You should be able to turn that off. In your profile under Subscription and Benefits. Although at the minute the space where it was just turns grey instead of removing it for some reason.Fasckira said:I'd be quite happy if you dropped the motto thing at the very top... pretty pointless, I never read it and it just takes up screen space.
You can change the background of the site and the content background colour in Browsing Options on your profile.Lumber Barber said:Will you do something about the blinding white everywhere?
Ahh, thats really helpful, cheers! Leaves a big blue space on mine at the moment but its an improvement!Lizardon said:You should be able to turn that off. i don't frequent gamespot but the design also looks a hell of a lot like gamebreaker.tvJack and Calumon said:Very nice! I don't have a single complaint about the way it works.
BUT IT KINDA REMINDS ME OF GAMESPOT!
Kinda... I don't like Gamespot anymore. They took my Jonneh...
The main feedback I have is for this section. Please make the drop-down menus so that you click on them to see their contents. As they are they get in the way of most of the page when I move my mouse downwards to click on something. The Escapist Staff said:1. At the top of the page, you'll find our redesigned navigational bar, containing separate menus for features, news, videos, and reviews. This bar will stay at the top of the page no matter where you are on the site, ready to help you find the content you're looking for, faster. From here you can also access your profile information, including the comments you've posted, the badges you've earned, and the friends you've made at The Escapist.
As far as I can see there are two Critical Miss episodes currently listed in the features area of the nav bar/header. Is it not appearing there for you?AzraelSteel said:I like the new web design - the previous "4 recent things" at the top let a lot of content pass me by at first. One question though - should say, the new Critical Miss be showing in the recent scroll? Because it isn't currently, and it probably should be. Otherwise, aside from delving into the news feed or manually checking it, it isn't anywhere on the front page.
It isn't. The forums should look pretty much the sameevilneko said:I hope that giant header thing isn't present on the forums.

The old site layout didn't allow content to stay up longer then a day before it needed to get pushed off in order to make room for new content. The newer layouts allow more predominate placement of content for a extended amount of time.RanD00M said:Horrible, just horrible.
You didn't have to change it the first time around, it looked damn good before. The new one looks like absolute shite.
It just does. It feel cluttered and unneeded. The header makes it look like a bad knock-off off of the old Gamesradar layout. Instead of having the forums in the navigation bar, it has been thrown somewhere in the fucking corner next to the store. The whole arrangement of things being switched up seems pointless. And last but certainly not least, it just doesn't feel inviting.ThyNameIsMud said:Mind expanding on your opinion, 'the new one looks like absolute shite'?
What it was apparently is that the features tab of the navbar wasn't loading at all. It did after I flipped the navbar around 3 or 4 times, but none of the secondary tabs were loading originally. Maybe make the navbar changes load quicker? I wasn't aware it did that til you asked me the question and I checked around a bit.Nasrin said:As far as I can see there are two Critical Miss episodes currently listed in the features area of the nav bar/header. You know there's been porn on the internet for like, 30 years now, right?MiracleOfSound said:Once again, the Escapist is quite possibly the sexiest looking site on the web right now.
