When I see someone being an asshole to someone else, I report them.
I don't report for low content posts or such because I don't care.

I usually only use the report feature when its the OP doing something against the rules. Otherwise I only use it sparingly.

I wont bother to ask if I've been reported, seeing as my record is as it is.

I have reported many trolls on this forum. I also report threads which are flamebait material.

It's also stupid, as there's no reason to report you for making this thread. It's a valid discussion.

That said, I report people when I feel they deserve it. People who are obviously trolling, spambots, vs threads, posts with no content, posts you can't actually read without a decoder ring and 7 hours of free time... etc.

I've reported quite a few spammers during March Mayhem. You know, the ones that spam the forums with gore or just stupidity in general.

I report trolls when I see them. And I (somewhat) shamefully admit that I reported every person I saw on the Valve vs. Zynga thread with only one post that said "w00t z1n6@ lUlz!!!11" or something along those lines.

I don't report a lot, some stuff that's report worthy to some is funny to me but posting racist junk or 'click my link' scammers get reported.

I've only needed to report once, since the poster was making a direct attack on another poster and the post otherwise had nothing to do with the topic being discussed.

No, never reported on someone. Looks like a big 'I'm telling on you!' button which doesn't suit me. It does it's job though and really mediates the place which is great.

Just spambots and trolls for me. More often than not I let things slide though, because if someone else doesn't report them then I must be wrong in my thinking they should be. I only report those who I can look at from an objective stance and know that they completely deserve it.

Do you report people a lot? How many times? What were your reasons for it?

I've been here a while now, and I've seen some people get reported for things that seemed innocuous, or for personal disputes. I've also seen alot of people get reported who deserved it, but sometimes it boils down to just a difference of opinions. Now, usually the mods just put them on probation, and I know the mods are the reason why the Escapist isn't a festering bog of retardation like the rest of the net. I just think some people are too happy with the report button, sometimes because they want to beat the other guy to it in an argument turned personal. So share your reasons and stories about reporting people.

Personally I only report the spambots.

Also, reporting me for making the thread isn't being ironic, it's being a dick.
reported! - for calling me a dick. anywho i mainly report people for posting porn (if i wanted to see porn i would go on the internet.... wait...) or being spambots.

I accidently hit the report button when I was scrolling down once. Never did it on purpose.
