Well 1 extra year to work on a game. If they didn't improve it or got rid of the bugs(not noticeable when i played the 360 version) i would have been really disappointed at Bioware."[We] wanted to make sure that we added a lot of benefit to the people who waited," said Houston. "One of the first things you've going to see is improved graphics. We actually created the engine for Mass Effect 3 and used that to make Mass Effect 2 PS3. So we took the content, the story and all the other assets that made up Mass Effect 2 and put it into the Mass Effect 3 engine. And that's what we're actually delivering."
The PS3 version will also include bug fixes, all of the DLC released for ME2 thus far, and - given the nature of the PS3's Blu-Ray discs - will not require the player to swap discs. Sounds pretty good, right?
Mass Effect was never an exclusive. The term "exclusive" implies that it only exists on a single platform, which neither of the Mass Effect games did. They were released for both Xbox 360 and PC.John Funk said:For those diehard fanboys who refuse to admit that another system could ever be good, though, Mass Effect 2 is a flashpoint - one of the most prominent Xbox 360 exclusives, now making its way to the PS3.
Whoops, sorry! I meant MG:Rising.internetzealot1 said:When did they release MGS4 on the Xbox? I thought it was just the upcoming MGS: Rising.marcogodinho said:Since XBOX got MGS4,
Speaking in terms of the console wars, it is an exclusive.Tom Phoenix said:Mass Effect was never an exclusive. Halo: Reach was an exclusive title. Wii Fit was an exclusive title. Mass Effect 2 was not an exclusive title.
This. Just this. I don't care that the PS3 is getting Mass Effect 2. In fact i'm kinda glad, since more people will get to play the game. What pisses me off is that they aren't getting the same version of the game. Maybe i'm weird here, but if a game is released on different consoles, they should be the same on both consoles. It pisses me off that Bioware seems to be going out of their way to fuck with the xbox owners who bought the game at launch. It's not rally the same thing as a GOTY edition, the entire engine is being updated. Although i'm kind of that crazy guy who thinks that all games should be on all consoles.HyenaThePirate said:You know, being someone who owns both systems, I usually could care less about what system a game is on.
But what Bioware has done here is essentially slap the face of the fans that MADE the game a success on ONE console. This could have been like Advent Rising, but the game was much loved and supported. And what do they do? They not only go and make an IMPROVED version, but then tease that the IMPROVED version is somehow a reward for people NOT running out to buy the soon to be "lesser" version.
Not only that, but they also get $100 worth of DLC for FREE?! That's just a flat out insult.
What this means for the industry and Bioware specifically is that I personally won't be buying ANY exclusive titles upon release anymore. And certainly not any BIOWARE title.
I'll just wait for a year (I'm patient) and then reap the benefits of being the video game world equivalent of a Johnny-come-lately who shows up to the party late, but then gets to gorge himself on all the food and drink he wants that everyone else was being respectable enough not to eat too much of in case someone else showed up.
For those of you who are like "well at least we have the Mass Effect 1 saves.." sure those were a nice touch in ME2 but compared to the TRADE off here? All of the DLC for FREE? Improved graphics and action? Not even close, give me the extra content, you can keep the game saves... especially since from my understanding nothing is going to be carried over to ME3, especially if your Shepard dies.
*whoosh* is the sound of the point of that guy's post going over your headProgrammed_For_Damage said:Pity the game itself can't hold a candle to either of the Mass Effects; or Call of Duty or any other blockbuster titles that actually have style AND substance.Freechoice said:Somewhere, from atop the high-end tower that can run Crysis on max settings, the PC gaming master race is laughing at the console peasants fighting amongst themselves.
Herr Yahtzee was correct.
I have to agree about the DLC.Fr said:anc[is]I didn't care until I read that they're getting all the DLC. That's bull. I don't want to deal with yet another account and yet another bullshit points system. And come on dude, pick another screenshot. Her ass is the most shameless and embarrassing part of ME2

They didn't mention the PC version because they didn't want to embarrass all the silly little console players.Radynj said:They neglected to mention the PC version in all of this. You know, the best version?
