The new anime has me excited but torn, since it'll be the Heaven's Feel route which while I admit, has some of the best fights, I don't like on account of the changes to Shirou's Character.
Shirou of the Unlimited Blade Works story is probably my favourite, especially since it brought everything that was wrong with him in Fate into a new perspective.
Fate/Zero remains my favorite anime so far, and not just in regards to Fate, I mean Anime in general and I'm trying to find a method of reading the original novel. If anyone's got a suggestion, would be grateful to hear them. The animation was superb and Kiritsugu's...Tactics just made me smile continuously. The Hotel Scene. That is all.
I've seen the first four movies of Kara no Kyoukai, and when I consider what I've seen alongside Fate/Zero, I've kind of realized that while they are brilliant animators, they have some problems with story telling. First of all, it takes five minutes for anything to happen. Second, though, they struggle a bit with translating novels to a visual medium. I noticed this very much with KnK, as a month or so after watching those four movies I went and read those four novels. In the movies, I despised Kokuto, but I didn't mind him in the novels. Oh, he wasn't anything special, he was basically a hollow shell harem-type protagonist with no defining features, but I didn't hate him.Nihilm said:When I finished the KnK movies, I literally wished everything live action or animated would suddenly be animated by ufotable, because i couldn't believe how beautiful they could make the damn thing.
Uh, favorite KnK movie? I'd have to say Paradox Spiral
Rocks can kill Servants. Except in some chapters, where Servants can only be injured by other Servants.Evilsanta said:Shiki can kill Servants. Discuss.
Huh. You're...welcome, I guess? Never expected a thread like this...jhoroz said:I've seen people make reviews of their games here so I decided might as well make an official thread.
Someone's probably answered already, but no, it's basically just Arc's route, with one minor design decision based on the Far Side routes.leet_x1337 said:Apparently Tsukihime got an anime version as well. 13 episodes, called "Lunar Legend Tsukihime". I don't know much else about it except that most of the promo material I've seen involved Arc and Hisui, so I'm guessing the changed plot focuses mostly on those two. I'm probably also more interested in it because I've actually read Tsukihime (only Arc's true ending so far but still) and I think it's just beautiful.
Hardly.Nihilm said:I know I might be in the minority here, but I don't think shirou was THAT bad.Lunncal said:*snip*
It's...interesting.Nihilm said:I just found out that Kagetsu Tohya exists, so is that any good? Guessing I'll take it on once i finally finish tsukihime
Shiki Tohno can't, because his eyes are only linked to Gaia and therefore can't see lines or dots on servants because they are part of Akasha as a whole orsomethinglikethatIdontreallyknowasknasuNihilm said:Shiki can theoretically kill/destroy servants, but I don't think any of them will let shiki trace their lines/points of death with a knife without completely destroying shiki before hand with their inhumane strength. Anyway that is how I see it.
I have seen this discussion so many times... -.-jhoroz said:Shiki Tohno can't, because his eyes are only linked to Gaia and therefore can't see lines or dots on servants because they are part of Akasha as a whole orsomethinglikethatIdontreallyknowasknasuNihilm said:Shiki can theoretically kill/destroy servants, but I don't think any of them will let shiki trace their lines/points of death with a knife without completely destroying shiki before hand with their inhumane strength. Oh come on! The entire 50+ hour game has a grand total of five or six ten minutes long H-scenes that are completely skippable since they don't have any real significance and were only put there as a convention of the genre and for fanservice. Dropping the game for something like that is just a silly excuse...Snowbell said:I really can't go anywhere near Fate/Stay, I was told to read the visual novel by me ex and got triggered super badly by the sex scenes. It's kind of a shame because it's kind of a cool series and I quite like Rider, though she's probably a whore like Saber u_u
This made me laugh-especially considering the little "dreams" Rider pays to ShirouSnowbell said:it's kind of a cool series and I quite like Rider, though she's probably a whore like Saber u_u
They are connected, but they don't all happen in the same world, it is heavily implied that they just happen in really close alternative universes. Which accounts for any inconsistencies between the worlds. There is even a character that can move between these universes, although he is a minor character and so far I think ive only seen him mentioned once.SweetShark said:Well, I recently started playing the game "Tsukihime".
I am very early to the game and I am already confused about the plot, but in a good way I mean.
So I guess all the games of Type-Moon are "connected" and exist in the same world.
For the most part I can agree with you, he was flawed on purpose, it was fairly obvious, but I think this is the case of where the flawed character especially in the fate route is just unlikable, it serves a purpose, but that doesn't make him likable.GabeZhul said:*snip*
I don't even like saber that much and I really don't see how she was a whore. Even though I wouldn't agree I could see how someone could make that rude point about Rin or Sakura, but I really have a hard time seeing it about Saber. Oh well, you do know there should be a no-H version of F/SN out there track it down if you get bothered by the slight amounts of H in it.Snowbell said:I really can't go anywhere near Fate/Stay, I was told to read the visual novel by me ex and got triggered super badly by the sex scenes. Nihilm said:UBW was my favourite of the 3 routes, HF being a really close second.jhoroz said:Nihilm said:Well the way i understood it was, that it was not him using something common differently. In fact he was special because he posessed the reality marble and he had a very unique affinity towards that one specific type of magic. You could say to a savant level of affinity. It was because other mages were not capable of using projection like he could why everyone in F/SN says that it is weird and that projection in of it self is a useless ability almost.LifeCharacter said:*snip*and he also had his future self to observe from, which is a luxury many magi don't get
But yeah, UBW Shirou is a little too OP for my tastes. HF, not so much, due to the little "surgery" that was performed on him.
but yeah Shirou beating Gilgamesh or even Archer in a fair fight makes no real sense, I mean I think it was implied archer let him beat him and I bought that, but I think they should have thought up a more clever plan vs gilgamesh instead of Shirou is just going to go heads up against a servant, one of the strongest I might add and kick ass.
While Shirou is my second favourite protagonist, gonna have to disagree on your first point. Remember when he said he thought it was good that a molester came after Rin's rival, so as to remind her of her femininity.GabeZhul said:snip
Also Shirou had Avalon during that fight, while Archer doesn't. My justification of the Gilgamesh fight was that it was cool as hell.

Avalon didn't have any effect on him in that fight since...
his connection with Saber had been severed due to Caster's rule breaker.
