The problem with games that are juevenile and lack depth is that when they're as popular and successful as Call of Duty it promotes MORE games that are juevnile and lack depth because the games sell better that way. Meanwhile games that actually have a semblence artistic merit and creativity get left collecting dust on the shelves because the bigger, popular, and brainless titles get more attention.Vescosein said:Who cares, the series is fun to people and faulting people for liking something that's not "deep" is just ignorant. Because obviously intelligent people can only enjoy deep and meaningful games and fun isn't subjective at all.
I like Dr. Who and that's for kids and lacks any real depth, but millions of adults like it also both stupid and intelligent.
Im really just shoehorning my frustrations here, but who cares about this?
People who dislike call of duty are far more annoying than those who do like it, the haters never shut the fuck up. You can't watch any youtube video with an FPS without kids saying "derp it's better dan call of duty"
Anyway, of course the games lack depth and are easy juvenile fun. But the point is that its fun for many people regardless of whatever intelligence you think someone has. The people who relate what someone likes to a persons intelligence are the real ignorant ones because obviously the world is black and white in terms of enjoying things and intelligence.
Sounds like the entertainment industry.lucky_sharm said:The problem with games that are juevenile and lack depth is that when they're as popular and successful as Call of Duty it promotes MORE games that are juevnile and lack depth because the games sell better that way. Well they're both depressingly average and uninteresting. They're kinda similar when you think about it.katsumoto03 said:Wait... Did you just equate Harry Potter with Justin Beiber? This entire article is null.

My bad. I've seen enough overreactionary stuff from gamers these days that it was easy to believe you weren't!JNA17 said:I was joking 0_0.DracoSuave said:NO!JNA17 said:so all of sudden were back to saying video games are child's play? I'm confused i thought you people wanted video games to be treated equally like T.V., Books, Music, Movies, etc...
The article is saying children like call of duty because it has elements that children enjoy.
That's not the same thing as saying gaming is a kiddie thing STOP THE INSANITY
In a weird way, that makes sense. And sadly true, as i am sure you are familiar with some of the Skyrim threads recently haha.DracoSuave said:My bad.
