I'm intrigued apart from one thing; First-person melee combat.

...Oh wait, it's even worse: First-person melee combat with a fatigue bar. *ugh*
This is, however, one of the few situations in which a fatigue bar makes sense. One of the key points in the "zombie vs. human" battle is that zombies never tire out. That means if you're being surrounded, you now have an in-game reason to run away. It's meant to be a zombie survival game, as opposed to zombie hunting.

It might be that true "survival"-type games aren't your cup of tea, but I'm just hoping to shed some light on why it's a good fit for this particular game.

Aw, awesome! I knew they were gonna start mashing games together! This trailer for Left 4 Borderlands looks great!

Whats that? This is Dead Island? Oh...

Joking aside, looks good. Don't know how I feel about the lack of guns stuff... Not that I want another zombie shooter, but when the guy says they are going for a more realistic feel and then throws a knife with C-4 on it after cutting a guy up with an electric machette... Seems contradicting.

Also, they better fix that fatigue bar. I can climb on top of a car with no effort and I'm not in great shape. I can also say with certainty that I wouldn't be tired after hitting 3 people in the face with a baseball bat too fast.

It's odd to say "This isn't the game I was expecting." When the original trailer left no game in mind whatsoever, yet here we are. Looks kinda fun. I think I'm still going to be waiting for my "perfect zombie game" afterwards, but I'll still probably play it.

I'm quite disappointed. Visually yes I'm impressed, but after the beautiful memento style trailer showing us the tragedy and horror of infection I hoped for something a little deeper than this. I know the walkthrough is meant to show off the technical aspects of the game, but there was something really disjointed between the tone of what we've seen so far, where violence was a terrible thing done for survival and the casual slaughter we see here.

Maybe it's unfair of me to take things out of context like this. Maybe I could play the game in the manner I'd prefer - openly weeping with every swing of the baseball bat - but this trailer has not won me over.

It looks dodgy when the skinny "business woman, still wearing her heels" drops zombies with a single punch, so if I do get the game I probably wouldn't use her.

Still not sure about the combining weapons, that novelty grew tedious for me in Dead Rising so I don't know how I'll find this.

Oh wow. I really didn't expect this to look as good as it did. Well, it looks like my wallet's going to be taking another hit... =L

Concept and atmosphere look good.

Textures need a bit of work, but that's probably what they're touching up now.

I love the idea of a zombie game on an island. That's a fusion of two awesome game features. And I realize why the women are still wearing bikinis, but don't we think it'd be more functional to put on at least a t-shirt and jeans in the event of a zombie apocalypse?

This looks quite interesting, I will keep an eye on the development in this game, see if I can be persuaded to buy it, but, since it has zombies and people in bikini's, I anticipate that my brother will snap this game up in a heartbeat XD

Egh, I like the way the gameplay is and all that but my one problem is I wanted a really great story and emotion. This seems like a better than average story with some generic emotion. Well it will be a fun time sink at least.

It does grab my interest because it's the FPS viewpoint but without a nations GNP worth of handguns/rifles/machine guns.
The lack of spamming the attack button for melee attacks is also equally impressive as it would take a lot out of you to constantly swing a blunt instrument.

If it truly does have that slightly free roam feel to it that other FPS titles such as Crysis, Far Cry and Borderlands are entitled to then I wouldn't mind having a test drive on a demo someday perhaps

Looks like a L4D clone with RPG elements.

This is not, note: NOT, a downside.

Looking forward to more news about this game!

Open World Zombie RPG/Shooter? I can't wait.

Hopefully they have put a lot of time into the melee combat since it is most of the gameplay.

I really like the mobility that the players seem to have. A huge mob of zombies coming from all sides would be terrifying.

So, it looks like Dead Rising - Time + Island + Better Graphics. I approve. Looking forward to it.

I was expecting a zombie game filled with a dark atmosphere.
At least it still looks good.

- while the enviroments look nice, the models (npc) are weird though
- I'm not against melee combat in this kind of game, and yes I think it would actually be hard to find a gun a tourist resort...a visit to a police station would fix that however, but what I really mind is the bad aim and depth perception/reach of your melee weapons, the player actually missed a lot of the times when a hit would've been certain in my opinion
- that leg kick just looks very bad (not the mechanic but the animation)
- indeed, what is the explanation for not being infected while fighting? there's so much blood squirts here that you'd probably drink a pint of it every hour
