Isn't that more Craigslist territory?
Oh it certainly is........

I am surprised this guys sentence is so light. I mean shouldn't they add time for being a dumbass?

I can only hope that something happens that stops this person from breeding ever.

Some times the parents or society are to blame. This time it could be both and the fact that this guy was hit with the stupid branch.
hahahaha I sniggered (and I was about to mention the breeding, or not to, part lol)

The way the american legal system works starts with "Can you afford a lawyer?" If the answer is no, then the state provides one for you. However, these lawyers (public defenders) are NOT interested in your defense first. They are interested in completing the trial in the most expedient means possible. As a result, if you are ever seated with a public defender, they will give you a run down of your options should the case go to trial. They will tell you that is a case goes to trial, you will face X to XX number of years in prison if convicted. However, admitting guilt will almost always assure significantly less prison time.

It sounds like Corey Adams in the article sat down with a Public Defender, and in light of the evidence the police had on him, was advised to just plead guilty so he wouldn't spend more than a set number of years in prison.

Remember, state appointed lawyers are not the same as the ones that you pay for out of pocket. One attempts to set up a case in your protection. The other tries to get the case over with, and that may or may not coincide with keeping you out of the clink.

I seriously had to sit and think about what I wanted to post, cause every time I tried to type, my mind just went GAH! and I couldnt think of anyhting.

So lets bypass the obvious I raped a girl so I want her dead logic and what was he thinking.
A) why would you go to facebook to hire a hitman? Why not just go to Craigslist or something? I mean, if you're hiring someone on Facebook as your contract killer, they're probably not very good.

B) What defense does he raelly have outside of insanity? And I somehow think thats not gettin him out of this. They should have just tried him. Cause you know when (if) he gets out, he'll either try to kill her himself, or do the same thing, again. But this time it will be about vengeance.

There's a definite difference between Paul Chambers [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter_Joke_Trial] and some tool that asks someone to kill the girl he's just raped. And then asks again while the police are near.
Is that really true that Stephen Fry offered to pay for his legal charges?

Can't wait to hear Faux Noise's take on this...Bet anything it'll all be about how the poor guy is a victim because the girl turned him in. After all, it's always the woman's fault when she's raped, right?

If he was just blowing off steam, he wouldn't have met with the person he thought was a hit man. Also, having sex with a drunk person is considered rape in most cases, because being drunk buggers your ability to think clearly and say no.

Not only did he commit a horrible act, he had to attempt to commit another horrible act...in the dumbest way possible. What a catch.

Obviously I wouldn't know [http://cripesonfriday.tumblr.com/post/606531386/paul-chambers-related-links-in-one-post]. Or who Spartacus really was. Or that not only did Fry offer, but so did a LOT of others.

Just asking is all. If its true, then he really needs to learn to stop making/doing such dumb actions.

hmmm while not defending this scum bag, he's earned what he's got, however I've mad jokes about wanting people knocked off before, once or twice, where is the line drawn between a real threat and a joke?

I mean honestly I've told my best friend "you sing that song again and I'll murder you in your sleep", we both knew it was a joke, but do the cops?
I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and assume that your best friend wasn't bringing you up on rape charges.

Funny, I thought that trying to stop Governments from wrongfully imprisoning their subjects was wrong. Obviously so did he.
