There's plenty there to criticize, in the case with Carol Lieberman here, without ad hominem attacks. And if you are going to use an ad hominem attack, you should use one that doesn't also make yourself look bad, like saying something sexists might. Plus, when you discredit yourself through an ad hominem attack like that, you give your opponent more ground to work with.
Not to be a jerk to you or anything, but the world would be a much better place if we didn't have people saying stuff like, "Get back in the kitchen!" And if you know it's wrong, and you hesitate to say it, then why even post it in the first place?

Oh good, it is nice to know your evidence to support your theories are grounded with individuals, whom most of which don't know anything about psychology, who were told via large media outlets that an increase in violence is believed to be video games fault, voted such in national polls. Especially since that backs up your claim on rapes increasing which flies against the grain of actual evidence that contradicts that. It's also nice to know that you think rape and violence are interchangeable terms.

She's just shown that videogames cause violent behaviour, which of course we already knew, that's not what we were contesting. The correlation between violent games and violent behaviour is only 0.2, which is a pretty small effect size. Still, it's as strong as the correlation between asbestos exposure and cancer.
Saying that games cause rape is severely exaggerating the scientific evidence. Making a generalisation from a fairly general behaviour i.e. playing violent videogames (most of them are, and all vary in subject matter, what the player is doing etc.) to a very specific and severe violent act is ridiculous.
Now if you were to claim a game where the player intentionally rapes women (which isn't found anywhere in the mainstream gaming industry) and then say it can cause rape, you might have a point. But Bulletstorm isn't about rape, is it, Fox News?

Initially, the statement that games can cause rape caught my attention. We, as both a community and an industry must be ever mindful of the effects that our products have on people.
Not to air "dirty laundry" on a forum, but I have to deal with the effects of rape and molestation on a daily basis. But were the incidents linked to, or influenced by videogames? No. They were committed by people who are, at their very core, evil. I cannot blame a game for what happened.
We need to define the line between "provocative" and "offensive". On my side of the creek, (film) Wes Craven and people like him often take it too far with their graphic depictions of rape. On the games side, there are some games that take it too far as well. At what point are we crossing lines that should not be crossed?

Games like RapeLay, and even some content in the GTA series have taken sexuality too far. But to categorize ALL violent and sexual content in games as booleans for violent crime is ridiculous.

I actually didn't think of it that way, i just thought that believed thtat the public knew about THOSE studies, but if her statement has to make some sort of sense, it needs to be all studies.Irony said:

"Media Psychiatrist" translates directly to, "Doesn't actually treat Psychology as a science and probably barely made it through Undergrad" I don't see how you can major in Psychology and come out that fucking stupid. Yes, she's a Psychiatrist, not a Psychologist, but if she doesn't understand the latter, she isn't sufficiently educated to be the former.
