I would kill my parents if I got named that... Though I would love to see the popularity of that name rise. That would be pretty neat also.

Damn it, why couldn't they have announced this last week, then I would have totally gone for it.

Sounds more like some kind of drug to me.
"How's that erectile dysfunction going, Tom?"
"Oh, it's way better, now that I'm on Dovahkiin."

I hope the prize can pay homage to said parents' stupidity.

Actually, they did hint at it. There was a tweet about it being the last week for a try at an 11/11/11 birth or something of that sort.

Might be able to get away with the name Dovahkiin in Russia or Eastern Europe. And from what I've heard, those Russians do some crazy stuff for the internet.

I already plan to name my child "Chewbacca Gatsby Oliver Rockerfellar Baldry" I may be able to throw that in...But not in time...Since I don't have a child on the way...and don't plan to.

It might sound weird to most of us, but there might be a country where that sounds like a valid name. I just hope taht there is a place like that and someone from there sees it and does this :p

It's not a bad name either. Is there time to go make a baby? I gotta knock up some girl fast...

Actually, Dovahkiin is a pretty fucking awesome name in my opinion, so I'd be happy with it.
Same here, i'd love to have that name.

And if the kid doesn't like it he can always tell people his name is Dave since at a long stretch the first bit of the name sounds like that.

I really, really hope no one goes through with this and I'm kind of sad Besthesda would even suggest it. It's one thing to ask people to do something stupid to themselves (the "tattoo it on your forehead" style of contest), and I'm fine with that. It's another thing entirely to ask someone to do something stupid to a powerless child.

If I were the kid, I'd feel pretty insignificant knowing that my parents named me to win a fucking contest.

Assuming any fans hardcore enough to name their children "Dragonborn" are presented with the opportunity to conceive was probably their first mistake. ^_^

Considering some of the names that crop up in The Elder Scrolls lore, "Dovahkiin" isn't too bad...

In the spirit of ruining the lives of unborn children, I will double, no quadruple Bethesda's prize and offer 4 "unknown" rewards for any Oblivion fan who conceives a child and names them "Tom Titty".

I take your challenge sir........Wife.....WIFE!!!............WE MUST CONCIEVE A CHILD NOW!!!!

I'd actually LIKE that name, so the prize is just a bonus!
(though thanks to my imagination and twisting-of-words I've turned my regular full name into POSEIDON! (Well, God of the Sea. But then I get to shout out "I! AM! POSEIDON!")

Well isn't that just great. Condemning kids to years of bullying for the sake of publicity. I hate to be a killjoy, but really...?
I personally would avoid fights with anyone named "Dragonborn" at all costs.

A disclaimer reads: "Any reward for completing this quest will not ultimately justify the potential teasing your child could - and probably will - endure over its lifespan. Bethesda Softworks is not responsible for your parenting."
Good call, Bethesda. I tip my hat to you guys on this one.

Then again, joke or not, SOMEONE is going to do this one. Just watch.
