Dead Island: The Best Zombie Game Trailer Ever

Well thats one way to loose my appetite. I can't even finish my delicious ovaltine now. That was one heck of a trailer, I can't say I'm looking forward to the game, but the trailer was damn good.

This trailer has caused so much buzz it's silly, I've seen loads of people hyped about the game but as far as I can see, the trailer tells us next to nothing. It could be a zombie racing game for all I know. Not that fussed about it, yet.

You say zombie racing like that could be a bad thing. A great trailer can be a sign of great project directing and vision without letting fuckwits add fuckwit ideas to the mix. *cough*Condemned 2*cough*

Oh don't get me wrong, zombie racing could be great! It's just that this trailer delivered so little information that I just can't get interested in this game. It may well turn out to be great, I hope so but I'm not holding my breath.

your trapped on an island with zombies. there are very few guns in the game and even less bullets. combat will be mostly melee. The concept sounds brilliant to me. if they can make the zombies feel dangerous and the player scared of hiving to get close enough to them to kill them then the terror could be brought to another level.

Trailer is simply awesome. The forward/backwards editing really works for me, but I guess game won't be that impressive. It's just a matter of crossing the fingers reaaaaaally hard

OT: Cheapish trailer attempting to pull certain strings but still really well put together and does its job quite well as I'm actually quite interested in seeing some gameplay.

Yeah, I saw this earlier today, and it totally knocked me on my ass.

We'll see more about the game once gameplay surfaces, but for now, color me carefully optimistic.

Well personally I liked it when they got attacked because them being happy is some uncanny valley shit right there. Also I dunno about best zombie game trailer ever... I still prefer L4D2.

I'd say it's equally good, but on the opposite end of the spectrum.

But as a trailer, the Dead Island one strikes me as a calculated bore that ticks every single cliché box over the past few years on how to make trailers and adds the kid into the mix to scrounge up the edge factor into it.

Talk about cynicism... yeesh.

Even the aintitcoolnews.com crowd are digging the hell out of this trailer, and they dont usually post articles on videogames. The teaser is great. Lets see if the game is any good.

It looks like dead rising 2 (gameplay wise that is)
I certainly love melee combat more than ranged, the teaser was well devised plus I also love scrounging for supplies.
A buy from me if it gets a good PC port because my Xbawks just got roasted.

This is the best (non game-play) trailer I have ever seen. What really sells it are the facial expressions - notice the peaceful expression of the girl falling upwards contrasted with the ferocity in the bedroom; the mother's shocked expression reversing itself to that split second moment of joy-turning-to-horror when her daughter first gets up from the bed; the dad's everything-is-going-to-be-okay smile as he reaches for the girl.

I cried. A lot.

It never said it was trying to be funny. But it also gives this game a thing that a lot of games don't/won't have because they don't want to cross the line. This trailer is supposed to show what is happening if they didn't have the child it probably wouldn't be as sad as it is.
