I'm surprised that I haven't seen any mention of the crossbow from HL2. It used red-hot rebar for ammunition, and could pin unfortunates to walls like some sort of macabre butterfly collection.

Land Shark gun. Literally shoots sharks that swim through the land and kills enemies.

I've just bought it. Yet to play, but I like the sound of the Land Shark Gun. Apparently the Topsy Turvy also turns the entire world upside down, which should be fun.

Epic weapons of my own (disregarding ones already mentioned):
- Serious Sam's X7-Lasergun. Sounds like a Star Wars laser, has four barrels and rips everything a new one very, very quickly.
- Quake 4's Dark Matter Cannon.
- Painkiller's chaingun/rocket launcher. (To clarify, yes, that's one weapon.)
- Unreal Tournament's rocket launcher. Map: Morpheus; players: 16; mods: Rocket Arena; frag limit: as high as you want; fun: unbelievably.
- Prey's autocannon. It has a grenade-launching facehugger thing on the top.
- The sniper rifle from Serious Sam: Second Encounter has possibly the best firing sound I've ever heard - AND does more damage than a rocket when it's zoomed in.
- The Uzis from Serious Sam 2. Oh yes.

The quack-o-ray in Ratchet and Clank 3. Turns enemies into exploding ducks that lay exploding eggs.
The Barrett in Call of Duty 4, a multi-purpose shotgun/sniper that in reality would make your head explode.
The monkeylord in the rts Supreme Commander. It fires a laser that melts everything it sees. Three will rape a base in no time.

I love the Hailstorm from Resistance: Fall of Man. The 'Portable Air Strike' from the first mercenaries was gorgeously destructive.
