That is just a marketing trick, pay no attention to it.

Watch the South Park Episode "Cartmanland" to have it explained to you.
They tell you "You can't get it", so that you want it more and will pay full price when it releases.
Yes it's a marketing ploy.
In the same way prodding an angry bear with a stick is a great way to sell it honey.

Make sure to wash your mouth out after so much microsoft arse licking.

my interest was raised when this was first announced, but if they take much longer on releasing this...I'm really not gonna care anymore its rapidly approaching a year since release. Skyrim as much as I loved it, really shot itself in the foot for me by allowing my one character on one playthrough to do every guild questline. Got no reason to replay save for DLC, and even that is kinda pointless to me unless it adds real new locations or something truly new.

If they had a DLC with a return to the now apocolyptic morrowind I would be pissed off about this delay.

Welll... shit.
I guess I should start hating Bethesda now, but I'm having too much fun with other games to care.

I just hope they release it for PC someday.

'Oh man, it's problaby a good plan screwing over 2 plattforms that you promised that you we're gonna release DLC content to, let's make it a exclusive without telling anybody. I'm sure nobody will be mad about it.'

Did they even think this through? I mean, just skipping the PC and PS3 and tell it a month after the initial release? Did they really think we would accept it without question it? Sure, if they're working on Dishonored or something, fine. But tell us first instead of not saying a goddamn thing to your loyal fans that's been waiting for this freakin' DLC on the PS3 and the PC.

I just lost a lot of respect for Bethesda, there's absolutely no reason they shouldn't be able to at least get the DLC out on PC.

Wonder how much extra Microsoft had to pay for this.

That's cool.
Mods done by some Joe with a video game hobby in his free time >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anything Bethesda will ever make other than providing a base game to fuck around with.
You realize that the ONLY mod that provides horseback spellcasting is horribly bugged and incomplete when it comes to anything other than conjuration spells, and that there's absolutely NO magicka cost when doing so, right?

Not only that, but NOBODY has thus far stepped up to make brand new from-scratch weapon types like the upcoming crossbow weapon type, either because there simply is no modder who is able to do it pro like Bethsoft does, or because they suffer from the disease where modders think sharing their mods is beneath their thick skulls.

I'm just saying that mods aren't the be-all-end-all, because modders have so few resources that saying that they take too long to come up with some truly crazy shit would be putting it a bit too nicely.

That being said, WHO WANTS TO BET DAWNGUARD WILL NEVER COME AFTER ALL?!

I thought Bethesda prioritised PC gamers, and while I own a 360, I refuse to buy DLC twice. I really don't see any problems with just releasing it. I have a feeling it's Microsoft that are the problem.

I'm sure there isn't anything to worry about. Dawnguard has bugs. We should be relieved they are taking the extra time to make sure their product works before they release it... unlike pretty much anything Bethesda has ever released in the past.
Yeah, but they said they had no plans or timeline for release, that generally means they are not working of fixing the bugs.

In all honesty I'd actually forgotten about Dawnguard because of the exclusivity period, and after seeing this thread I must say I'm a little disappointed but other than that I no longer care.

Oh well I suppose I still have mods.

I'm really quite angered at this news. I hate the concept of this exclusivity, followed by a "Wanna guess if we'll ever release it?" jab at everyone else. This isn't so much a news blip from Bethesda, it's called taunting your players.

Not to be rude, but the Escapist isn't a gang of 14 year olds championing either of the consoles or PC. All should be treated respectfully.

Also who cares, if you don't want to give it to us Bethesda, PLENTY of backlog after the steam sale we can play. And I'm sure Ps3 owners can find some other shiny games to occupy the void.
Honestly Skyrim was at the back of my mind by now, if you don't want to keep it fresh in our mind and keep it relevant to us that's your loss, not ours.

well I was gonna wait for the GOTY edition with all the DLC anyway, which let's face it is probably gonna happen, so no huge loss, I'm not worried, Bethesda aren't stupid enough to cut out two out of three platforms from their market

Well, I was holding off on vampire/werewolf overhaul mods because I wanted to try this first. But fuck it, I guess I'll just use those. I was willing to buy this Bethesda, now I doubt I ever will unless it goes on sale. Provided we even get the chance to buy it.

EDIT: Found this. If you play on the PC, we got our OWN vampire overhaul! With blackjack, and hookers! Well, not blackjack or hookers, but still!

We don't need no Dawnguard! [http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17077] Oh, and we don't just got vampires, oh no, but werewolves as well!

BOOM! [http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12687]

Suck on that, Bethesda. Hope the money from Microsoft was worth it.
God bless that mod

That Vampire mod + Black Tower mod = a happy Gibboss.

One thing for sure, I'm not going to buy it, and anybody who buys it for the PS3 or PC is an idiot.

Don't support a company that does not care about you.

I fail to see how giving exclusivity to the xbox version helps them in long. I mean wouldn't they make more money if they put it on every console/Pc?

Huh. I was going to buy the DLC, but your attitude towards PC/PS3 players has dampened my mood. I could understand kicking PS3 (the platform I use) but PC? What are you on Bethesda?

If they ever do bring it to PS3, I might buy it but never for full price.

Meh. I'll just go install one of the countless vampire mods available. Or make my own.

But don't be an entitled twit.
Every time someone misuses the word 'entitled' on the internet, a cute, fuzzy animal dies a painful death somewhere in the world.

True story.
This is a proper way to use entitled.

Entitle: to bestow rightful ownership

These people are attempting to have bestowed rightful ownership to themselves. As this is obviously erroneous, that makes them twits.
