And of course it's 9 months till the release...
I can see the conversation now.

"Honey, you and I must make a baby today! They shall be known across the land as 'Dovahkiin,' the one born of dragons! And their birth shall be on a day of utmost importance!"
"Okay"

Skip to 11/12/11, the date of the child's birth.

"Son... I am disappoint."

(And then there's therapy time when the child finds out he wasn't a "mistake" but a "miscalculation")

Lonely male seeking equally lonely female to engage in sex to conceive a child to win a contest that may or may not provide a copy of a video game.

I'm serious.

So parent's want their kids to suffer years of bullying cause their name is "Dragonborn". After that what are they going to do with the baby? Put it on phucking ebay? Aaaagh, sometimes I want to cough blood on the gaming community!

/sigh

we already have enough morons naming their kids stupid crap do we really need companies encouraging this?

It's getting pretty bad, even ignoring the stupid spelling (Cindi with an I anyone?) some people are determined to inflict on the rest of us, I seriously had one young lady get shitty because I spelt her name "wrong" as in I used the correct spelling, even though she didn't tell me it had a different spelling, and I had another block get shitty because I spelt his name with the masculine rather then the feminine spelling (Ashley, male, Ashleigh, female) because his parents got it wrong...

And then there is the fact that names that are traditional in western culture are being replaced with foreign ones because of parents trying to be "unique", I mean what's wrong with Andrew, John, Luke, Mathews, Robert, James, Steven, etc.? do you really have to name your kid Yangtze even though your whiter then I am (not making this up...)?

And then there are the stupid people who assume that "boring" names don't mean anything, I mean FFS, they had to come from somewhere.

UGG I HATE STUPID PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY STUPID PEOPLE WHO BREED.

We need licences for reproduction, seriously.

I can see a funny scenario in which which i'm trying to discuss the proper spelling of Dragonborn's given name when i'm in my 60s, he's a WoW nerd and i'm treating him for a seizure do to a mix of bad diet and sleep deprivation.
...or is it more depressing since i'll probably remember this thread? Eh. At least Bethesda tries to do interesting shit.

That sounds cruel to me. By the way how is the name pronounced?
The reward better be alot of money so the kid can go to a private school or something.
"Doh-VAH-kin". Simple enough :p

Aaaand yeah, a market ploy name is a horrible idea and whoever wins this contest is horrible.
Broing.

Dovahkiin is what they're asking, not Dragonborn, and I think it's an awesome name.

There was a girl in my highschool called Charizard (apparently pronounced Sher-ee-zard) and Dovahkiin doesn't sound or look that bad.

I'd question the thought process of parents that would actually do that. I mean you're not only selling yourself out, but also your child.

I would love such a name.
Then again, I would still love it even without a "unknown price".

But then I would also let my girlfriend decide of course....If...I had one...*cries*

No but really, Still a great name.
