I'm very likely the minority when I saw that this trailer didn't not invoke any emotions such as sadness, when, on the contrary, I feel like they tried a bit too hard. But hey, opinions and whatnot.

I will admit, the trailer's unique take on a zombie apocalypse has me interested, but the "heart wrenching" emotion seemed as fake as the CG was astounding. To me anyway.

Someone should take the video and edit it so it all plays forward. And one for the backward too.

My takeaway from this trailer is this: This isn't going to be your standard "here's a weapon, over there are a swarm of zombies, now get to hackin' " zombie game, like we've seen so much of, lately. (All props to L4D/L4D2, but I get kind of bored of nonsensical shoot'em up after a while. The best scenarios in those games were the ones that had a bit more depth.)

So I guess you can color me 'cautiously optimistic', in that this game might have a more substantial plot than, say, Dead Rising.

Looks pretty Epic. Looks can be deceiving. Let's hope the game is as good as the trailer makes it out to be.

I agree, Zombies are starting to get a bit saturated. The trailer looks pretty sweet, but once you said it was a first person shooter, I lost just about all interest. Then mentioned it being survival horror, my interest in it was completely lost. I'm a bit too chicken shit for survival horror games, and I hate FPS. Still...cool trailer.

I am pretty hype for this game.

Also, Zombies are the greatest enemy ever. They will never get old.

A zombie game? With some ACTUAL SOPHISTICATION???

Colour me gobsmacked!

I really REALLY enjoyed this trailer, the music was beautiful and it so perfectly juxtaposed the horror. This is an ordinary man trying to protect his wife and child. It is so much more impacting than Left 4 Dead or Dead Rising, which both have about as much subtlety as a giant pink flamingo in a bra (bad analogy).

A beautiful piece of filmaking, big clap to the director.

EDIT:

After watching it a few times, it actually brought a tear to my eye. THIS is the sign of a great piece of art, I haven't cried in years.

nice work... hopefully they are smart enough to not screw up this zombie story (like Night of the dead 3D, that movie was terribad)

i have been waiting for a zombie survival RPG (kind of like i am legend) for a long time, but then i heard of this game and got really glad, but then i saw this trailer and saw that it seems like it tries to make it self look serious and dramatic, and that just piss me of, you cant make a serious zombie game, thats fucking ridiculous.

Damn, that was pretty impressive. I don't think the gore was quite as bad as some people are claiming. I saw worse on Walking Dead not even a few months ago -- didn't hear a peep from anyone then.

(Hint: which one's a videogame?)

Controversy aside, that's a damn well-made piece of film, trailer or not. Running the footage of the father pulling her into the room backwards, so it looks like he's giving her up -- and so that at the end there, when he's going towards her, it looks like he's being pulled away; she's being lost forever; etc...

...goddamn brilliant.

You know a Marketing department has earned their pay when a game pretty much definitely won't be as good as the trailer.

Now, need to find me where that music is from.

I'm sorry, but no. No no no. Child death is never funny. Feel free to play the game if you want, but I, for one, will pass.
It isn't supposed to be funny, its supposed to be emotionally wrenching.

Absolutely brilliant. The epitome of a great trailer - conveys atmosphere without delivering too much in the way of spoilers.

I'm not really interested in zombie games, so I'm unlikely to play it, but I love the trailer.

... I must be the only person on the planet who didn't bat an eyelash at the thing? Come on now, after wading through the zombie-saturated media of the last decade and the unhealthy amount of infanticide in Dead Space and Dante's Inferno, I seem to have grown immune to the shock value of child enemies.
