I'm expecting a Shivering Isles-style expansion pack. Maybe in Elsweyr?
There's a mod for that. [http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36303]

OT: Good to hear. Just... please don't make 'em 360 exclusive. Please.

so long as this more "substantial" dlc is eventually buyable in physical disc format Ill be happy. (and I dont mean disc content that has to be downloaded to the hdd anyway it must be playable FROM the disc)

I hope they do something like Shivering Isles for Skyrim, t'was my favorite part of Oblivon.
Personally, I hope they return to Shivering Isles and see what the new Mad God
Oblivion's Protagonist
has done with the place. It could be a twisted alternate look at Cyrodiil, I think that would be cool to see it with the new engine. Also it would be nice to see if
the hero
did slowly turn to madness.

Must... pre-order Skyrim now. DLC that will be worth buying.
To me it seems like more reason to wait for goty.
I was originally planning on waiting just because I figure it will take them that long to get it working anyway.
This. There's always a Game of the Year version of these games.

May as well await it. I didn't enjoy being shafted for buying Fallout 3 soon after release then discovering I would either have to pay for or go without DLC that came for free with the limited (read: actually extremely easy to obtain) edition Game of the Year version.

Then again, I'm not sure companies that pull the fast one on consumers to pull extra funds out of their wallets deserve the quick profits that allow Game of the Year Editions to come out in the first place. So I'll just wait this one out, or not buy it at all. I don't care how good it is, sometimes a sacrifice should be made for the good of the industry or it'll just continue to spiral into commercialism and downright Hollywood-like behaviour.

I think they should just say "fuck it" and proceed to create all of Tamriel as a big open world for one big expansion. The ultimate elder scrolls experience! This will be the game that renders all other games pointless!!!
Lol go play the 1st Elder Scrolls game :p

OT: If there is no horse armer there better be MLP skin models or no sale I demand my mounts look amazing.

Oh and I want somthing like Shivering Isles in Skyrim that DLC was just to fucking great.

"No horse armor DLC"...

"expect something more substantial..."

yeah...
not like they're setting the bar that high considering the majority of Oblivion's DLC.

I'm a little confused at this, how do you expect that to work? You need to have the main games disk put in in order to play the main game right? So how are you supposed to play the DLC without the main disk being in? And even if you could (by having it take place in some completely segregated area so no details from the main game disk are needed), what if there's some cool weapon you get during the quest? The details for which exist on the DLC disk? that weapon would go away the moment you took out the DLC disk and went back to the main game.

I THINK he means that he wants to install the DLC from a disk instead of downloading the 'downloadable content', not sure though.

I meant that once they are done releasing the dlc they make a goty version with it all along with the main game included on the same disc. Ill have to buy it twice but I still prefer that to dlc.

Im just sick of my hard drive getting filled up T_T

Yea, they don't need horse armor, they'll have plenty of other ways to nickle and dime you to death with DLC

...or they could just have horse armor in the game on release.
Anyways, yay for Bethesda for treating DLC right.
"No plans yet" and "Fewer, but bigger DLC" are what I want to hear. (No plans yet as in they are not holding stuff back to make us pay for it later)

Screw DLC. Give us expansion packs like the old days. Bloodmoon and Tribunal were incredible add-ons to a brilliant game. Shivering Isles was almost their equal. Just make a substantial 10-15 hour expansion 1-2 yearly, charge £10-15 for it, throw in all the new items, spells and outfits and Skyrim will be the best RPG of the decade (and we're only one year into it).

....but you do know....some MILLION YEARS AGO...there were things like....expansion packs?
oh right, that was a dream. Every "addon" in gaming history was always called "DLC", has always been a 8 byte snippet from the internet, and was already preinstalled with the game if you think properly about it.
Yeah that sounds about right.

If the DLC is like Morrowinds, then Hell you could release one and I'd be happy.
THERE IS NO DLC FOR MORROWIND *runs away crying* (maybe the fanmods can count, but wtf)
*ahem* although I agree with the basic idea. XD

EDIT: [in retrospective I'm not quite sure if I just got caught by trolls]

Well I hope it isn't more "substantial" than the shivering isles. I mean it was great but if it's any bigger it's gonna cost a fuckton of money.

Awesome news. Not just for the horse armor that I don't give two shits about, but I really like the fact they wanna go with bigger DLCs than Fallout. Fallout had some pretty decent DLCs (in fact, it's one of the only games where I consider DLC somewhat worthwhile), but I'm always leaning more towards expansions than DLCs. If they could put out stuff like Knights of the Nine in form of DLC - and that's the vibe I'm getting from this in sense of scale - I'd be very much supportive of it.

I'm also really, REALLY happy to hear they're not thinking about the DLCs yet at all. Thank fuck for that. I consider it completely retarded for a company to be working on the DLC before the main game is even finished, especially when they finish the DLC and then sell it separately at game launch.

Bottom line, Bethesda is awesome ^^
