Child Must Have Thought a Gun Was a Wii Remote, Mother Says

Since I don't live in a country where people can own guns there's probably a law that says I have to comment on how unsafe guns are...
I'm not going to. I would, however like to say that any parent that leaves a loaded weapon where a child can reach it should be shot in the face.
I do have a question though: Would the average 3 year old even have the strength to pull the trigger far enough to actually shoot something?

The saddest part is the girl died.A baby died because of neglect from her parents and now this? It really makes my heart hurt when children died something that was caused of their parent's neglect...

First things first, I'd like to say FOX News. Secondly, I think the mother is pretty damn stupid to not have noticed her child playing with a GUN. And then blame it on a Wiimote incident.

Hey, maybe for a three-year-old, it's difficult to tell the difference between heavy, greasy metal and, a lightweight, plastic, peripheral. Do they even make black wii-motes and zappers and, if so, are they even available in the U.S. ? The mother was in the room too you say? Definitely have to agree with you there, the more posts about scoring one for Darwin the more ashamed I am of some of the Escapist community. Hell even if they weren't serious comments they are of incredibly bad taste. She was three. She lived with Step-parents who are stupid enough to leave a loaded gun within clear reach.
