This may be the hardest thing I've ever done, but here goes...

FFVI made it really hard to find everyone after the Apocalypse (close enough to it, anyway)
... Also Gogo (Inside a monster om a random island? Seriously)

...Actually, that felt pretty good

this is an old one:

In Chrono Trigger (AAAAALLL the way back on the SNES), certain weapons were distinctly hard to get. While that's no big deal, normally (after all, part of the fun is finding the damn things), two in particular irk me. The first, Lucca's ultimate gun (the Wondershot) is a chore to get with a lackluster payoff; get moonstone. Place moonstone in sun temple. go to future. Find moonstone gone. Hunt through the ages to see where the hell it went. Get moonstone back. Return stone to temple. Go to future (again). Fight ridiculously hard boss. Take stone to Lucca's dad. Get gun. It must be said, however, that this isn't what irks me; it's what the end result is. After all of this (which I paraphrased a bit), you get a weapon who, while capable of dealing obcene amounts of damage, is also fully capable of returning a damage count of 1. One. Single digit. The BEST GUN, can do one damage. Lucca's ultimate weapon deals damage dependent on how much time you've spent playing the game, and what second it is right that moment. This, while an interesting mechanic, is not something you put on the ultimate weapon.

The other weapon complaint I have is for Ayla (for those of you who haven't played the game, this is the smoking hot blonde cavewoman who can kill things with her BARE HANDS). Technically, Ayla doesn't get a weapon. She can't equip anything, and you can't buy anything for her; her weapon slot just says "Fist" (which, frankly, is three kinds of bad-ass right there). What they don't tell you is that her Fist levels up, depending on what level she is. Her ultimate "weapon," which she achieves at level 96, is Bronze Fist (the damage is absurd). However, as anyone who's played the game can tell you, leveling anyone up to 96 is a pain in the ass. While this may sound like pithy whining, I would honestly have preferred her ultimate weapon to be some obscure fetch-and-forge quest like Lucca's than just leveling her already buff self up to the peaks of power. Compared to the efforts you have to put in to get Frog's Masamune II or Robo's Terra Arm, this just seems like a bland grind.

Wow, big post.

I really, really, hated the level "Colony Ship For Sale, Cheap!" in Marathon.

You see, there's this room where there's a set of columns whose height you have to adjust so they're set up as a staircase (a staircase with lots of massive gaps between each step) so you can run up them to get into a doorway high up on the wall on the opposite side of the room.

The columns can be adjusted from control switches located in rooms which have windows into the main room, but its pretty easy to mess up the height adjusting part and you won't know til you've tried a run and fallen down and have to start over. And that kind of "the level is your enemy" thing just really annoys me, and Marathon was mostly free of it so this particular piece of Tetris-puzzling with the scenery stood out for me.

Video of said level. Room of annoying columns features around 2:15.

One of my favourite games, and the one I chose would have to be Morrowind.
Why?
1. The cliff racers. I think any Morrowind player knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about here.
Amen, brother.

Skies of Arcadia

I love this game, everything about it is just awesome, the gameplay, music, sounds, characters, story, just anything you can have in a game is there and you will love every second of this rpg.

But why did you have to have instant death magic spells? Why did you make monsters and bosses that often use just those spells? Why do they not work for me but it works for them and kills me 80% of the time! Please don't repeat that mistake again if you ever plan to make a sequel.

Pokémon B/W has the entire bottom screen being c-gear. I would rather another version of the pokétch or something like SS/HG had which allows menu access without pressing a button.
This, except I hated the bottom screen on HG/SS. The Platinum user interface was the best we've ever had I think.

Also, why...WHY? Why aren't the crisis core cutscenes skippable?

Final Fantasy VII: Materia system is too easy to abuse (counter-attack spame :D)

Final Fantasy VI: Having Sabin attack 8 times every turn with Setzer casting 4 spells a turn made Kefke a leedle beet easy

Dragon Age: Origins Blood magic made any solo sections laughable. If more than 4 spells happen at once it crashes to desktop.

Dragon Age 2: Repeated dungeons. All the pre-order DLC I got makes Act 1 a complete pushover. Force Mage felt OP.

EVE Online: Sec grinding, Maller and Rifter are hilariously OP for their cost.

Medieval 2 TW: 8 units of longbowmen vs 20 of Frances finest cavalry, deployed stakes always win.

Mass Effect 2:
-Crappy guns
-No loot(I like loot)
-Armor was lame(especially not being able to mix and match the DLC armors)
-Hammerhead missions
-Combat seemed kinda boring and tactics weren't needed.

Oh god yes. I lost count of how many times one of them came running from over 6 miles away because I accidentaly hit a companion. Leave me alone you vulture! It's not my fault fighting alongside companions doesn't work for **** in this game!
Than I have to fasttravel ( no way I'm walking all the way back, suspension of disbelief be damned! ) back and he is still there. Than he takes a look at the 6 trolls i was dealing with and thinks "looks legit" and walks away. It's even worse when said companion IS a guard, they just turn around in the middle of a fight and demand 80 gold with a dead serious look.
Lol, i never had a companion, so i spared myself a mountain of problems. And man, if that b*tch guard decides to take some coin from you, you just pickpocket that a-hole.

God of War III: Ruined Kratos' character completely and made him completely unlikable.

Super Mario Galaxy 2: Finding green stars.

God Hand: How much it rapes you at Normal difficulty.

Metroid Other M: Samus' constant monologue commentary on stuff we've already seen happen.

Super Mario Strikers Charged: How it ramps up the difficulty so suddenly.

Phoenix Wright series: Hardly want to replay anything because I already know everything.

Try playing them years later. I was playing Justice for all the other day and I was utterly sucking at it because I couldn't for the life of me remember how the cases were solved.

Plus the courtroom scenes are still as thrilling as ever, even when your replaying them.

Pokemon B/W.

They removed the option of having a Pokemon follow you around.
This and the lack of a VS seeker, i don't want to have to grind wilds, i much prefer trainers thank you, the blocks of grind are much smaller.

Think this is being cheeky but I thought the final battle in Portal could have been done better, Less timing issues (I hate time puzzles in games!) and more turrets or something. Other than that the game is perfection itself!!! I only played for the first time last week (I know, about fifty years after the rest of the world...) and LOVE it.

Am a girl so am I now manly?

Also: Fallout 3....I hate you Talon Company, why must you always appear when I am busy and have little health with only one stimpack...

MGS4. While not really the game's fault, more one of my own preference, the fact that you don't face any human enemies for almost all of the second half of the story gets quite annoying, since that is one reason I enjoy it so much. Only an issue when you've played the story more than a couple of times.

Another thing is the RIDICULOUS size of the update needed to play online. I got MGS4 quite a while after it came out, and even with a dl speed of 200kb/s, after 1-2 hours of downloading I was only on about 1%.

WoW's writing has been slipping, and their design is looking increasingly inconsistent. Also, draenei dudes need more hairstyles.

Rift has some annoying limitations on its UI customization, the animations are a bit clunky (Gamebryo for the loss), and the world is tiny. Also, you can't really make an attractive male character, and bahmi gals need more hairstyles.

The minigames in FFX were a royal pain in the ass. Especially butterfly-catching.

Shooters should automatically come with a "toy-gun" control. (Although, now that I think of it, that would mean that shooter fans would eventually end up with altogether too many such controls.)
