Its gonna gain heat no matter what anyone does. Though i wonder how a game targeted at guys over the age of 17 is harmful to young women? Unless of course we've all forgotten how to think for ourselves and we imitate everything we see in a game.... o_O

Oh, Fox news... You're so much more fun when I read your bullshit ironically.

Honestly, I laughed out loud when I saw them accusing Duke Nukem of sexism. I like to think that by buying this game, I'm giving a massive middle finger to those fools.

The exaggerated way Duke Nukem depicts women is not very different from the way the protagonist himself is presented. The fact that they think that these two things are different (because, of course, only women can be sexualized)is pretty sexist in and of itself.

First off, the basis for the origanal Duke Nukem was practicaly every single action hero of the time, covered in testosterone. If you were mature enough you would probably pass this game up. My friend and I once thought it was a very fun game. The guns were fun and we always played on 'damn im good' difficulty. We were both 9 years old. Looking back we can both see that the game wasnt that good compared to other games we played. But the thing is it's good when you ARE an imature 'young man'. Once you grow out of it, there is'nt that good. And that just puts a big dent in Foxs argument. Even as a little kid I realized the game wasnt that good. The game will come out, people will play it, and look back at the novelty of it fondly.

I thought fox "news" was supposed to at least present "news" however phony. This isn't news, it isn't even phony, biased news like they usually report. Seriously is there anyone who didn't see this coming? I mean really fox "news" is reporting that this game is sexist when that's the joke! It's like if someone told you a blond joke and then you went of on them for an hour about how that teaches people the wrong things and you should send a message like that. It's a JOKE! It's not meant to be taken seriously! At this point I can see fox news reporting that clowns are an insult to people with big noses.

Is it sexist? Of course it is. But it is also really sophmoric and impossible of being taken seriously. All is needed is some perspective from Fox's part.

I like what "nerd alert" said about Duke Nukem:
"It has been in production for 13 years and it's humor matches someone of that age"

As far as offensive things go Duke is on par with Family guy, childish humor that isn't that bad.

Diamondback One said:
Duke Nukem should have a level inside a news studio where a large fox sits there and Duke has to punch the damn thing in the nuts to open its mouth in agony and shit down its mouth, then strangle it to death as it's choking.

... What? Too much?
Having never played The Duke Nukem franchise (I know, I know, I'm sorry!) I am wavering as to whether I will buy it. Articles like this definitely push me to the 'purchase' side of the line, just to 'sock it to the man'!

If it had a level like Diamondback suggested, I would pre-purchase the super-rare-special-edition-collector's-gold-enhanced-extra-content-pack today...
In a previous Duke title(forget which one) He pretty much does that, well what he did was after killing a boss by dismembering/exploding its head, he proceeded to shit down its lifeless dead corpses neck. So much like the saying "Diddy did it." Duke fucking did it.

I'm pretty sure anyone who didn't see this coming works at Fox News.

The entire point of the game is making fun of people who take this stuff seriously. Oh well, I guess some people will just never learn. Ever. No matter how many hate letters they get and how laughably inaccurate and unprofessional their sources are. The fact that the most humorless people on the planet are still taken seriously as a news source to a lot of people is almost depressing.

I'm surprised that you guys here give a shit. The franchise is indeed a great big joke of American machismo, something that has no redeeming value, except 'jiggle physics'.

I just don't get why Fox News isn't reporting on the delinquency that their parent network is promoting, what with it's sex crazed lesbian cheerleaders, lobotomized prostitution and space cowboys that steel from the military. Really Fox, where is your fair coverage?

Someone should give them a reassuring slap...

I don't know how anyone can see Fox as a viable source of news, to be honest.

Oh fox news you never cease to make me smile and laugh at you. I can't wait Catherine comes out and they get wind of it. That will be funny.

Let me get this straight: Fox News, which, in addition to dressing up most of it's female correspondents like they're overly-botoxed hookers with Master's degrees from clown college, is owned by News Corp., a company that built it's reputation on what I'll politely call risque television shows (for the other Fox), devoting a whole page [http://www.page3.com/girls_home.shtml] of their (ahem) biggest known U.K. tabloid newspaper to what can almost be described as soft-core porn, owning [http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Rupert+Murdoch's+growing+porn+empire.-a0143720355] actual porn channels, and generally supporting political candidates and parties that want to roll back women's rights, are complaining that a video game is sexist and will be harmful to young women? It sounds to me like they would be all for this if that were the case.

Wait, since they're just giving Duke free publicity, maybe they are for the exploitation of women, even if it's a "parody" of how our entertainment exploits women? EDIT: In other words, more of the same from them.

Wait, who's surprised, and who's taking this seriously? I'll knock some sense into those people.
