The inability to play single player in Diablo 3 looks to be the worst thing I've seen done to an otherwise at least mediocre game. Never before has a company tried so hard to convince me not to give them money.

LucasArts cancelled Battlefront 3. They're still winning.

Blizzard tries though.

Eh. I would like an updated Battlefront, but I still enjoy Battlefront 2 enough :D

Yip... this is exactly what happens when you give up your privacy and buy a game that the manufacturer has constant supervision over.

Cant wait till more of these show up in an avalanche to push me off this slippery slope.

Blizzard's still adding more hoops to jump through, I see. It's funny that 90% of the news regarding D3 as they trickle in are additional reasons for me to steer clear of that game and the remaining 10% are stuff I don't personally care about, like that story with the first Inferno HC success.

People will continue to bash Blizzard over forums, blogs, their own forums, any number of things. If you look at these threads on all the forums and blogs you'd think the game was a total failure and now no ones playing it and it is further dying.

For all the whining, people still gave Blizzard their money, and they voted with their wallets. You know what those votes said?

I'LL SIT HERE AND TAKE IT LIKE A MAN.

Over 7 million copies sold.

Yeah, you sure showed them.
Bitching is the only way to keep other companies from jumping onto the retarded bus.
No. No it isn't. Voting with your wallets is the only way to keep companies from jumping onto the retarded bus
Its blizzard, people are retarded when it comes to blizzard, blizzard could shit on a napkin and at least 1.5 million people would buy it, hopefully this will finally be enough of a media shitstorm for people to stop buying blizzard but I doubt it.
People are retarded when it comes to a lot of companies. The exact same thing could be said about Valve for instance. They could shit into tin foil and as long as they called it Half-life 2: episode 3, it'd still probably be called the greatest thing ever. Hell, look at Bethesda. They keep releasing buggy messy shit. Playstation 3 owners couldn't even play Skyrim until after a month or two. And that still got game of the year from a lot of people.

It's called fanboyism. It affects a lot of people. Bitching won't stop them and it won't stop other companies cause they're not paying attention to these forums. And I'm sure criticism on their forums is mostly ignored except for the slim few criticisms that are helpful.

Yes what a terrible horrible game. That millions love. That my friend made $250 off of, which will likely pay for the WoW subscription he has.

So right after the shitstorm that was the launch week, Blizzard is really pulling shit like this?
Didn't you know? Launch week was totally just this in effect. It went exactly according to plan!

Well this might stem the hordes of people who buy the game and somehow don't realise that 'they hate it and want a refund' until after they've completed it several times if nothing else.

You brought back traumatizing childhood memories of learning what that song was about, and nearly brought tears to my eyes. And sadly summed up the state of Diablo 3 in an oddly poignant way. Kudos.

Oh boy, this just keeps getting deeper and deeper into 'sad' territory. As far as the last few days go, the 1.0.3 patch was sad enough. Stop already, Blizzard, I don't even have the energy to rage on your ass anymore.

Oh, really? How about the things they actually have done make them look worse. There are plenty of things they could do that would reflect well on them. But of course, that's not how an apologist's train of thought goes - everyone is out to get poor ol' Blizzard, it's not their fault.

there are things they "could" do but they ain't doing them now are they?
and as long as they don't this is a train wreck of a game that keeps on going farther down the broken tracks.

It's all just one big circle jerk at this point, with everybody who never even intended to play the game in the first place sitting around, patting each other on the back over how smrt they are.
You know, I was looking forward to Diablo 3. I still occasionally pull out the previous two because I really enjoy them. No LAN and no offline singleplayer? That was the dealbreaker. And every single thing I've heard about the game since has validated my decision to give the game a pass. Now Blizzard is putting up such poor entry point design as to actively discourage people from buying their game. So yeah, at this point I would say self congratulations are in order. We would all be better off if more people were willing to look at a franchise they love and be willing to let it burn if it's being mismanaged.

I may be nothing but a meal ticket to game publishers, but I'm a picky meal ticket.
