The former more than the latter. What would have been a brilliant, innovative, and hilarious game when it was originally scheduled to be released will now (ironically) be seen as just derivative of more recent games that have a misogynistic anti-hero as the protagonist... even though Duke Nukem was in large part the progenitor of those games.Tr3mbl3Tr3mbl3 said:My prediction: this game is either going to be awful and remembered for generations to come as the biggest blunder the industry ever managed to crap out, or its going to be the best game in the last five years and praised for being more than worth the wait.
Well it IS going to be a pretty big deal. The biggest myth in gaming is about to become reality.Squilookle said:"Today I am proud, humbled and even astounded to announce that the day is coming at last for all gamers to be a part of video game history..."
Hate to say it Pitchford, but not everyone is as enthusiastic about your pet baby as you are.
Hey, everyone's gonna be alive during May 3rd, aren't they?Squilookle said:Hey I won't deny that it'll be a big deal, but to say that ALL gamers will be involved?
Bit of a pipe dream really, isn't it?

Irony is not when something coincides with something well, it's when something gives a REVERSAL OF EXPECTATION. And henceforth Forever not taking forever is the ironic thing, not that it took as long as the name told us.
With this and bullet storm coming out, I sorta hope so. I'm just getting sick of serious FPS games. Where are the just plain ridiculous good'ole shooters at.Azaraxzealot said:maybe this will kill the "gritty realistic shooters" trend? one can only hope
Well... no, actually. Between now and May 3rd many many many people who are alive today will have died. Besides- merely being alive does not make you part of something.Triforceformer said:Hey, everyone's gonna be alive during May 3rd, aren't they?Squilookle said:Hey I won't deny that it'll be a big deal, but to say that ALL gamers will be involved?

You get the point. Every gamer who's alive on May 3rd and 6th will be part of a historic day, game wise. They will have been alive where the legend of Duke Nukem Forever becomes honest to God reality.Squilookle said:Well... no, actually. I hate you for reminding me. I am now sad.blue spartan 11 said:I hear way too many people complaining that we don't have any games to replace the "DNF will never come out" meme. Last time I checked, we are still waiting for Half-Life 2: Episode 3. We ALREADY have a replacement.
Oh god, don't remind me of that game >.<8bitmaster said:there's still starcraft ghost *sob*Darks63 said:Damn now what will we point out when we need to referance a famous bit of vapourware?
