So, Bioware and Valve are both twats. Inciting flamewars for the sake of it is bloody stupid, and makes people less willing to buy their game on the affected console. But at least Bioware will be correct, this has all the patches and DLC. Still, very stupid comment.
Or perhaps they're just trying to encourage PS3 owners to buy their game since they've had such a long delay on it, and have foolishly assumed then gamers aren't a bunch of morons who feel the need to ***** and moan about why their console of choice is better?
What delay? Last time I checked there was no delay. The game is being released at the set date.

Also, Woodsey is right. Bioware is basically calling the 360 and PC consumer a "fool" for buying the game early. Gamers who were devoted to the series are being crapped on. "So you bought the game and then proceeded to pay for every single tid bit of DLC we crapped out of our asses? GOOD! But guess what, we've got this new and improved version with all the DLC AND better graphics. It's going to be on the PS3 only by the way. Have a good one!".

It's insulting.
Delay over the release of the other iterations; and what you said and what I have said are not at all the same.

I would declare it fair considering the price of the game has fallen, and that combined with the DLCs would bring you up to about the right price anyway.
What other iterations? Also, the price is right? Also, Bioware is creating a game with a new engine and all the DLC included for a lower price than the market one, right? So, let me get this straight. 360 and PC users have had to pay full price + if they wanted to get the full experience they had to pay for DLC as well whilst PS3 users NOT ONLY get an upgraded version of the game but also all the DLC included? Not fair at all.

It is the better version anyway: it comes with all the DLC, patches, and the updated version of the engine.

And what have Valve done?
I doubt any PS3 owners who want this game need to be told to buy it. It's been out that long, they know what to expect from it or have gotten it for PC more then likely. Also, I'd expect a game which has been out this long to come automaticly with all the DLC and patches, so that shouldn't be a bonus, that's a requirement from Bioware. This is just pandering to the extreme by playing people against each other. It's cheap on Biowares part to use this kind of strategy to help sell a game.

Valve did something similar with Portal 2, saying to the PS3 crowd in E3 their version would be better. Whilst I suspect it'll be a level creator or something which microsoft prevent on the 360, it was an irrating claim. It's an excuse for Valve to use if Portal 2 does bad on the 360 and it makes them sound like they aren't making it 100% to 360 owners.

Because some people feel a little cheated by paying for DLC then hearing lots of people are getting it for free.

Like me, i'm a little annoyed. I don't care as much to start a flame war, but come on, what the hell is up with that?
Do you feel cheated by the people who can buy the 360 version for $20 and get the DLC that comes to being less than $60? If not, you should. It's the same thing.
Yeah sure, that's now. If that happened now i'd understand. But that's not the case. When I brought it, when it was £45. £40 pre-owned and we still had to pay for the DLC if we got the pre-owned copy. So yeah I can feel slightly cheated, knowing they're getting a better deal than I did.

I'm sorry to say this but people who are pissed off about the DLC being included in the PS3 version of the game only have yourselves to blame. That's what you get for accepting the idea of PAYING for DLC. I never liked that industry trend from the get-go and I will continue to never pay for DLC in the future. These days, games that release a ton of DLC usually end up with "Game of the Year" or "Ultimate" editions in the future anyway.

So essentially this is our Mass Effect 2 "Game of the Year" or "Ultimate" edition. I am not surprised.
Since when do consumers have psychic powers that tell them what to wait for?

Would be nice if they gave the 360 version the comic so you can define the major events of the first game too. Mass Effect 1 is fun and everything but spending 40 hours making a good save on that to play through 20 hours of Mass Effect 2 is just annoying. :p

The most significant choices, sure.

But I liked how the game referenced the little ones on occasion. Like with Helena Blake and others.

You'll get the gist of the story, and the choices, at least.
i think that solves the problem...

See our first game is obsolete and useless :D

Really? That's you stance? Why bother playing a great game when you could just take a multiple choice test instead! I wish they would just release the same game on pc,360,and ps3.

I don't see what the big deal is. Bioware is making up to the PS3 owners in this way.

By the way why are we using that picture?

It's pretty sad when even the developers of games act like childish morons like the fanboys. A sad day indeed, considering it's Bioware. I'm very disappointed.

TBH who gives one? I got ME for pc basically when it first came out and (despite the stupid nocical machine not importing my saves ) I've loved every second of it. I mean lets be frank, if i didn't have a pc I'd by rubbing me nads with glee at the chance to get ME on ps3 and I'm glad they're bringing it out for everything. Personally I think that actually the article is jumping the gun somewhat in it's anticipation of console war flame war dribble (i'm not enough of an online guy to know what flame wars are :p) Most people who used to be involved in console wars have since grown up and moved out of their parents house (or gone into gaming media Ha Ha Ha) What was I saying? Oh yes, fanboys. Well if there is anyone who is seriously bothered with ME going to playstation then close your eyes, plug your eyes and continue sleeping with your... oh I don't know, the construction of some vaguely witty comment is just beyond me at this stage because I'm so tired for the life I'm leading outside my house.

Peace out homies!

PC version is still superior. =p

And it's still a shame for PS3 users to only get to choose the signifigant stuff. What about minor issues that come up later? How you handled your annoying fan (who's name escapes me somehow), how you dealt with Ms Al-Jalani (FALCON PUNCH!), or if you let Shiala live.

I don't see why Xbox owners (including me) are going to find this unfair.

PS3 owners waited longer for the game, so it makes sense that Bioware add something extra to make the port much more worthwhile.

I think it's quite nice of them actually.

"One of the first things you've going to see is improved graphics. We actually created the engine for Mass Effect 3 and used that to make Mass Effect 2 PS3.
Whoa Whoa, wait what? Mass Effect 3 is gonna have different engine and improved graphics at all! Then why the hell was Mass Effect 2 even MADE!? I'm a big ME fan and the ONLY THING ME2 did for the franchise was fix some of the bugs, update graphics and introduce some characters. It had no meaningful contribution to the overall story, so they could've just skipped to ME3 and i would've already have played it by now!

Hey, I'm just happy to see the ME love being spread around.

The comic thing sounds like a pretty good idea considering the original will (most likely) never be released for you guys (I say 'you' 'cause I'm a PC gamer myself) but it's still no real substitute... Ah well.

It's nice to see they're giving it a bit of a tune-up first considering how long you guys have had to wait although I'll admit I'm more than a little jealous you're getting a reworked version.

Still, as I said before, the more Mass Effect the merrier!

And this was reason two why I was annoyed when Bioware announced ME for the PS3. It's not fair to put fixes and better stuff on another console, when your legions of fans who actually enabled you to justify this sequel in the first place get stuck with the lesser copy. Directly telling us this as well is like kicking us in the nuts after giving us news that we've been robbed.

If you were going to make Mass Effect 2 better, you shouldn't have said so. Or you should have released real fixes to the 360 DLC that would make the changes to the game. I'm not talking about better graphics, I'm talking bug fixes etc which they claim will be in the game.

Frankly I could care less about graphics, and I've been lucky enough not to experience too many bugs, but if they announce changes or additions to the story I'm going to be really pissed, because that's what I came to Mass Effect and Bioware for, so if they start annoucning console exclusive stories then it really does go too far.

Of course I couldn't do anything to them or their sales, but it would at the least lose them one customer, which is still a tiny dent in their armour, no matter how pitiful.
