And this is why, aside from deceptive marketing (the actual story had fuck all to do with the Black Daliah you LIARS!!) and a derivative plot (Zero Punctuation's review wasn't kidding O_O) LA Noire sold poorly. Though in my opinion the biggest flaw was this:sunami88 said:Seconded. thirded, i'd play it if it were on steamsunami88 said:Seconded. I really want to play this game, but I'm between consoles at the moment...Auxiliary said:They should have brought LA Noire to the PC as well. Point and click adventures are right up our alley.
I agree with this. Duke's not horrible overall. It's just not good, and definitely not great.Duke Nukem Forever isn't a bad game. It's a 6/10, just above average. It's blah gameplay with referential humor thrown in. Seriously, go look at it (on PC anyway)! It's not the 3/10 some reviewers are giving it
Although, in the original game you could kill innocent women, infected or not. Not in DNF.Alucard788 said:Perhaps they'll realize that not everyone gets tight pants over exploding pregnant women, sexual sounds with crying (the hive), an carved up naked women.
Duke was not funny...it wasn't gallows humor...it was a sick, sad, disgrace to games, and even made the original games look tame by comparison.
Well, witch-hunts do make people feel awfully good about themselves.AlexDude said:duke is just crude fun, wish it wasnt so bashed
Really, dude? I'm getting pretty tired of all this "PC Gamer = Evul Piratez" bullshit. The vast majority of PC gamers buy all their games. Can we please stop conflating the actions of a few with the buying habits all the rest?Azaraxzealot said:then they would have had piracy making sales even worse. great.
i didn't accuse PC gamers of being pirates, i was accusing pirates of being pirates.lithium.jelly said:Really, dude? I'm getting pretty tired of all this "PC Gamer = Evul Piratez" bullshit. OT: I also believe they should have released LA Noire on PC. That's really the natural home of a point-n-click adventure, it's a bit out of it's element on the console. Take Two would probably have seen higher sales on PC than console for something like this.
Reviews come out much sooner than sales report, so it basically only indecator for investors, like it or not.Worgen said:I dont like the idea of stocks being dropped based on game reviews, I mean that sort of thing just encourages people to only make cod type games since those things sell stupid well or some other kind of gritty war game
But you made the automatic assumption that releasing a game on PC means it'll automatically be pirated heavily enough to affect sales. As a PC gamer, I find that assumption downright offensive.Azaraxzealot said:i didn't accuse PC gamers of being pirates, i was accusing pirates of being pirates.
you shouldn't take it personally. it's common knowledge that most pirates do their dirty deeds on the PC rather than a console. that doesn't mean that every PC gamer is a pirate or should be treated as one.lithium.jelly said:But you made the automatic assumption that releasing a game on PC means it'll automatically be pirated heavily enough to affect sales. Jim Sterling's schtick is not giving a fuck. That's what he does. And his score of 2/10, which you seem to think is a reflection of his Great Integrity, kind of makes my point: it's a disastrous score. Which is exactly what I said in the first place.RedEyesBlackGamer said:No, it won't. Especially when the discussion is on how broken the system is. It is is your system if you allow that type of thinking to affect how you review a game. Jim Sterling gave DNF a 2/10. You think he gives a fuck about how Triple A titles are perceived? He played a game and then put a numerical value to what he thought about it. Games should not be treated differently based on how big the people behind the game are. That makes it sound like reviewers are scared to go against them.
