You'd think they'd pick on the Leisure Suit Larry game (That sucks) seeing as how it has more sexual content.

I don't think I'd learn what a Gangbang is by just hearing the words.

I just hope Glenn Beck doesn't get absorbed into this, from what I can tell, he actually likes games (YES I actually met him, it was at a starbucks about 3 years ago, and when I talked to him about the GTA4 thing, he said, "I don't hate games, I just think GTA might be pushing it a bit")

I'm honestly dissapointed, with a game like Bulletstorm,I was expecting not only mentions of rape, but the eternally classic murder simulator to train of for school shootings and perhaps some other ridiculous accusations my mind isn't twisted enough to make up on the spot.

Not only are you making yourself look bad for out-of-your-ass lies, but also for failure to live up to my low,low expectations I have of you.Shame on you Fox.

Isn't this fantastic news? Now we just have to do a reverse-Bulletstorm with bunnies and all, so we can show it to rapists to make them "normal".

I've said it once and i'll say it again, it has NEVER been a problem with stores selling Mature games to kids, its the fact that the Parents just don't give two S***s about what their kids are buying.
Pretty much, but here at the Escapist you're pretty much preaching to the choir, and most everyone outside of it will believe whatever they hear on Fox.

Coming up on Fox News: why you should never have sex, think about sex, or even say the word SEX. Because it will cause violence, and SEXUAL CRIMES, and your children with commit VIOLENT SEXUAL CRIMES against other CHILDREN. SEX is at fault for crimes AGAINST CHILDREN committed by CHILDREN. And VIDEO GAMES. You shouldn't have CHILDREN because the world is too VIOLENT for CHILDREN.

I could be a reporter for Fox News. You just have to make stuff up and stick to a few keywords to get your point across.

Fox's hatred of video games makes me laugh every time.

I feel almost like a troll, laughing at what they take so seriously and calling it stupid.

Fox News is both informative and intelligent.

See, I can make shit up too.
Aye, basic college 101 teaches you that Correlation is not Causation.

Which proves my theory that everyone working at Fox News have yet to pass kindergarden. Why kindergarden? Because my expert said so, and I trust my dogs word more than I trust Fox News.
Your dogs speak to you??

Have you seen a psychologist recently?
He doesn't speak. What he does is run up to his food bowl, knocks it over, and rolls around and knocks all the pieces of kibble about. Those kibbles get knocked about and arranged in a way that forms words.
Okay, how about an exorcist?

I'm so proud of bulletstorm now I may purchase it twice, and send one copy to fox with a troll face and a note that says " problem newsfags?".
You'll only give them ammunition.

So, Bill O'Rielly wasn't mentioned anywhere in the article at all, so I'm not sure where you are coming up with that, plus I am quoting this directly from the article.

?Between a great ratings system, parental controls on the consoles and the major retailers inhibiting the
sale of Mature-rated games to minors, the matter is really one for parents and adults to consider, individually,? Hal Halpin, the president of the similar Entertainment Consumers Association, told FoxNews.com. ?I respect the creative rights of game developers to make a game like Bulletstorm in the same way that I appreciate Quentin Tarantino's right to make over-the-top movies like Kill Bill."

It's refering to this, which is Bill O'Reilly proving God exists.

After reading that line about rape going up being related to video games, I looked up the rape statistics. Rape has gone down in the US by 80% percent from 1980 to today, which is a statistic that would mirror the rise of video games in US culture.
Then I looked up dr. Carol Leiberman, and realized she's a cartoon character. She's not a practicing psychologist. She runs a talk show and goes on other talk shows, to rail against the whatever the latest horror is. She once tried to sue Octomom to get her kids taken away as a publicity stunt for her talk show.
This whole FOX News report is a joke.

They picked Bulletstorm over Dead Space 2?...

Not only do they not make sense, but they are bad at picking how to not make sense most effectively.

As dumb as this news story is, why are these games being marketed to kids? The Dead Space 2 Mothers ad was extremely tasteless and counter-productive to having the media take video games more seriously. Who is Bulletstorm marketed to? With its bathroom humour and shock joke tactics, it looks like the "lowest common denominator" or kids.

It's shitty games like this that make people think games can't be on the level of film in terms of art.

Edit: Before you bring up movies like Fubar II and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, remember that the public is most focused on the Academy Awards for movies. Video Games? Yeah...

Really? You mean it isn't the massive amounts of pornography on the internet, sex in movies, and in books (and I've read some pretty graphic sex scenes from books in my school's library)?
