children, and other people as well. Especially not...

That is actually... very helpful! Made me have some 'house' moments, when I suddenly knew what I was doing. Thanks!

I have an upcoming physics test. So, escapists, any suggestions for physics-thought-process enhancing music? (Heh, the captcha for this post was "math test".)

    Games with a good story-line.

For some time, I've been looking for PC games with a good plot. I also have a fondness for free-roaming games, such as fallout 3/new vegas, skyrim etc. I've completed the mass effect series, and the bioshock one, too. I've also completed all PC AC games. Any suggestions?

    Why do people enlist?

The Israeli service differs depends on the unit you're assigned to. What you say is taught here during the years of school (swimming at elementary, first aid at high school, encouragement to train in some kind of martial arts). An army service is different than what you describe. A military is...

    Why do people enlist?

I don't think I can without a reason. I can do that in addition to my army service, but what's the point of that :P

    What was your profession?

    Why do people enlist?

You're missing the big picture. What you say is a 'buttered', easy mandatory service. Here it's at least 3 years long, with long periods away from home for combat soldiers, and with a high chance you'll be called to serve again at any time after your service as a reservoir soldier. I believe...

    Why do people enlist?

Look, I'm just before my service, so I'm probably thinking differently than what I'd think at the end of my service. First of all, if the U.S. had the same mandatory service like we have here, you'd have a HUGE army, and a lot more people handling the bureaucracy. Sure, the army seems to...

    Why do people enlist?

"Caring professions"? What does that mean?

    Why do people enlist?

So, what you're actually saying is the decision to enlist is usually because of financial reasons?

    Why do people enlist?

Well, not really. I'm fit for combat (the army does something called "combat profiling"). I have no real reason, as far as the army's concerned, to exchange my service, nor do I want to do so. Why escape something that's a big part of my society, anyway?

    Why do people enlist?

Same. Intel doesn't want me for some unknown reason. Navy instead I suppose.
