Since it seems most haven't seen this movie I won't go into detail on why the end of the movie was absolutely awesome.
That ending was every conceivable sort of awesome you could have in a movie. I've never heard an audience react that way to an ending. Epic.

Bob didn't give much in the way of spoilers that I didn't already know. This movie is going to be one of my top 10 of all time. That's my prediction.

I...I... didn't like it. I saw it at the midnight release last night, and after coming out i was deeply torn. O how I wanted to like this movie, the acting was great, the sets were great, and the action was all good too, in the end though something was missing. I really think the weak point was the plot, the ambitions of the main mover-shaker (not Leonardo) were never really made known or explained, and while Leonardo's character was well explained the other characters were never developed, at all. It was also way too similar, and in a lot of respects inferior (IMO), to a certain other Leonardo DiCaprio film. I'm not sure why everyone's thoughts got all provoked, the movie was really straightforward and explained itself thoroughly, and I personally consider more 'dreamy' dreams in in of themselves to be more thought provoking.

Thanks for the Spoiler warning, MovieBob.
I also stopped there. Being maybe the only person in the universe who prefers the two last Matrix films over the first one, as they expand the Matrix philosophy more than the (awesome) gunfest of the first one, a complicated, celebral film might be just what I need.

I stopped at the spoiler warning.

I'll definitely go see it this week.

Best NON PIXAR movie? Cerebral?

Sold.
I stopped too, because one of the trailer clips was a city folding in on itself which made me interested. And then this revew made me realise how much I needed to see it.

Okay, stopped at the spoiler warning. Really want to see this now.
Yeah. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HARD THAT WAS
I think I might have an idea... it was killing me, but I managed to stop watching at 2:27. I would have loved to finish the review, but something tells me that if I had tried to do so, my future self would have come back in time and punched me in the face to prevent it from happening. I will be surprised by this movie, dammit!

I honestly had never heard of this film before today until I had to close a banner-advert that sent a spinning top across my screen. There have literally been no adverts (that I have seen) for this.

Sounds like a good film. Might go see it.

Today is my birthday, so a bunch of friends decided it was a good idea to bring me to the midnight screening of Inception last night (this morning? ah whatever) Let me tell you something first, I'm the type of film snob that will tell you that everything you know and love about cinema is wrong and that your movies suck. I'm pessimistic as fuck about nearly every god damn movie that comes out ESPECIALLY big budget blockbusters... BUT HOLY FLIPPIN PANCAKES, INCEPTION MADE ME BLOW HOT MAN SPUNK ALL OVER THE PLACE SEVERAL DOZEN TIMES, THE ENDING WILL GRIP YOUR BALLS PULL THEM OVER YOUR HEAD AND INSERT THEMSELVES INTO YOUR RECTUM.

Hell I got the Matrix the first time I saw it. And really HOW do you miss the political commentary in District 9, when they set it in South Africa? We've all seen Lethal Weapon 2. Dreams within a dream isn't that hard to follow, since every TV series and their spin-offs has done the screw with reality episode.
I was worried that this film was going to be a little top heavy in that it was going to be all allegory and commentary on the human condition. Looks like I was right but the angle about stealing thoughts from people in their dreams is actually interesting. This is the first time I've actually been grateful for 'spoilers'. Thanks again Movie Bob! :)
When you've never even heard of what it's supposed to be talking about. (raises hand)
I was eventually told what it was supposed to be talking about, by movie bob himself actually, but I still didn't get it when I first saw it.

On Inception though, I was the exact opposite, I thought it would just be some mindless drivel for that "average moviegoing audience". That may've been because I only watched one trailer and didn't know the director though, so this is definitely a good surprise for me. Also fixed on grateful.

I stopped...no, seriously, I'm even trying to avoid trailers.

About the "too smart" thing, I think you can almost compare this kind of movies to books (not pulp crap like Twilight, but actual sf or for that fact any interesting fiction). In a way that they actually have substance and don't rely on shiny stuff and sex and slapstick comedy.

How can it be bad if you have to watch a movie twice or three times to catch stuff. You'd have it far worse (by this I mean time consumption) if it was a book. Plus, this movie has sepcial effects and, as Bob mentioned, stars, looks etc.
Yeah, sometimes you wish for some simple-blow-shit-up action (like Ironman, Planet terror etc.) but personally, most of the time, these interesting, but still fun, movies are right up my alley.

Will look the review after I've watched the movie...although the movie already sold my seat.

P.S. damn it, do I hate PG13 and other ratings, that stuff ruined a lot of good projects

I have to ask: how is it possible to have a dream within a dream, within a dream, etc?
Has there ever been reported of someone actually dreaming in a dream?
