Ok, but why tho?

Also this:
After some testing, DSOGaming confirms that Ghostwire Tokyo now uses Denuvo following this latest update. By altering the number of CPU cores being used by the game several times, an authentication message from Denuvo appears confirming that the game can no longer be authenticated “on new devices.”
So wait, does that mean people who frequently upgrade will eventually be told to fuck off and rebuy their games?

I saw the game getting review bombed for that. Presumably, everyone that was going to pirate it did so long ago, and I doubt anyone will go out of their way to buy just for the free content.

HFW is supposedly a good game, but I'm put off by the idea of throwing arrows at giant robots. It doesn't "feel right", like it's a thing they could easily be armored against.
They kind of address this by having arrows with explosives and other tools to help rip away the steel plates to allow you to attack the exposed wiring and such underneath. It works well enough considering, especially with explanation of why the robot animals exist in the first place.

Really, the plot, while good, is generally set up to justify the "People hunt robots with bows and arrows in a post-apocalypse" premise.

The reason I couldn't get into this franchise, is mainly because of the open world, and me just not being into the gameplay. I'll give them credit for at least attempting something different, but sandbox games and me really don't jam well, aside from a few exceptions. Horizon I would still play over GTA and most of the other sandbox clones though. That said, it would just be one place for me and that's it, from either of these games.

So slight spoiler, the robot aren't build as death machine, they're more like farm equipment with no real reason to get into fight. Armoring them would be like armoring a John Deer. Also in the game to do good damage you need to shoot at exposed vulnerable parts (fuel tanks, wiring, sensor, etc.)

You do sometime fight against genuine death machine, but those are literally hundreds of year old.

From humble beginnings -
Miyazaki: Demon’s Souls was not doing well. The project had issues, and the team had been unable to make a compelling prototype. But when I learned that it was a fantasy-action role-playing game, I was thrilled. I realized if I could find a way to take control of the game, I could make it into anything I wanted. Best of all, if ever my ideas fail, nobody would care as it was already a failure.

Bloodborne creator Hidetaka Miyazaki: ‘I didn’t have a dream. I wasn’t ambitious.’

…and still humble.

Immortals of Aveum™ is a groundbreaking new single-player, first-person magic shooter, created by Ascendant Studios and released by EA Originals. Experience the story of Jak as he joins an elite order of battlemages to save a world on the edge of abyss.
Thank god, this kind of setting always seems to result in live-service, co-op, "better with friends" type of a game. But this game is ditching all that

Welp. Another corporate acquisition. Sega set to acquire Rovio(mostly famous for Angry Birds) for about 1 Billion.

(behind a paywall so I go off of what info is available for non-subscribers)

I question if Angry Birds has such high value. Something noted was that the audience kinda did not care about Angry Birds II once it got released and since then Rovio has made plenty of mistakes that pissed off hardcore fans, so if neither casual fans nor hardcores care whom are left?

Then again my understanding is that Rovio made more money from merchandise than the game itself, and those remain of fine enough quality regardless of the games themselves.

EDIT: The Escapist saw fit to publish this news item themselves.
