Easy loophole solution.
Give the child the name as a middle name (it should still count) and have a Caesarean section on the 11th

the only problem is that you might have to get a person pregnant just to win this contest.
Gstaff says no middle names.
Further loophole solution; name the child dragonborn and give it a normal middle name like george. Then just call it george. You'd be surprised at how many people actually do this.
It's not a loophole if they don't AGREE with it. Call up Bethesda and ask if that counts. While you're there, ask if 'Changing my first, middle, and last name to different versions of that word' make up for not being a child and not being born in 2011.
(I should learn to reread things.)

For some reason that I can't undestand, my girlfriend tells me that 'We need to have a baby right now to win a contest' isn't acceptable.

The real icing on the cake here is that by the time that the child is old enough to enjoy this game, it's going to be old, outdated and forgotten :p

I reckon an Icelandic family will win this, I suspect that "Dovahkiin" is practically already a name up there!

No offence to Iceland, I just can't make heads nor tails of their language.
So very true. I can't imagine a name like Dovahkiin raising many eyebrows a place called Reykjavik.

Sure I'm not even a fan of Elder Scrolls, but I'll certainly store the name Dovahkiin away for future use, I mean Kin is a cool shorthand!

I certainly hope that the reward is worth the endless teasing and probable psychological damage of your child...
I think that was summed up by Bethesda themselves.
"Any reward for completing this quest will not ultimately justify the potential teasing your child could - and probably will - endure over its lifespan. Bethesda Softworks is not responsible for your parenting."

"Jane, we're having the baby today."
"But Tom, it's only the 11/11/11!"
"So?"
"That means I've only been pregnant 5 months!"
** Awkward pause **
"And we're naming him Dragonborn."
"TOM!!"

Not a bad name. I had someone name their daughter after a name of my D&D character "Aerowyn".
Ok time to find a sperm donor

Well, uh, it could be shortened to Dov, which means "bear" in Hebrew...but that might be a little weird if the family isn't Jewish...

One of those things that is awesome in concept, and somewhat less so in execution. That poor (future) kid.

That made me laugh, quite a bit.

Lonely male seeking equally lonely female to engage in sex to conceive a child to win a contest that may or may not provide a copy of a video game.

I'm serious.
I'll take you up on that offer, except I'm a male......but.....but we could just use magic to fix that couldn't we?
*Puts hand on shoulder*

Anything is possible when we are desperate enough to get a free copy of Skyrim. If that is the prize. Come! We shall search the Universe to discover a way for two men to conceive a child on 11/11/11 and win a free copy of Skyrim (Assuming that is the prize).

I like all the rage posts from folks who didn't read it :p. Skim a headline, keyboard warrior, drink coffee.

Seems like the ultimate forum lifestyle ;).

That's a pretty awesome name, especially when that kid gets asked the question: "What does your name?" He/she replies "Dragonborn."

I was named after a programming language. I brag about it to my friends. I know plenty of people with names more embarrassing and less subtly cool than "Dovahkiin", and they turned out alright.

Hell, what kind of weirdo would need a prize to do this? I'd do this and teach my kid to go around killing people's pet lizards with an axe.

Who needs 'responsible' parenting anyway?

The first thing I picked up on from this was that the game features its own new 'language'. I'm wondering if this is just going to be a character-coded variation on English (or whatever the localized language happens to be for the particular release you pick up), or an actual legitimate language ala Klingon?
