Has/did your school ever pull a dick move?

I had to read 14 books over the summer for my AP English class. The worst part was that half of the books were books that I was supposed to read in other high school english classes, but wasn't able to because my english teachers were either too lazy and incompetent.

I only read six books and ended up dropping down to regular english a few days into school, mostly because that teacher was absolutely terrible.

I didn't have much. A teacher told me i'd get a C from coursework alone then later on told me i'd missed out two sentences (yes, you read that right) at the start so everything that i'd done after which was roughly 130 or so pages of work was now not counted. Even if I aced my paper exams (which i totally fucking did out of spite) it only moved me up a single grade to get this... AN F.

If they'd let me do the advance papers like I asked and aced on the mock exams, I could have gotten up to a *insert drumroll please* an E. Oh god, i'm so excited for that. But its cool, I totally didn't take a computing course in college and get just below the max grade, not at all.

Aside from that, I got kicked out for a month because I got into a fight. Now to be fair I kicked the living shit out of the other three guys, but are they seriously believing that I went and kicked the shit out of three lads, who had bats on them, with my bare hands on purpose?

I mean, who the hell goes looking for a fight like that? The state of my face after should have kinda let them know that I wasn't really the aggressor there.

After reading other posts on this thread I can't really complain beyond a few dickhead teachers but I kinda wish my school gave a flying fug about the football team. I'm on it but we really don't get any special treatment and the volleyball team is where all the money goes. Parents are the ones who have to pay for a lot of our things and we even have to do an actual chocolate sale for funding. Just kinda sucks how we easily have the most difficult sport and while the volleyball team gets everything they want, a renovated gym (wasn't just for them but still) and a bag of chips. We have to have chocolate sale for a goal post on our small field. Just saying if I'm gonna play football I'd like some perks...earned of course...I'm gonna go lay in a tub of ice my body hurts.
Try playing a real contact sport like Rugby union and then complain
ooh I've seen rugby i can't complain about that but I'm complaining more about the near neglect of my team in comparison to a losing volleyball team that doesn't even have tryouts.

OT: I got suspended for being beaten up in the name of fairness, that was pretty cool.
That happened to me in Gr. 2. Then I learned karate. Got into one fight after that and no one has tried to fight me since.

Mine did. Twice.

1) Changed the already awful cafeteria system so kids can only get school food (we used to be able to swing by Tesco in the morning to get something worth eating rather than sawdust sandwiches)
2)Timetable changes. Now, kiddies only have one hour of free time in the entire day, which goes from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and they have less options for their GCSEs, with (I think) 6 of them being removed. This affects the teachers, too - their pay gets frozen for I don't know how long (I'm not even sure they know).

What about yours? Did you ever want to set the board of governors on fire?
EDIT: The one hour is made of 20 minutes break and 40 minutes lunch.
your complaining about that?

we weren't allowed to have any outside food brought in nor were we a open campus, we couldn't even have a water bottle in our bag to bring to class

and the lunch thing..you got 40 minutes + 20 minutes break?

we got fucking 25 minutes for lunch, hell roughly 10% of the people from each lunch period didn't get food because they had been standing in line the whole time. My senior year we had the shittiest room location too, and our teacher was a ***** and didn't let us go early or even line up by the door, so basically i would jump over my friends desk everyday, book it out the door and down this long ass hallway, long jump OVER the stair railing down a flight of stairs, and run down the next set of stairs down to get down and then run another hallway to get to the line, in which sprinting and doing all that i would still be rouhgly 30th person in line. You have zero reason to complain there, thank god i am in college now and don't have to deal with that bullshit anymore.

another fun one later on installed my senior year was that they refused to let you use the computers unless you had one of their super specifically setup teacher notes saying what you needed the computer for and estimated time to be used, and they would watch all the screens, and they would track basically everything you typed in so if you used a proxy that day to get by anything (even to find a youtube link) they would have that proxy closed by the next day.

Let's see...

They call not one but two christian preachers to every holiday assembly. (I go to a public school in Ohio so this is highly illegal.)

Those same assemblies used to be mandatory. Thankfully you can now choose to avoid them.

You are no longer allowed to leave school at lunch to go to a restaurant.

Almost all touching is labeled as PDA and is banned. You are technically allowed to hold hands with your girl/boyfriend but the Principal doesn't want to see it.

2 seconds late to class and I actually saw you rushing towards the door when the bell rang? Too bad! Tardy!

