anc[is]Aren't the Titans basically gods in Warcraft? So saying this isn't WoW2 is probably total BS
It is a codename. Also, Titan could mean a lot of things. Are you saying this new MMO could also be about an American football team?

OT: I don't like how it could coexist with WoW they should make it totally its own game, but Blizz is smart (and rich) so this could get interesting.
You realize what it means to co-exist right? Like exist together, that's kind of hard to do if you're competing with each other. In fact, unless you're equally matched, one will eventually force the other "bankrupt" (i really don't know what to call it if a company were to compete with it's self and "win").

If you're thinking co-exist as in the same game "universe" i think that is not what blizz is going for. There was so much nothing in this update that i doubt that by co-exist they were talking about the story at all.

Oh shit i forgot an important part! I think it's likely that this game will play significantly different from WoW. Because if it does, then both games can appeal to different audiences without fighting over a lot of the same people. I expect little overlap between the audiences of both games, Titan will possibly be more of an action game?
Yea I read it as co-exist within the story. Woops my bad.
that's cool, i do that often enough myself

Some tiny ideological part in me wanted to read that as "We're making an MMO that's completely opposite to WoW, and will cater to a different audience entirely."

I want a modern Ultima Online, goddamn it.

Will the new Blizzard MMO by based around HALO IP? More grist for the mill.
That's not legally possible. Bungie doesn't even own the Halo IP, and even if they did there's nothing pointing to them being in bed with each other to this extent.
You sir have been trolled.

World of Starcraft? Blizzard was getting mad at a game called "World of Starcraft", which is a starcraft 2 custom game. Maybe because they want the name free?

You know, I think we might just be witnessing the end of gaming here... :p. There will be Blizzard, and that's it. I honestly can barely cram any other game (in my otherwise very very lax schedule) other than World of Warcraft (and I mostly only play during raidhours 3 times a week) and Starcraft 2 (been playing since the very first day and have around 1000 games played). I just managed to finish Mass Effect 2. I'm still waiting on Dragon Age: Origins (I didn't even pick up the next one, not to mention DA2) and GTA4. And soon there will be Diablo 3, and judging by their track record, Blizzard is probably going to pull off another super-duper-best-seller. And then there's Titan. Blizz already has a monopoly on my gaming time, and I imagine there are many many others just like me. What will happen to all the other games and game devs once Blizzard has 4-5 active games out (active as in not upgrades from an older game - like SC1, Diablo1-2)? Will anyone be able to compete? I mean look what happened in this Holiday season (probably the hottest release period): Nothing came out except Cataclysm, because everyone knew it would kill the sales of any, ANY, other game out there. What will happen to the MMO market, where Blizzard'd WoW probably has more players than all the other MMOs together (counting "real"games here, stuff like EVE Online, Conan, the upcoming StarWars mmo, not stuff like Farmville, Darkthrone, etc)if they are going for a game that will not draw from the WoW fanbase, but create a new one altogether? (obviously lots of people will play both, but if they say they aren't going to overlap, I kinda believe them)

While Blizzard's dominance over my gaming time is not a bad thing at the moment (hey, I play their stuff more than anything else because it's better than pretty much everything else), there are still a few other games out there not made by Blizz that have enthralled me, delighted me and entertained me.

I might just be paranoid and rambling, but I don't want to lose other potentially excellent games just because Blizzard crushed all competition.

It's a legit error. If he's trolling he's doing a poor job at it. And no, for fuck's sake, it isn't Starcraft, it's a new IP.

World of Starcraft? Heh be my guest won't ya?

I just want to see Dark Millenium wipe their sorry grin off their face. I don't mind really, as long as it can co-exist with other MMOs.

If it can't? Please let others try >.>

Bets on Titan being WoW in Space are now on.
^$$^

I lost most of my hope in blizz when it went to activision, they were fine and rich on their own, but they wanted to be richerer. And thats never good for the common man.
You really don't understand much about business do you?

And then, Diablo 3 makes its way onto the field, people start subscribing to it, Blizzard forget all about Titan, then says that they won't do Titan.

Like Starcraft: Ghost.

I'll be surprised if it's not Universe Of Starcraft.

That said, this is Blizzard making it, so if it comes out before 2020 it'll be a minor miracle.

Hmm.

Yup, this tells us nothing new.

An MMO focusing on socialising and guilds? Utter madness!

So, they're planning to tackle making an MMO using a different set of high-level design decisions, creating an experience that the structure of WoW doesn't allow. Makes sense, since it's been shown that there's currently not much point in trying to tackle the 'WoW-style MMORPG' market, especially for the people who already own WoW.

It sounds like they've noted that WoW's basic leveling-up-learning-spells-chasing-gear gameplay strategy isn't sustainable, and not every expansion can be Cataclysm. I'll be interested to see if they're coming up with something with more potential for horizontal, rather than vertical, extension. Chances are they've been keeping a close eye on TF2.

I'm disproving it right now. Acti-Blizzard does not have the rights to Halo nor is it even remotely imaginable that they could acquire said rights, and Bungie is working on their own project anyway since they don't have the Halo IP anymore.
You're not actually disproving it. Confidential IP licensing agreements have existed in the past that split a franchise; whilst we all find it highly unlikely that Activision-Blizzard have acquired rights specifically to an MMO it's in no way 'impossible'.

Interestingly enough CCP North America is working on a game that seems to have a lot to do with the more social side of gaming.

I predict gamers who play both WoW and Titan, will get in-game advantages in both. That way the new and the old can coexist.
People will lap it up and happily pay Blizzard 2*15 per month.
