In germany we have boobs in the newspaper, nobody cares.
However that is a rather crappy yellow press newspaper anyway :)
Or you see them at 12 oclock on tv.
Anyway why are breast so terrible that a kid can't handle them?
Because America was founded mostly by ultra-conservative religious nutjobs and that mentality has been passed on for a few hundred years.

Don't get me wrong- I'm as much a fan of titties as the next man. Normally I'd say that the media is just making a huge deal over something insignificant, but the packaging said, "Family Friendly" and I'm sorry, but full frontal naked titties are not "family friendly" in any context. It's false advertising, and it is a big deal. Not a huge deal, just big enough that it's actually somewhat newsworthy. On the other hand, the mom should have just gone to the Dollar Tree store's manager first instead of the news, and the kid probably should've just kept the cartoon boobies a secret from his parents.

Agreed. A fool and a pathetic waste of time. His mother is just as bad. You don't complain to the press for that stuff, you just tell the kid "Ok, so?" and get on with your life. He's 10, not 6!
It was in the "family friendly" section.

You germans censor violence and ban games though. We austrians get the best of both worlds, boobs and violence.

It is time for a big scientific research here.
Let the guys at MIT test on 100 kids the measurable damage of watching drawn boobs.
My uneducated guess - nil.

Especially given the skeleton with a scythe right on the cover.
Oh come off it. Every kid ever has seem that sort of imagery on halloween.
There should have been an "Adults Only!" sticker on it or some other form of age warning but instead there was a big "Family Friendly!" message.

After the mother took away the comics and called the news, he went back to playing gears of war, COD, and GTA.

BOOBIES BOO
VIOLENCE YAY
Apparently the gore and violence suggested by the desecrated body and grim reaper on the cover pales in comparison to the mere presence of uncovered female breasts.

I dont understand why showing uncovered breasts is more disturbing to people than seeing all kinds of intense gore.

@katsabas: As far as I'm aware the mother bought it for him, and second of all: OH NOES THE GRIM REAPER! Please, they have stuff like that ghost trains. Which are for children. Heck Skeletor has a skull for a face, so does the Skull Master from Mighty Max, it's a comic book for christ sake, if you'd assume it was for kids, there's nothing to be amazed at the fact that it had the Grim Reaper on the cover.

Now OT: People will kick up a fuss about anything. And I'm betting that kid was payed to say "I saw a naked woman and got mad, then saw violence and handed it to a grown up", no kid acts naturally like that except if he has extreme conditioning of somekind. Now here it's no ones fault but he packaging company. But the kid is still wetter than a thunderstorm sandwich, and mum is a bit over the top.
Not all kids are the same. And if this one has indeed extreme conditioning, his mom shouldn't have bought it in the first place. I got scared watching the Frighteners for the first time so that is where my train of thought was going. I wouldn't buy a comic like that for my 10 year old son (if I had a kid) but whatever.

I'm thinking this comic will become worth something in the near future. I recommend a purchase. People love to buy slip ups (cards, comics, money).

well you would have to assume that the entire family is a bunch of bible bashing squares (hopefully noone takes offence to this if so im sorry about that). I mean the kid went to his mom so obviously she brainwashed him into feeling guilty about natural things that boys ten and up should be thinking about, and then she went to the press so obviously the family is disfunctional and shes obsessive. these are the kinds of people you see banning their 14 year olds from playing mass effect because it has "nudity" when it doesnt, and they probably watch fox news as well, because they have their heads so far up their asses they cant see what is normal on this earth. \rant

The good news out of this is that this kid probably ISN'T one of the thousands online screaming swears and insults at people.
Well at least he's not THAT. Huzzah!
Now he just needs to grow a pair, and stop being a stupid little mommy's boy.

Holy shit, I just wrote 'mom' on the internet. I'm being americanised.

the cover of the comic should have given something away as to the violent content, then again Violence is fine hell we have a 18 rating on games for no reason which probably has the same amount of gore and guts, but bewbies.... No that's just wrong!

LOL

why run to the press about it though that's what is so stupid... well maybe not maybe the mom knew and wanted her 5 mins of fame on tv >.<