The 5th and 6th grade playground. It consists of 2 basketball courts, 2 tether ball poles (minus both tether and ball), and 8 four-square squares. And most of the time they wouldn't let us bring balls on the playground.
EDIT: And the only source of shade or protection from the wind was a trash can. They took that away my 6th grade year.

If the class talked too much or leaned on the wall on the way to gym the teacher would take us to the gym, make us sit down on the floor spread out from each other, and do nothing for recess.

They once threatened to stop letting kids drive to school because they were driving on the grass to avoid speed bumps at the back of the school.

The practice area for the maneuvering portion of the driving test is set up on gravel and nobody makes sure it's even set up correctly. This means that if you want to pass the test, you have to drive half an hour to get to a town where it is set up right.

EDIT 2: You guys think having a 40 break is bad? We have a 30 minute lunch. And we only have 3 minutes to get from class to class. Need to get something from your locker? Well, I hope your next class is right next door and close to your locker or else you're screwed!

well my school once locked the door to the mot heavily used bathrooms and placed a sing in sheet and a teacher to "guard" the door. all in an effort to curb pot smoking in the bathrooms.

they also locked down where we could hang out during lunch, before we could roam the floors and this general was nice, we could sit and talk or walk around an get some exercise or something, (my school was mostly a big square and you could walk circles, made it nice and hard to get lost in it lol) but they placed teachers to stop students from leaving the hall directly outside the lunch room, which was always packed and very uncomfortable to be in. and it often caused a big traffic jam when the classes started again.

mine used to have a special room for people who didnt want to attend the pep rally, where we played card and video games, painted etc. it got removed senior year because the class president thought art and games was a waste of time and tried to petition to have the gaming and art club removed. since i was considered the "gamers leader" i was told to dissuade her from doing it. i told her if they got pulled, the aftermath wouldnt be pretty and she might have to transfer, thus her petition would automatically be removed or something like that

Yeah, same, except I was watching kids get beaten the fuck up, and told every god damn teacher, not a single one raised a eyebrow. This is not even exaggerated, kids brought BATS one day to beat up the kid, the guy went to the hospital 4 times. He soon left because the school did nothing.

Yah, our principal banned plastic zip tiew calling them weapons, like yours we can no longer go somewhere else to get something else good to eat, and worst of all if our new assistant principal catches students not just kissing in the halls, but even holding hands or briefly hugging they get in trouble, my Green Day 21st century breakdown t-shirt was banned for this reason

EDIT: Oh and they cut drivers Ed

OT: My school has random laptop screenings and can look through personal info if they feel you are doing something your not supposed to do. I know it is their laptops and all but teenagers need some privacy.
Then use your own god damn computer T.T"
lol. In my school which I finished last year they introduced this program called LANschool that you had to have installed on any laptop of your own that you brought into school.

This LANschool program had a key logger on it so anything we would do such as logging onto the Escapist to a bank accounts would be recorded by them. It also restricted access to crucial components such as task manager so if that one program wouldn't close, instead of ending the process we would have to restart the computer.

Fortunately, my friend and I being in our last year decided not to go to the IT room and get the program installed, they never bothered going after us probably because they figured we would be gone in a few months but it still annoys me that they introduced such a thing that even had to be installed on peoples own personal computers.

As a kickboxer who also appears in competitions, I can't help but grin as a matter of general principle.

What is it with American Football players and thinking their sport is tough? Running around and bumping into people in full armour is nothing.
Nothing compared to having to leap around and fall flat or land on your knees to catch a shot in the far field in volleybal. Nothing compared to one or two fingers being struck by a powerfull ball as you try to block. Nothing compared to a fucked up ankle as someone steps or lands on it from across the net.
Not saying this sport is the hardest besides some bruises it's pretty easy and it helps being bigger then everybody but in my school of the sports available we have the most difficult one in our school...in our state...in our city...in our school and we get almost no funding. I've had more difficult paintball matches then football games. My point is that the volleyball team in my school is an embarrassment to sporting and theyve gotten team trips to baseball games with an astounding 1-14 record last year.

Damn...... These schools. Just wow. I can't even complain. I mean, I didn't like high school, but that was mainly the fault of the idiots surrounding me, not the teachers or the government or the principals or anything that. Amazing what you guys have to put up with :p

And don't even get me started on how much I can't complain about my university. They publicly screened for us the most expensive porn film ever made, for free.

To this day I'm still not sure why.
