I thought the new one was "Fishville" or something. One of my friends left a party once, (yes a fucking party) to go home and feed his fish.
No disrespect to you or your friend, but why the fuck didn't you punch him in the face and make him stay?
Well he was quite drunk already, so he wouldn't have felt it much anyways, and he's about twice my size, so if he did I would be screwed (I wasn't the most sober either). I'm thinking of sneaking onto his computer when he's playing MW2 or something and figuring out how to kill all of his fish. He'd probably just find some other tard fiesta to play though.

Why the hell would anyone intentionally go about raising virtual crops for fun - what's next, Cubicle Drone-ville, where you shepherd your virtual office worker through the grind of the ole 9-5?

As much as I'd like to rag on Dr Phil, I really have to agree with him here. Even in the field of casual gaming it's bloody terrible, and anyone who goes about lying to their family so they can feed their 'farmville addiction' sounds like they might perhaps both the lamest and most boring person on the face of the earth. For shame!
You made me lol, nice job Khorne Worshiper, *brings out chainsword DIE TRAITOR!!!!!!

OT: All facebook games suck. So good for you Dr.Phil just don't insult good games. Thats when you mess with us.

Kudos to Dr. Phil, though I didn't need an article to tell me his show is generally not worth watching.

He may have gotten this right but I'd bet he'd group a person who played TF2 online a lot right into the same group without even thinking about it.

What, we're taking this guy seriously now?

Anyway, she's stupid for being addicted to that game, he's stupid because of what he does, and I'm stupid for talking about it.

There, done.
In the vein of another post in this thread. + Respect to you.

Exactly what I was going to say (although I might have put it into kinder words). FarmVille is just a really lame idea. In fact, I can't go onto FaceBook anymore without seeing a hundred pictures of FarmVille on my news feed. And that lady had it pretty bad. I would never unplug the internet to pretend like it's gone out just to get someone off of the computer so I could get on.

I bow down to your logic, good sir.

You've heard of The Sims, I guess? One of the most popular and lucrative franchises of current years?

Can't tell shit from it for 22 hours a day though.

My brother happens to have a friend who gets paid to watch after people's farmville accounts. Actually I can't stand being on Facebook for more then 10mins unless i'm talking to someone

Dr. Phil did say one thing I agree with:

You have a ridiculous addiction to a ridiculous computer game that's interfering with your ability to be a mother. Close your accounts. Get out of FarmVille. Reintroduce yourself to your family. Cook a meal. Go on a date. Go to a movie. Go jog. Go sit out in the backyard and watch the grass grow. Do something. Actually, maybe start a garden for real.

Sounds to me like Dr. Phil has been playing too much of The Sims 3...

Well, if SIMS became popular, whom are we to judge. Even so, here's a good rule of thumb: only play games with ACTUAL ENDINGS!!!

Right, but The Sims was essentially an dollhouse that you could dynamically re-adjust and that would react to your actions - sure, the game is just "help incompetent NPCs go about their dull lives to escape your own dull life", but at least you are essentially playing god and can thus choose to smite your wayward children by removing all their toilets should the urge strike you.

In Farmville you pretend you're a farmer, only nobody is paying you and you don't get any exercise or fresh air.

The Sims is barely a game, more of a complicated toy really, but Farmville is just simulated work.

Also we can judge all we want - we're an elitist sub-culture that looks down upon the benighted casual gamers, judging is pretty much what's expected of us.

I played Farmville for a while, but then one day I sat back in my chair and wondered what the fuck I was doing. I stopped then, but it took ages for people to stop sending me Farmville gifts.

Anybody want to remind me why we're giving "+Respect" to someone who isn't even a real doctor? Oh because he badmouthed Farmville, of course, that's totally worth suddenly turning around on what a sham this guy is.
